Sending my 360 in to be fixed under a 3 year waranty for free vs my PC breaking down and having to replace hardware and or sofware for $$$. Hmmmmmmm. Which option do I choose?
Be quiet, I overclocked an e2180 cpu(Which is much worse) to 3.7ghz on the stock cooler, that's from 2.0 ghz... WAIT what happens when something goes wrong, I get a BSOD, I can go to my BIOS and diagnose, I can do anything... If something does go wrong? So what? Intel has 3 year cpu warrenty, my hard drive has 5, my graphics card has a lifetime warranty... please.
Again you people have no idea what you are doing comparing an x86 proc to a powerpc... These things are a bit too different too compare, and comparing in only one area is WRONNNNNG. (PS how do you repair software?) Ps consoles use IOE to keep costs down, which is why they are cheaper which isn't that great for a desktop OS, there is nothing wrong with IOE architectures but there is a reason pcs are OOE because, there are too many different types of procs, and IOE pay a higher price for false branch prediction.
The 360 still runs GTA4 better than current high-end pcs.

LOL, rockstar state the PC game on low settings is the equivalent of the 360 GTA IV, this despite some bad programming on rockstars part, please. Draw distance of 20 out of 100 on PC equals Console, all other settings on medium and above look betetr on PC, research is your friend.
360 has a weak GPU and people who are claiming that it's nearly as powerful as 8800gtx are living in dream land. I can run COD4 with my old **** X1950pro 256MB and I can play it max out at 1280x720 with solid 60 fps. So since the 360 gpu is so much better wtf does it look like crap when playing it on the 360 compared to my PC.
The point is 360 gpu is weak and saying it's close to 8800gtx is a joke.

Just to clarify, the power of the Xenos in the 360 falls somewhere between the X1900 and 2900. Ask around on other tech forums, they'll tell you the same thing I said.

I just put together a PC for around $270, I'm charging the guy $25 to put it all together for him and to install the OS and make sure it runs good. It's all put together now, I just need to get my monitor hooked up to it and check things out. The PC I put together would crush the 360 and this PC is cheap. I suppose if I were to have looked around for used parts for most other things I could brought the price of the whole thing down to around $225...? It doesn't take much with today's technology to build something better then what the 360 or PS3 can offer.

Once that expires you need to drop at least $80-100 on some OEM version of an OS or go to Linux....but I doubt Linux will be their choice since they're not very computer literate.

ok guys i really want to rap this up... i have a gtx 260 but thats besides the point... i have just put two identical 22inch (one is my brothers) monitors together and i ran cod 4 on my xbox 360 and at the same time run cod 4 on all medium settings on my pc (same res)... i got myself to the exact same spot and closely examined each game... it was close but the PC did edge the 360 on medium settings... details on bricks, guns and the terrain were close to each other but yep i can confirm that cod 4 on the pc at medium detail settings and at the same resolution DID look better my 360... i was super surprised as i did think the xbox would look better... interesting...I took some pics with my iphone but you couldn't tell them apart (iphone cam is a pile of jiz)
also the xbox did ofcourse look better when the pc was set to low
ps cod 4 is the only game i have for both systems so i cant do it with any others :P
You can not be serious. What do you think is the purpose of the patches you download?
Repair software? He was saying it in the terms of repairing hardware. If you took it literally, it would mean getting the sourcecode for something that is probably closed source and fix it yourself. (Also patches don't cost $)
