Isn't that cause it's a MP Demo? more weapons will be available with final product.FelipeInside
Yeah but not unlcoking anything and getting stuck with the default ones is not a good presentation of the game since it does not show wherever the next weapons are balanced or more powerfull. Same goes for the suit modules "maximum level reached" then why the hell limit the demo in level 10? I wanna see some of the rest in order to get a better idea of how the game will change when you get new stuff.
Also i did not like not one of the weapons in the demo, i wanted to try the smg and the triple burst rifle, but they are not in the demo. I sure as hell wont buy a game all the guns i have seen so far are not suitable to my gameplay st-yle
Also i can connect to the multiplayer but i cant seem to start the damn match. Me and the other players wait in lobbies forever.
Right, so you basically want to unlock everything and have nothing to look forward to in the final game? You're basically saying you want to see everything the game has to offer to know whether you'll buy it or not. If you can't make an intelligent conclusion based on what you did see, how about you just don't buy it at all. Deal? Okay now stop complaining about it. =)

Exactly, even MMOs do this....for example the trial edition of WoW only lets you have a maximum amount of money, no mailbox, limited skills too I believe etc... it's a TASTE of the final game... (hence why called DEMO)I see where you are coming from, it's hard to judge the gameplay of the mp when you don't play with or against the entire arsenal. It's certainly not a beta because they would need to unlock all the weapons so you could properly test them. So in retrospect the demo showcases the graphics and a small subset of the possible gameplay. But the graphics are locked out. Perhaps they should have just released a single player demo or at least full graphics options.Yeah but not unlcoking anything and getting stuck with the default ones is not a good presentation of the game since it does not show wherever the next weapons are balanced or more powerfull. Sometimes I use a controller for PC FPSs, yes, I am that crazy.
Do you enjoy getting beaten constantly by people that are less skilled than you because they are using a more appropriate user input device?

I don't always get beaten, I beat them as well, I went 38-0 in Star Wars Battlefront 2, that was epic. I still use keyboard and mouse as well for all games, definitely for Crysis, I don't think I can play that on a controller.D=The graphic of Crysis 2 is not that bad but compare to Crysis when its first came out then its nothing "WOW" about it. I like Crysis' cloak's invisible mode (its fun to sneak behind them and kill them or you get a chance to run away when someone is shooting at you) and the way they handle the KillStreak where you need to get to the dead body to get the "shining" thing and need to get enough of them to get a KillStreak. I think it make people to camp less. The Soundtrack is really good IMO.
What I don't like about Crysis 2 are
1. The woman's voice that tell you what you need to do. Its the most annoying voice in multiplayer I ever heard.
2. When a game end it jsut turn off all the sound for like 5 sec. and then a voice say you win/lose bla bla bla. It feels so....I don't know but I just don't like it. Games like Battlfield or Call of Duty serie have a nice music or voice that keep the flow moving to the next match while Crysis 2 just end and it ends.
3. Only 12 players. I can understand if its on Consol but c'mon its PC and only 12 players....
I'll probably buy this game when it become cheaper but not on release.
That's not strange. In an interview, the leader of Crytek (forgot his name) stated that they intentionally wanted to focus on optimization for Crysis 2. He stated that they could have made it more demanding for PC users, but they wanted it to be just an all-around fun experience this go-around. So, it's SUPPOSED to run better than the original.Strangley I run Crysis 2 better than the original on hardcore.

I found another benefit of increasing the FoV other than it let's you see more of the battlefield. It also makes you feel like you are sprinting a lot faster, maybe not as fast as Crysis 1 but it definitely feels closer to a super sprint now rather than jogging.
How did you go about increasing your FoV in the demo mate? Almost starting to feel bad for Crytek now. Beta leaks a month early. Shoddy PC demo. Poor performance on PS3. Demo hacked to pieces in two days. What's next I wonder, come on, still 17 days left.
How did you go about increasing your FoV in the demo mate? I can't seem to enable the console in the demo :(-CheeseEater-
Create a shortcut for the Crysis 2 Demo exe file.
Right click>properties and then add them at the end of the target box line with an empty space before each command
+g_skipintro 1 (skips all the intros before the game boots up)
+r_glow 0 (removes the glow effect)
+i_mouse_smooth=0 (disables mouse smoothing)
+r_MotionBlur=0 (disables motion blur)
+cl_fov 60
+r_DrawNearFoV = 60
+pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 60
(These three changes the Field of View and all three of them have to be changed to avoid getting "seasick")
If you want to get rid of the overall blur (which is caused by the game's built in AA method) lower the graphics from Hardcore to Advanced and add your own AA trough the drivers (not sure if all modes work but they say the AMD exclusive XEQAA method at least does.)
Also if you want to change the aim/iron sights to toggle you can do that once you're in game by going to the settings and then "game".ZimpanX

wow, all of a sudden the game looks good and I can now see the other players well and get some kills. Many thanks for posting this! Yeah, after making those changes the game is MUCH more playable now. I just got out of a match where I went 16-3. I'm actually starting to like the multiplayer now, the suit powers are really useful. Also, I noticed when I booted up the demo this time there was a disclaimer at the bottom (beneath "press start to continue") that said something along the lines of "this does not represent the final quality of the product". Has that always been there or did Crytek patch that in after the furor this demo has caused?[QUOTE="GummiRaccoon"]

I set mine to 90 like how it is in the original Cryis.
There is another way of getting rid of the temporal AA that blurs the screen without having to switch from Hardcore to Advanced by using the "+r_postmsaa=0" command, also using SSAA using the drivers is supposed to work like for example 2x4SSAA.
Edit: Here in this Giantbomb thread you can see screens comparing the differences betweeen some of the settings.-CheeseEater-

If thats what you understood, then please do not bother replying to my posts EVER again.
If thats what you understood, that i want to unlock "everything" then you are obviously ignoring what i had already explained. There is no point really to check new weapons and use points you earned to unlock them if all the weapons available in the demo are the ones in the default classes. As i said, how the hell i know that the next weapons are not overpowered or anything? They should atleast allow to unlock a couple more weapons than the ones that are ALREADY available in the default classes.
...however YOU think thats "everything"

Now, right click, go to properties, and in the box by "target" LEAVE what is alrdy in there but at the very end do a space and copy/paste the line below to get rid of motion blur/set FoV to 90/skip into. I just figured it out a few minutes ago, and I played 3 rounds. Thank you though! MUCH BETTER. Everytime I ask a question, I end up figuring it out a few minutes later. :P hehe. Did you like it with the tweaks? I find it to be a bit distorted at 90 fov. I might lower it a bit.. but 0 blur and 0 bloom does wonders. The MP is starting to become addicting.
I've had a change of mind and I think I'll enjoy Crysis 2 very much when it comes out. It has grown on me. Hopefully they do address the settings for PC. SLi profile driver, DX11, advanced settings like AA, AF and things like that. I hope they don't abandon those features. Although judging from the MP demo, it looks really good with the tweaks.

Not at all. Runs even better actually. Well, not in fps. FPS stayed the same as before... but I noticed sprint felt more natural and smoother. Everything felt smoother and easier on the eyes especially for those that can't stand the half-a screen gun size and FOV that makes people nauseous. :D
The tweaks really did it for me. The final product can only look better than this. I wouldn't worry about Crysis 2 so much. It's going to be great. I'm a believer now. Thanks to ZimpanX.
I'll thank you now for the effort =) I'll have to jump back in-game and take a quick look for comparison. :)If that doesn't please the eyes, then you're on crack+ecstacy. I apologize for not being able to get better shots. I was getting chased down half the time hahaha. Enjoy.

If only we could do something like this on PS3 with KZ3.
I normally avoid posting on the forum but i'm a tad annoyed right now.
Firstly, the game looks good, but at the same time it's cluttered with crap that ruins the game for me. There are pipes sticking out of things and bits of wood that although they look about 2 inches thick seem to be about a foot wide when your shooting past them and end up hitting invisible walls everywhere.
Then there are the hackers... Its a demo and i've already seen atleast 15 people out of the 100 i've seen today hacking. Some of the hacking websites already have .exe programs which will work on launch of the game (so they say). The game I just left this guy was 68-1 running around in stealth with nano vision on 100% the time. 2 Servers before that another guy was running super fast and insta shooting people -without stopping (meaning full suit power permnanetly)
I've actually cancelled my pre-order after doing the rounds on a few cracker sites and seen the ammount of stuff already in the works for C2, I was interested in this MP wise but after the state of the demo - no thank you.
I'll borrow it from a friend and play the SP when he's finished with it.
I really wouldn't use a MP demo to judge how well a game is going to be able to guard against hackers. Typically the only defense most games have against hacking is server bans and since most demos only last a month or so at the longest companies really don't bother to guard against hackers since it's not that big of a deal in a demo.I normally avoid posting on the forum but i'm a tad annoyed right now.

Yea. after making the fov 90 for me, and removing the blur and even just the intro, the game has almost doubled in amusement for me, and I even enjoyed it before. Imo they have a pretty good product and it feels like they almost "tried" to see how troublesome they could make it with all the simple issues it has.
FOV at 90 was a bit too much for me so I dropped it to 75. With sli now working and being able to see everything clearly, omg, not only does it look much prettier, but I actually have a good Kill/Death ratio now...
MASSIVE IMRPOVEMENT!!!!!!
I hope to god that aim assist is removed from the PC version. Nearly every time I die, when I watch my death the person is clearly not aiming at me.
I have aim assist turned off, because that is for sissies.
Runs like a dream by comparison to Crysis 1:
HD5870 + Intel Core2 DUO E8500 @ 3.2 + 4gb OCz Platinum PC2-6400 ram (800mhz) on Hardcore settings with Dx11 on i presume(?)
i get 50-90 fps average with everything highest (1920x1200 + hardcore + vsync, etc)
marvelous game :)
Well the destruction is toned down in the multi-player. There is destruction in the beta-leak, from what I understand. On console versions too. It's funny. You guys know that intro video explaing stuff? It's clearly the PC version being showed (controls on screen are dead give-away) and there was far more destruction in the enviroment.
Something tells me we haven't seen everything yet.
Wasdie
So that is actually in the PC version...good god. I thought it would only activate if you have a 360 controller plugged in. It does make a lot of sense too, some of the kill people have been getting on me. Just bad.I hope to god that aim assist is removed from the PC version.
