what's your GPU usage?

something like MSI afterburner or GPU-z can show you the GPU usage.

OK, I do find that if I walk through smoke, or when the big building comes down, my FPS takes a huge hit. I think I'm going straight down to 25-30 when that happens from 60.

I'm getting a little bumed that these new consoles aren't the step up I wanted to see. This is supposed ot be the first "next gen" game engine, and it looks better than BF3, but not that much better.

 

I have a feeling most "next gen" games are going to fele like, same old, same old from a PC gamer's perspective :(

Well, maybe not 2007, but I don't think it would be unfair to say 2010 or so. 

One frustrating thing is that NO ONE is workign together. They're lone wolfing, and the onyl thing a squad appears to be good for is to spawn ahead.

Anyone want to team up, actually use voice chat and work together?

I've noticed that is the trend now for online shooters.  Heck I even got more teamwork in COD sometimes than BF3, lol.

What I found works is playing with friends, cause then you work as a team.

Also, the game is STILL doing the stupid thing where it unless you have your gamepad turned on when the game boots up, it won't recognize it. EVERY other modenr game will automatically detect a new gamepad, but NOT this one.

Can play on low at 40fps but I can play smooth enough to get a feel for the game.

Everything is a refinement of BF3. The shooting is tighter, movement is slower, the UI is built more around teamwork, and the level design is excellent. I need to play more but I have some good initial impressions.

I think it is. Will put more empahsis on vehicles and forcing people to stick together. Right now nobody is playing as a team as they are exploring the game for the first time. Teamwork will come when people learn the mecahnics.

One of the problems I had with BF3 was how fast it was. Combine that with the smaller level design and it found a really weird spot between BF2 and BC2.

I noticed that firefights at a distance consisted of more shooting at each other and less insta death. Led to some interesting long range engagements.

The game is pretty much unplayable for me. Running the game between 5-15 fps and I noticed that all of my CPUs were at 100% usage. Changing the settings doesn't really do anything either. I made a short video that shows some textures problems with the beta and the poor performance issue.

Except when I play everyone is using grenade launchers, lol...

If you're getting performance issues while using the beta drivers make sure you roll back. Beta drivers aren't working for most people. I went back to the 320.49 drivers for NVIDIA and have almost no graphical issues.

I noticed that immedatiely and nearly stood up out of my chair and clapped

EDIT: also, going to try the game on my dekstop now instead of my laptop which nearly melted down playing it.  Let's put those 6 cores to use!

Stutter makes the game unplayable and I can't get those old drivers to work.

I think the Beta drivers are good for SLI systems, and bad for single GPU systems, at least based on what people are saying.

ALT is the default voice key.

I'm starting to get much better on the helis, man this game is fun! Had forgotten since BF3 wa such a long time ago.

good lord...my 7970GE and my AMD X6 1100 just eat this beta alive.  13.10v2 beta drivers.  Gorgeous looking game, incredible sound, all max settings except AA...no stuttering at all.

I was able to get it more stable. It's the best of BF3 mixed with a lot of the great elements of BF2. It's the BF3 we should have gotten 2 years ago. Oh well, better late than ever.

Turn your network smoothing to 0% and enjoy hit detection on par with CS. I'm not kidding. It's improved that much. If they fix this stuttering it's going to be amazing at launch.

Can someone help me with my driver problem? I have a GeforceFX 570 and I can't install the beta drivers. It won't install the graphics driver and it just resizes my screen and then Windows has to scan for my card and rolls the drivers back.
