Stealing = negative karma = karma kicking your butt.
Interesting... I should be dead now if we followed that logic :PThis topic is locked from further discussion.

News flash games take $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to make 10 bucks is not much, considering how much they spent making it and how much they are going to lose by people stealing it. dont like it, dont buy it. Irrelevant. It's been repeated several times in the thread why PC games should be 10$ cheaper, scroll up and read it. Piracy is not stealing. Pirates wouldn't have bought it anyway, so one pirated copy does not equal a sold copy. If someone pirates it, it doesn't mean that EA just lost 60$. And last minimal amount of funds is going into the PC version, if ME2 is any indicator. They didn't even bother to make the game look better, or make the controls better. Al that $$$$$$$$$$$$$ went into the console version, and was cheaply ported to PC by a small team.[QUOTE="GeneralShowzer"] Yes it is a big deal, since those 10 $ can mean an awesome extra game, see Amnesia.GeneralShowzer

I find it funny that you simply shrug off his comment without any actual thought to it... You claim that making games costs $$$ and yes, i agree. However if the Developers are going to put no effort into the PC version, then why are they even releasing one? The increased price is offensive. It's like seeing a mark-up on manure. I can bet we're going to see some "Piracy" cries from devs on this one. Personally though, I'm curious what was going through the publishers heads when they decided the answer to piracy was a price increase. "Look at all those people pirating our game! Lets Increase the price, that'll show 'em!" Loving the logic. These recent price increases are only fueling the Torrenting community further. Maybe Bioware should rethink their $10 price increase? Otherwise i fear that people may decide to save $50 and simply get something better from steam sales, Heck you'd probably find a better game in the "USED" bin at your local game store for ALOT less.[QUOTE="Advid-Gamer"][QUOTE="GeneralShowzer"] Irrelevant. I didnt bother to argue with him , because there is no point. Pc gamers on this forum have there own way of thinking and nothing will change it. I am a Pc gamer but have never piriated even one game. A 10 dollar increase wouldnt drive me to steal, if something that small would, chances are they were stealing anyways. You guys wonder why all the games are going to consoles, this is one reason right here. Pc gamers want everything cheaper or free. You are slowly killing your own system.

Piracy is not stealing... All games are not going to consoles. Most high budget games are multiplat, that means that this gen we see games on PC that never would have been made for PC. MGS : Rising for example. Or Atlus is releasing a game on PC, unheard off. How about Darksiders? You think we would have seen that on PC previous gen? Everything is going multi-platform because companies wouldn't survive otherwise. I don't want everything cheaper, but i don't want to just throw my money at EA for nothing. PC games should be 10$ cheaper, fact, very clear reason for that. PC gaming is doing fine...You guys wonder why all the games are going to consoles, this is one reason right here. PC gamers pay the same price for their games as console users, the only difference is that console users have to pay an extra $10 tax on their games to their console manufacturer (it's called the console royalty fee). Now publishers want us to pay an extra $10 even though console games will stay at the $60 mark ? This is also ignoring the fact that they actually make more money per copy on the PC version than they do on the console version. In short we actually contribute MORE towards the cost of game development per copy bought than console users do but that doesn't seem to be enough and they want to make us pay the same price as console gamers despite the fact there is no royalty fee on the PC.
The fact some on here cannot see a problem with us paying the same price for games as console users really does make me shake my head. Is it any wonder this industry treats the consumer with such disrespect, the consumer deserves it.
What's funny is people pretending there's some real reason why games have been $50 in the first place...prices are just based on what people are willing to pay.
Some AAA games cost 10 million to make, some 30 million, but they all (for the most part) are released at $50 anyways. Under the reasoning some of you are using those games should be more expensive. The reality is game prices are based on people's perceptions of worth and what they perceive big budget games to be worth. It's obvious now people are willing to dish out an extra $10, so naturally game companies are charging more.
Darn, I don't like the price hike, PC gaming has always been cheaper.. Oh well, at least we have steam sales, that easily makes up for it. ferrari2001
Exactly. Just wait for a sale if the price is too steep for your liking. Several online distributors offer massive sales on a fairly regular basis.
Look at you, whining at games prices. You still will no doubt get a great game and as far as technology goes, the graphics and animations should be vastly improved on Mass Effect 2's great visuals.
Bioware has delivered great games and deserves the extra money that they will get. They work to the bone, just to make a great game and what do they get? $50 a copy divided between however many people they have plus EA. I don't think that Activision deserves the same amount of money per copy, because I don't believe that any of their games have anything on Biowares' games.
So there. Thats my two cents.
P.S $60 USD is only $80 New Zealand Dollars, but we pay either $90 (at minimum) or $100 (PC only, NZD), Except for Activision games which are usually more.
Just to show that I don't care.
