How well can I play Crysis?
My pc specs are:
AMD Althon X2 5000+ 2.6GHz
2gigs dual channel 800 Mhz RAM
Diamond Radeon HD 3850 512mb
Windows XP SP2
Hi guys will my pc run = two worlds + oblivion
WINDOWS XP SP2
AMD SEMPRON 3000+ 64 BIT 1.8 GHz CPU
GEFORCE 7600 GS 512MB DDR2 ( 128-bit Dual RAMDACs 400MHz) GPU
768MB DDR333 MEMORY
if not what do i need to upgrade?
Oblivion runs fairly well on AMD "XP" processors as comparatively slow as their "Barton 2500" (equivalent in gaming performance to a single core Pentium P4 running at 2.8 GHz). A Sempron has a much smaller cache onboard, so a "Sempron 3000" is roughly the same as an XP (Barton) 2600. I've tested that game on several "Socket A" AMD systems with Abit, Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI MBs in them, and CPUs from 2200 up through 3000.
Anything slower than the XP 2600 starts showing its age in crowd scenes, but those upper level XPs do well enough, as long as you match them to a good enough video card (the game's performance is at least 50 % dependent on the VGA).
P.S. That silly-looking "-1" trailing my handle is GameSpot's goofy addition. I never have used such an awkward variation as that until they decided to amalgamate all of the various member databases they had going.

HI kiwi
so what your saying is i should be able to play it on the system i have? i was thinking off upgrading from the 768 ram to 1Gb would that help?. i found a site that if you select a game it then tests your system and tells you what you need or don't to play it and my memory is the only thing that lets me down.
Not necessarily, before I upgraded my XFX geForce 6600, it ran most games at medium minimum right until the end of 2006 - from Ubersoldier on high to F.E.A.R. on medium. Most cards can run most games at acceptable levels excepting obvious cards like the 8500GT or 8400 at stock speeds.
Sorry but i dont know if this is the thread anyway.
My question is why Core 2 Extreme CPU's are better than Core 2 Duo CPU's (i'm talking about Dual cores not Quad)
can someone please explain to me thanks. if you know a Web page where i can learn more i'll be thankfull.:)
Hey guys how well will my laptop run

I assume this is a joke?
Hey yall. I'm just wondering how well my pc would Run Unreal Tournament 3 and Enemy Territory Quake Wars on these specs:
Graphics: Geforce 6200 256mb
Memory: 2gb
Processor: 3.0 ghz (HT enabled Pentium 4)
I know these will prolly run poorly on my system, but what do you guys know and think from experience?
If you have the money get a 9600GT, but if you don't get the HD3850. I believe AMD/ATI have cut the prices so it would be even better value for money.

Of course not !
Halo 2
CPU: 2 Ghz Pentium 4 equivalent processor (or x64)
RAM: 1 GB
Hard Drive Space: 7 GB
Video Card: DX9 graphics card: WDDM driver, PS 2.0/32BPP, At least nVidia 6600 or ATI x700 or above
Online Multi-player: Internet connection for Games for Windows – LIVE
Optical Drive: DVD-ROM drive
OS: Windows Vista
Why bother asking ?
It seems a lot of people need help specifically with their graphics card. Here are the current graphics cards I would buy (obviously, prices constantly change so these recommendations may not be valid in another month):
AGP Upgrades--If you're still clinging onto the AGP interface, it's probably time you start considering doing a major system overhaul or just buying/building a new PC. However, there are some options to breathe new life into your antique, er, I mean PC.
Budget--X1650 Pro
Budget/Midrange--Radeon HD 2600XT
Midrange-Wait. The Radeon 3850 should be arriving on the AGP scene shortly.
PCI-Express Upgrades-My best advice: Don't spend more than you need to!!!
Budget-2600Pro-Not recommended unless you do very light gaming.
8600GT-This is what I consider the minimum for modern day games.
Midrange--ATI Radeon 3850 512MB The 8800GS is also a good option.
High-Midrange-This is where the competition is very fierce right now. ATI's 3870 and the 9600GT are currently in a duel. Either is a good choice, although be ready for price cuts soon. This is the 3870 I recommend. If you're in the US and shopping with Newegg, this is the 9600GT I recommend. Just make sure you type in the promo code "EVGA9600GT" when prompted to save $10 for a limited time.
Higher-Midrange-8800GT. Probably the best price/performance ratio card at the moment. If you have the money, definitely get it over the 3870/9600GT.
Highend-8800GTS. As long as you hand in the rebate, it's a fair deal. The 8800GTS is only marginally more powerful than the 8800GT in most situations, so not worth the price premium in my opinion.
Very Highend-3870 Crossfire, 8800GT SLI, or 3870X2. Only for those who play at very high resolutions or to whom money is no limitation. I personally recommend waiting for Nvidia's upcoming 9-series cards to see what is the best value.
Can I play Crysis?
AMD Althon X2 5000+ 2.6GHz
2gigs dual channel 800 Mhz RAM
Diamond Radeon HD 3850 512mb
Windows XP SP2
Can I play Gears of War, Halo 2, Viva Pinata, Company of Heroes, Guild Wars, and Halo 2?
(Its ok if Gears of War runs on low or medium on my comp)
Spec: 250Gig Hard Drive, 3gig DDR3 or w/e that is lol, 256mb Graphics Card, nVidia GeForce 8600, Vista Premium
Please respond I need help, this is my second time posting here.
Aside from crysis, what pc games will give me a issue?
E8400 @ 3.6Ghz
2x1gb XMS2 DDR2-800
8800GT 512 OC'ed and then OC'ed by me alittle more
Running on a Gigabyte x38-DS4. HDD is the WD 7200RPM SE16 SATA3.0/gbs
Guess if anyone can offer some graphically intensive games aside from crysis I would appreciate it. I just want to bench in game to get a real solid feel for my performance. So far CoD4 max everything and running solid. EQ2 on Extreme Quality!
System requirements is WRONG at least 20 % of the time it says "Pass", and probably close to the same when it says "Fail".
The last time any video card with a "400" as its last three numbers was worth wasting time looking at, was the GF4, Ti-4400, which was the equal of an FX 5700 for Dx8. Always get at least a "600" if you want to play games. Period. The 8400 is really terrible; much worse than a 7300, more like a 6200 A, really (64 Bit Memory system!)
Further, don't assume that a "600" is always as good. If it's an LE, an SE, or a TC, it's not good enough, no matter what number sits in the last three spots. nVIDIA likes to confuse matters in between cheating its customers, by naming some "LE" cards with the "XT" that is used on the upper ranks of Radeons (the 6800 XT is crap for a name / number like that).
Instead of the SR Lab, use the YouGamers' tests.
Laptop is coming in the mail...I'm getting it as a gift. How well can it run Bioshock? Could it run it in 1024x768 with most of the textures/lighting/filter settings on high?
The specs from what I recall:
Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz (mobile)
GeForce 8600GT 256mb (mobile)
2 GB DDR2 ram
Help mucho appreciated. Thanks
(I suppose I could just be patient and try out the demo when the laptop gets here, if nobody can help me)

That, it would seem, will depend on your definition of "run", won't it?
System requirements * Windows XP, Windows Vista
After the IGP takes away shared RAM, you won't meet the RAM's minimum amount; that probably affects it plenty.
