I have just seen the beta site for G.O.G.com (Good Old Games). They are going to make lots of classic retor PC games available for download for $5.99-$9.99, the games are guaranteed to work on XP/Vista and have all the DRM taken out. Many games come with the expanison that was released for it for free as well! Also, each game has it's own thread in G.O.G.'s forums and G.O.G puts links to game mods that have come out, that they have tested with their G.O.G. installed games!

Currently they have Fallout 1 and 2 and Fallout Tactics, Freespace 1 and 2 and expansions, Hostile Waters, Earthworm Jim 3D, Giants Citizen Kabuto, Sacrifice as well as quite a few others!

you can still sign up for the beta site, but the site goes public at the end of September!

I have downloaded Fallout and Fallout 2 and both work perfectly! I have also downloaded 2-3 mods for each of them that fix lots of bugs in dialogue and add extra quests, NPC's and towns, etc! :)

Hopefully this site will take over from Steam that offer retro games but do not re-program them for XP or Vista, leaving you to get them working on your PC yourself! ( I know people that have downloaded retro games from Steam and found patches and mods do not work on them!)
