Hmm, I don't know much about that card. Also I would've went with the Intel route, but I'm not sure how much more those CPU's are then AMD. Although I currently have an AMD Opteron (OC'd to 2.4 ghz) but I bought that just before the craze of the Intel chips came in. Can't complain though. Nice dual-core chip that OC's easily (stock cooling).

Oh ya, what virus protection program should I use? I think I heard that avast is good, but I never used it. I DON'T want anything that will slow down my pc (like norton which I'm using now and hate).

I use Avast and have no complaints. Couple that with ZoneAlarm for a firewall and you should be pretty well protected.

You should wait for the 8800gs to come out. I think it might be cheaper and perform better than the hd3850.

I've got the free version and have had it for a good 10 months or so. No problems with it and doesn't seem to eat up too much memory. I had Norton and AVG in the past and Avast has done the job as well as them.

Free Version will serve you well,it slow's down performance, but its barely (If at all) Noticeable with the rig you're getting.

I'd get some G.SKILL 2x1GB DDR2 800 instead though, but if you're willing to deal with rebates, that Corsair XMS2 is fine, pretty good rig for the price.

I'm amazed at how much AMD has lowered the cost of their processors. $54 for a moderate dual core. WOW.

Yeah, I'd guess that Intel's new chips are giving them hell.

Well you kinda didd that yesterday lol but $600. It went to $700 with mouse and keyboard and speakers. And I'm pretty confident with the current build just not the case and psu with rebates. I don't wanna go with the pc power and cooling psu:P.

Why no PC Power & Cooling PSU? Its a very-high quality PSU,best PSU in that price range.

really its ot much

since the interface is 256mb 512mb of VRAM is the most it will go to and 256mb VRAM is justr average but you will still be maxing out all games (except for crysis but yah...)

i think you should go for the visiontek one its a good investment.

also the case you chose is a good case and theres no need to change it.

The video card, though weaker than HD 3850,is still a awesome card, beats everything in that price range easily, and the Earthwatts 430W is $5 if you really don't want the PC P&C 470W.

Yep, Corsair VX450. If you are looking to spend more look at the HX520.

To the OP-that is a fantastic build for the money. Personally I would have gone the Intel route and overclocked, but if you are not too confident overclocking you have done really well! Nice :D

Maybe its too expensive because you chose a $50 mouse? Seriously, you can get away with a Dell Mouse, sure you don't have looks, but the performance of the Dell Mouse isn't bad,and you'll have extra cash for a better PSU.

Or even just drop down to a 160GB Hard Drive then, save you $16 bucks which can go to a better PSU.

no you didn't say anything close to that line you said it would last longer because it has more power which doesn't have to do with it lasting longer at all and if you were trying to get at it was better because it has more power big deal because

1. he doesn't have a sli mobo

2. the antec 430 has a max load of 360watts on the 12V+ rails which means 30amps which is one less than the crosair alsoi there isn't even a sli setup that draws that much so that point fails just like the other one

[QUOTE="mattpunkgd"]I don't get it because it's $80 and that's what i have for a psu AND a case.mastershake575

yah but the antec earthwatts wont last you long besdies it only has like 17a on the 12v rail (2 of them) and the vx450w has 31a on the 12v rail its alot stronger and should last you longer

um topic creator don't listen to this guy he doesn't know what he's talking about since the earthwatts its one of the best powersupplies out there in general and since when does more power mean its going to last longer thats got to be the dumbest thing ive ever heard no offence but it is

just saying its good for futureproof but whatever

no you didn't say anything close to that line you said it would last longer because it has more power which doesn't have to do with it lasting longer at all and if you were trying to get at it was better because it has more power big deal because

1. he doesn't have a sli mobo

2. the antec 430 has a max load of 360watts on the 12V+ rails which means 30amps which is one less than the crosair alsoi there isn't even a sli setup that draws that much so that point fails just like the other one

still like i said whatever not in the mood to argue

laters

there nothing to argue about bothof your possible points failed the first one saying just because it had more power means it last longer failed because thats not true at all and the secound one wasn't good since the crosair only has 1 more amp so you can't even really says its more powerfull its barely

I'm having trouble with newegg. I can barely load any of their pages, and the ones I can still take forever. Everyother site is fine though.
