[QUOTE="kris9031998"]Woah woah woah, why are you people disliking rdr? Rdr is an amazing game.soldineIt is what it is. Its fun and all, but it gets old. Guess it varies from person to person. I was enthralled until the very end.
RDR is twenty times the game ME2 is. Can't believe anyone would say otherwise.GeneralShowzer
I think ME2 is head and shoulders above RDR
how can anyone say the 'wild west' setting is better thatME's complex and compelling universe?
ME2 captivated me to the point where I couldnt eat or sleep cause I wanted to finish it so badly, RDR was a great game but ME's universe is too amazing for a wild west game or any game this year to beat it

RDR is a massive living breathing world.ME2 is linear corridors with some static NPC's.
In RDR there is actually a universe to explore, rather than navigating that little ship and scanning planets.

All i did in ME2 is wonder aimlessly. Go here recruit this guy, go there recruit this. Solve family drama, talk to people, solve family drama. How are people not bored with this. There is no point in anything you do in ME2.[QUOTE="gillri"][QUOTE="GeneralShowzer"] RDR is a massive living breathing world. ME2 is linear corridors with some static NPC's.GeneralShowzer

the talking to people is my favourite part of ME

This shouldn't even be a debate, mass effect is by far a better game than GTA and RDR. RDR isnt really a living world its just you thrown in with some NPC's who perform scripted actions. Mass effect brings deep story, characters, and decision making (that actually matters). In my opinion rockstar games are great fun but they aren't serious and I myself would call them very childish.

there is a seed of truth to what you say
some people dont see it that way though
RDR has better story and better characters.GeneralShowzer
I can see some points you are making,
the story comparison is debatable, but RDR's story certainly isnt better than ME1's story
and character comparison? thats as wrong as you can get
you realise the work and design gone into making ME's characters, the history of the races and their respective beefs with each other over the millenia?
you thinks thats less interesting than humans in the wild west?
RDR is childish, but ME2 is a game for mature and attractive people? Please... There is nothing more immature that to be given a cast of female characters, and then you can chose who to have sex with. Also notice how everytime you talked to miranda the camera would switch behind her so you can see her backside. Real mature. This shouldn't even be a debate, mass effect is by far a better game than GTA and RDR. RDR isnt really a living world its just you thrown in with some NPC's who perform scripted actions. If ME2 deserved it, it would have won. This is not Spike TV or IGN , Gamespot is a professional gaming site.Oh so your opinion is whatever gamespot says.

[QUOTE="soldine"]If ME2 deserved it, it would have won. This is not Spike TV or IGN , Gamespot is a professional gaming site. They compared the MAIN character from RDR to a side character from mass effect 2, you have much more time with john marston than you do with the alien. The thing about mass effect is that the main character is who you say he is, and your choices actually affect the story. RDR's story is the same outcome and other main characters will treat you the same way even if your an angel or a giant D-bag.Oh so your opinion is whatever gamespot says.

He's just a troll bashing every BioWare game. Ignore him. ME2 is GOTY despite what some pompus critics might say (GameSpot gave Alpha Protocol a 6 and Assassin's Creed 1 a 9 for god's sake)
Oh joy another RDR thread, I have actually changed my view on RDR now. I really really really want Rockstar to bring RDR to the PC ..... I don't want to play it I just want them to release the game on the PC to stop seeing these threads about people wanting RDR on the PC.
Is it possible we can also stop the Mass Effect vs RDR as well ?, that is a truly stupid comparison if ever there was one. GeneralShowzer I appreciate you do not like Mass Effect 2 and that is your opinion, I personally love Mass Effect 2 despite it's faults. I will say this though ME 2 has one thing over RDR and that is "it is actually ON the PC" at least Bioware make their games available on the PC rather than neglecting the most popular platform on the planet like Rockstar are doing.

For you maybe. Not at Gamespot. And nice, calling everyone who disagrees with you a troll.lol Stop debating ME2 VS RDR there both completely different games aimed to give you different experiences there both great and people will favour both differently. scotty992You're right, but why would they say "GTA IV clone , ME2 better, ect. " It's not true.
[QUOTE="soldine"][QUOTE="GeneralShowzer"]
how about the doesens of planets you can explore yourself by buying star charts or doing side quests for? Have you played both games or did you just start with 2, because I cant imagine why you would rate both games a 6 out of 10.GeneralShowzer

They are being small minded just look at the sales figures all those people clearly didn't think it was a clone.

Yeah we get it GeneralShowzer YOU think the Mass Effect series is rubbish, hell you tell us often enough in topics relating to Mass Effect so we do get it now. You happen to think RDR is a fantastic game and for you that might be right I accept that you obviously feel that RDR is better than Mass Effect 2. Now why can't you accept that others think Mass Effect 2 is better than RDR ? In my books Mass Effect 2 is already one step ahead of RDR in the fact it is actually on the PC.
