I must say, I did lol quite hard.
Can't wait to tell my ATI Fanboy friend about this, he still thinks ATI are the best cards ever and there are no problems with them.
The problem is with the game, not the cards.I must say, I did lol quite hard.

LOL
I post in another thread about the game and its seems just like saints row its an unusual bad port
NO AA option for PC
countless technical and tonal problems
PC version seems particularly fraught with pop-in problems
So Bad port incoming but its a mediocre game juding by reviews so not like missing something great
but we do, im not buying this one though.Wow. And publishers and developers wonder why people don't buy PC games.

Yeah, because ATI is known to be reluctant to have games work on their gaming cards.
Or maybe it's that now nVidia is getting their butt kicked hard by the 5xxx ATI series and needs some "exclusives", right  ?

ATI only releases patches Nvidia works with the developers together before the game even is released. Without Nvidia there wont be PC gaming anymore.

You can't prove that. Also, did anyone expect this game to be a good port? I mean it is developed by pandemic...ATI only releases patches Nvidia works with the developers together before the game even is released.

I don't like nvidia's underhand buisness tactics, this is exactly the reason I don't buy their cards.
It is in the best interest of the devs to test their games on both nvidia and ati cards, but not so much if they're having money pushed into their top pockets.
One of many examples
AMD prides itself on supporting open standards and our goal is to advance PC gaming regardless whether people purchase our products.
Unfortunately, not everyone shares our philosophy. Nvidia has recently sampled some newly released The Way it is Meant to be Played titles, including Batman: Arkham Asylum, to press in hopes that they would use these titles to benchmark against the HD Radeon 5870 and 5850. There are some known issues with these proprietary TWIMTBP titles.
Batman: Arkham Asylum
In this game, Nvidia has an in-game option for AA, whereas, gamers using ATI Graphics Cards are required to force AA on in the Catalyst Control Center.
The advantage of in-game AA is that the engine can run AA selectively on scenes whereas Forced AA in CCC is required to use brute force to apply AA on every scene and object, requiring much more work.
Additionally, the in-game AA option was removed when ATI cards are detected. We were able to confirm this by changing the ids of ATI graphics cards in the Batman demo. By tricking the application, we were able to get in-game AA option where our performance was significantly enhanced. This option is not available for the retail game as there is a secure rom.
To fairly benchmark this application, please turn off all AA to assess the performance of the respective graphics cards. Also, we should point out that even at 2560×1600 with 4x AA and 8x AF we are still in the highly playable territory …

Thats just the PR firm that represents Pandemic.
It was an internal port, but after Mercs 2, is anyone really shocked?
Nvidia put extra work (and worked with developers) to enable AA into a game that didn't support AA (Unreal Engine). I see no reason that ATi's tantrum should allow them to gain from another companies work. One of many examples

I'm really disapointed with ATI, they don't work properly and Nvidia takes the cake. So far there's a bunch of great games that sucks with ATI cards, Batman: AA, Borderlands, NFS: Shift... at least they delivered Dirt 2 in great shape. There are some disturbing things about this Nvidia sabotage like Fear 2 and Batman, but hell thats the way business works, they shoulddo the same. They fail to aproach the developers we get screwed.

Masculus
Batman:AA, Borderlands and NFS:Shift, 3 Nvidia TWIMTBP games.
Over the last 2 years I've found myself becoming more frustrated towards Nvidia. They continously rebrand card after card. This year they continue to show they don't deserve any business by pulling stunts such as the Batman AA Debacle. And this latest stunt doesn't surprise me at all. ATI only support a handful of companies, Valve, Blizzard being the main ones if I recall. But Nvidia happen to have a monopoly in comparison. And seeing how games with that branding are the ones who get consulted first and spend the longest time with the developers its obvious which is going to have the best performance.
I haven't bought from Nvidia since 2001. I considered it last year but the rebranding put me off to ATI again, and last month I chose a more expensive ATI card over a Nvidia card for the family PC given there recent tactics.

[QUOTE="ferret-gamer"]it works on my pc, with an ati card. but i got it from other sources......rmfd341That's unusual, a pirated version working flawlessly while original copies are not working at all, great. Man its always like that, pirates always get to play the game no matter what, and buyers gotta bother with problems and drm issues!!! Then the develeopers blame piracy for not releasing games on pc and not the obvious reason that they destroy the pc versions with every way possible and make it even harder to work and run properly!!
Yeah I'm probably going AMD/ATi again next time I upgrade. I never really liked Intel or Nvidia, but the price/performance ratio was just too good to pass up when I upgraded.
Bad ports are bad enough without crap like this happening, it would be disastrous for PC gaming if there was only one GPU company.
