havent had that happen in a good long while. so no its not that bad , just find some better servers. the only problem as of late is the pain in the ass graphical artifacting that the soldier models cause.

SO because it doesn't happen to you its not a problem? Hackers effect all servers, I can't just find a "better" server and not get affected by it. It happended to me twice today.
It just happened to me again! Luckily I disconnected before I got killed, but it still sucks because now I have no idea where I am...
I have only come across one hacker and ive been playing the game since the day it came out. Over 100 hours on dayz, maybe im lucky or maybe there is just not as much hacking as some are saying.

This IS an issue, you would have to be insane to believe it isn't
Just happened again....It also doesn't help that the load times are about 10 mins each time I join a server.
Uh, no. I haven't heard of any hacking.
I must have about 100 hours playtime on the game and I've never seen any hacking.
The load times and artifacts are really starting to bug me now though.

You either have bad luck or are dogin something extremely wrong. I have played TONS of dayz and on tons of different servers and only had one hacker (he was speed running/jumping 1000 yards at a time), that was montsh ago, since then I have not had any hackers. And as for laoding, as Wiseboi said, the arma2 patch fewom a bit ago cut my loading time in half if not more.
I remember playing with some Steam friends and they had this script hack where they can spawn a crate and get whatever loot they can. Lucky I did not try it as they got banned from the multiplayer in the end. Had to admit though, four of us were all geared in ghillies with NVGs at night, advancing through the city in formation and it was kinda fun...until bandits picked us off later on.
For me it made DayZ lame. Well I'm not sure if it was hackers or a crybaby/whiny admin or whatever... but I joined 5-6 servers (US & CAN servers). At a random time (30-45min of playing), everyone was teleported in the sky and fell to their deaths. There was one instance that there was a guy waiting at one of the spots where new people spawned... Kept killing me. I had no guns, only the starting bandage and whatever.
That coupled with the clunkiness of the controls/interface resulted in me just uninstalling it. Moved on to another game.

And just because it happened to you, doesnt mean it happens to everyone.
I haven't logged in the game in 2 weeks. The last time I did log on, everyone got teleported to one spot and killed. I luckily quit the game just as I died, so it like half saved. I logged into another server and spawned on the beach as if I had died, but I still had all my items like me guns and alice pack. I'm not taking another chance like that again, esp. after reading the DayZ forums and people complaining of hackers hourly. I'll wait for Rocket to do something.
I've come across 3 hackers in a very short time. Last week I was playing and twice in one night everybody was killed at the same moment. A second later I hear everyone yelling in the lobby. So I haven't played since then till last night. I was playing, had good stuff then everyone teleported to the same spot. I disconnected as soon as I could. I heard the world catches fire after that. Kinda dumb, I feel like it might have been wasted money. Hackers waste every ones time, even their own.
Hasn't happened to me in a long while. Dayz is not even close to unplayable. Even if someone does hack a server all you have to do is leave and find a better server. Don't complain like you're playing a finished product since you aren't. These issues will undoubtedly be handled in time.
You guys/girls should consider joining a clan and getting on a different group of servers if you are plagued by hacking, it's extremely rare on the servers I've been frequenting.
The popularity of the game is a factor. CoD is full of hackers but there are so many people playing that it's rare to actually end up on the same server as them.
But, CoD doesn't need any more help to be unplayable, I suppose...

There are a ton of people playing Day Z. If you combined all of the players playing the steam and retail versions then it would be over 10k players. That's enough to get on the top ten list on steam stats.
You can't compare the hacking of Day Z to call of duty. If you notice a hacker in Call of Duty, then you simply can join another server without losing much time. A hacker in Day z can make hours of progress go away in an instant. And joining another server isn't as simple as it sounds. What if I had items and vehicles that I want to keep in the game world? That stuff is all server based, and it really sucks to have all of that stuff go away just for a hackers enjoyment. It also doesn't help that the load times for Day z are inanely long reaching upward from 5mins to 15 mins.

I managed to find some pretty decent gear without having to visit any of the major cities. I decided to make a journey to the airfield. I spent maybe one or two hours adventuring to the airfield( I was about half way there.) Annnnnd then....I get teleported to a roof in chernogorsk along with everybody else in the world. Hacker starts mowing everybody down with a machine gun. I managed to disconnect, so I didn't lose my character, but now I'm in one of the most dangerous zones in the game and lost all of that traveling progress.
Not on the same level in terms of hacking, not even close.

15 minute loading times?
The hacking I can belive, as I have a few friends who have been hacked more then once and I read about it daily, but the loading time has never been 5-15 mins for me. Especially now after the last few updates as wiseboi said.
15mins? I cant take that serious sorry. Longest wait time I had prepatch was 3minutes, now its 30 seconds to 2mins at the most (there is one server us599 that gives me long wait time but all the other servers I play on regularly are very fast, usually 30-45 seconds to load and get in game. Have you tried joining different servers?
Also you said you cant bring your items with you to other servers, that is wrong. The only things you cant bring are vehicles and tents (obviously). I have 3 weapons on me now that I bring with me to every server. Sounds like you are on a server with some vehicles or tents that you are fond of, but at the same time it sounds like the server you regularly visit is a bad server. Have a group of 15 friends that I play Dayz with from time to time and while I have heard alot about hacking I have never heard about 15min loading times to get in game, in fact everyone was just commenting after the last two arma2 patches how fast joining servers has become.
Im not saying you have not seen hacking I belive that but 15minute load times? Are you sure you have the latest arma2 beta patches installed?

I maybe over exagerrating the load times, but they are incredibly long. When I'm stuck in these long loads I alt-tab and start doing other stuff untill the game loads up. There was only one time where I joined a server and it loaded up super fast, but every other server I join is just an insane waiting period. Any game that takes more then a min to load up is already taking way to long.
Issues like these make me not want to get DayZ. I already hear it can be impossible to even get it working without some time and PC know how, and its not lacking in bugs or issues either (zombies are badly animated, injury issues are abundant, certain balance issue with spawning, etc.)
Hopefully this game gets as popular as other mods like Counter Strike so some big name company can pay them a bunch of fat stacks to make a real game with all the game testers and server protection they want.
I think I've come across 2 legit hacks in my entire play time, doesn't seem to be as bad as people make it out to be, maybe I'm lucky? maybe I'm not, but then again people forget that no matter the game, no matter how good the anti-cheat measures are, hackers will always be around.
Have about 30-35 hours in DayZ, haven't encountered a hacker yet. But I have seen the videos and the people complaining on the forums. It is a problem but fortunately it hasn't happened to me.tagyhagMost hackers are smart enough to be discrete. Hacking in DayZ doesn't just involve server nukes and jets. Often enough many of the ambushes people ran into were laid down by hackers who had teleportation, invisibility, ESP and map markers. Most people probably thought a lot of those encounters as "bad luck against regular bandits".
We would likely have a lot less hackers if Arma 2 didn't use the worse anti cheat in the world ...Battle EyeI think I've come across 2 legit hacks in my entire play time, doesn't seem to be as bad as people make it out to be, maybe I'm lucky? maybe I'm not, but then again people forget that no matter the game, no matter how good the anti-cheat measures are, hackers will always be around.

Again, this is exactly why we need this thing to evolve into a full game with an engine that supports it and polish it deserves.
I agree the game is almost unplayable with the amount of hackers. I have been able to get a few good sessions in with out hackers but still.Nick3306
DayZ has to be the worst thing that could possibly happen...to the developers of the upcoming War Z mmorpg. Bad news for DayZ is probably good news for War Z.
It's not unplayable due to them, it's just pointless playing because of them.
I've encountered a few, each time killing my character. I've only got about 30 hours of playtime, with my current character taking up about 7 hours of that, but 5 out of the 7 other attempts I've had have been killed by hackers. That's over half of my attempts at playing this game...
The only reason that my current survivor has lasted this long is that when I see there is a hacker online, I log off instantly. It's pretty frustrating...
So yeah, it's not unplayable, it's just pointless in playing.

I have 0 PC knowledge/skills and the issues I had I just googled the issues and found the answers. DayZ is fun and opened up a hole new possibilities for the survival horror genre, of course it wouldn't have been possible w/o Arma 2 which is a pretty decent game itself.
Supposedly theres gonna be a stand alone game in Sept and the possibilities of DayZ making it's way to Arma 3.
Honestly I don't want to play the game anymore. It is great but no matter the server I seem to get killed by hackers every hour or other hour now. Hackers can teleport a random player no matter where they are on the map to a specific location just so they could shoot them. How is that fun? They are wasting their time and my time.
I haven't logged in DayZ in about two weeks, just parked my guy in a bush tell they settle this hacker crap. I don't mind dying but losing my gear cause of some tool gets his jollys off pissing people off over the internet is just the lowest of lows. It took me a few days to find a 20 slot bag and hospital goods that wasn't camped by snipers/bandits.
I love the game (including Arma 2) but hackers in any game can ruin the experience pretty damn quickly.
