Wrong again.

You cannot host your own games with a silver account. It's written in various Halo 2 reviews.

VOIP is Gold account only. Here are the DIFFERENCES between silver and Gold. I'm done with this thread, as you are having a hard time realizing basic concepts.

Private chat is only with people on your friends list, and not in-game like we have right now. MS is tricky with their wording. And to the common person, they probably wouldn't know the difference.

Silver Membership Features

Single gamertag

Common gamer profile

Common gamerscore

Single player achievements

Privatechat via text and voice

Common friends list and online presence

PC only multiplayer including browsing a list of active PC games

Go pickup the latest issue of GFW magazine and read the article starting on page 43. By looking at your profile though and how you have rated PC Games vs. others, I'm surprised you even care to begin with.

Maybe you are right silver members cannot use in game chat and like i said you can host dedicated servers but the game provides over 25 of them 5 of which are for gold only members. Never once said you could host a standard server. When I was playing everyone was chatting so I figured everyone could use it but I have gold so i don't know.

Still voice chat is not something that is standard with PC games....there is still the usual in game text chat.

How did I rate PC games? The only PC game I gave a low rating of 6.6 is Far Cry and I have my reasons.

Sad that we're already paying $50 for a port of a mediocre two and a half year old console game, and Microsoft still wants to leech us for money with this Windows Live crap.

Tbh it wasn't all that good when it first came out 3 years ago. Back then I think "above average" is probably all I would of given it. I think this is a long deserved score.

Microsoft doesn't write their paychecks. Ziff Davis does, and they are still CGW in many people's eyes. MS simply paid them for the name change and advertising in exchange for better circulation.mismajor99
How about you read the GFW Magazine's homepage? Published by Ziff-Davis and Microsoft. I checked that before I posted, and you probably should too.
VOIP for instance, is a GOLD "privilege" under MS's train of thought, not a silver one, but we PC Gamers have had this for a very long time.mismajor99
Likewise on this, for how much screaming you've done about it. Do some research and make sure what you say is actually true before you say it, please. Here's a quote from an extremely negative article on ExtremeTech from almost two weeks ago (May 10th) that generally sums up my concerns:
Our Microsoft PR contact, who has been a good sport about this article, tells us that both the free Silver and paid Gold accounts for Live on the PC will have voice chat in games. There will be no difference at all in voice functions between free and paid accounts.ExtremeTech
Emphasis mine, but thank you so very much for doing your research before talking. This literally took me about 30 seconds on Google to find. So, how much more might you be wrong about? To be fair, they did note that this must have changed recently, referring to things they knew in March. My own reaction to that is that Microsoft probably just dodged the questions (as Moore did in GFW and the engineer tried to), for whatever dumb reason. Even their FAQ site dodges the question - it mentions that Silver gets private chat, but makes no mention of what Gold gets when it comes to voice chat, basically skipping out on an important question. But people went ahead, and assumed whatever they wanted - and then proceeded to tell the rest of the Internet that it was fact. That little 'and then' right there is what gets me. If something's a bad idea, fine - stick to the facts or your concerns about unanswered questions. No need to make things up to make it sound any worse.
