Most overrated game ever?

I am not saying that people dont have their own legitimate opinions, what i am saying is that they buy those games becasue they got high rated and when they bought them, they thought that this is how good games should be made and just because all the other games they bought happen to have control issues or lesser graphics, those franchises sat as kings of entairtaiment for them.dakan45

You say you are not, but the very next sentence from you is completely discounting their opinions. Anyways, it's a rubbish statement anyways...I have been gaming for over 20 years and have played all greats (from all systems) and I agree with the many reasons halo/gow got high reviews. You can pretend they like these games out of ignorance all you want...

But after 2-3 games, people have began to realize that its not all halo and fable and they give other games a chance like fallout 3 and bad company or dead space. Thats what i am saying.dakan45

These are made up reasons dude...and they don't apply across the board even if you have spoken to a couple people like that. Don't pretend you know the opinions of everyone who has enjoyed halo/gow/ect. All those games STILL have lots of people playing them to this day.

No, I don't. I don't have the need (like so many on this forum) to validate my negative opinion of a game by pretending the people who did like are just idiots.

I didn't like The Witcher...for me the combat was boring and the skills a little shallow...but I can still recognize the quality of the game and don't need to pretend otherwise. And I don't need to pretend those who did like it are just ignorant...I understand the reasons (great story, good dialog, choices, ect) even if I don't like the game.

1.Guild wars

2.Mw2 ( all reviews are bribed anyway... )

3.Crysis (graphics are amazing but gameplay and story ... ) / Halo (completly overrated in every possible aspect)

1 & 2 You are missing the point, you are taking a reason you heard from a few and extrapolating it over as a generality and a truth for all. What you are trying to pass off as truth is either people "wake up" from some kind of gaming stupor or they think these games are great out of ignorance. It's simply not the truth. The people you heard say that is only true for them and doesn't discount any other person.

3. And yeah there are many users who do that, for reasons I already explained. The questions are never "what popular game didn't you like?"...it's always "what game is overrated"...the implications between those questions are very different ;)

yeah i wish mgs3 and 4 were released on pc, they would prolly sell pretty well, especially if they released a box set for the pc that had all the MGS games

3 and 4 would of been much better on pc. especially the online, and ESPECIALLY the controls.

i really dontlike oblivion. i dont really think a rpg is ment to be first person and once u turn it 3rd person you see how huge ur head is and how spedish u look when u move and fight. l4d gets boring fairly quickly.i cant play it for more than an hour at a time with out getting board out of my mind.

PC Gamer magazine have put three front covers with something related to Starcraft 2. Starcraft 2 is getting way too much hype to the point it will be overrated.

Bioshock. It is an excellent game, dont get me wrong...it just isnt 10% of what it should have been.

I mean...Bio...Shock---System...Shock...they even had a good chunk of the System Shock crew working on it! It is the epitome of settling for multiplatform.

Also Modern Warfare 2...after playing the campaign on my roommates PS3, and milking that free multiplayer weekend they had, I just dont see what is so special about it. The multiplayer is so...meh. Its like "Spawn kill kill die spawn kill kill die"...there is almost zero depth to it.

I love vanilla shooters, dont get me wrong, but this was just bleh, meh, and blargh
