There's a difference between making requests as a customer and having entitlement issues. Asking for Half-Life 3 would fall into the former and be acceptable. But saying something along the lines of "OMG Why u no make HL3!! U owe us PC xclusiv Half-Life!" is a prime example of the latter and does nothing but make the developer not want to listen to whoever does that.

Nope there is no difference in those two requests, if you are saying one is "request" then so is the other and god forbid should gamers actually DEMAND what they want any more. Nope we should all just go "oh pretty please thank you sir can I have some more". The customer should be demanding that they wants the product to be exclusive to the PC platform (if that is what they want). That isn't "entitlement" that is a WANT that some customers want and it is up to Valve to decide whether they want to cater for that "want". There are good reasons from a PC gamers perspective with regard to wanting it to be a PC exclusive. I personally couldn't care less myself I lost interest in the half life series long ago.

The only reason I am posting in here is because I am sick of people bringing out this "entitlement" rubbish. Yes we are entitled to state what we want in our products because we PAY their bills.

You know what I love about most PC gamers, we don't get any really large exclusives these days, but console gamers do all the time. We always get shafted and we put up with crappy ports with crappy gameplay all the time.

I feel like hopping into a time machine and going back to HL1's release. FPSes and RTSes were on PC, consoles had platforms, sports games and "arcade" games.

Don't see HL3 being exclusive although that would be sweet as we get more effort and quality put into the game. If it is multiplatform, they should at least support DX10-11 or make a new physics engine exclusive to the PC.

What difference does it make? What makes valve game great has nothing to do with technical graphics.. Seriously and people call console gamers shallow, when I see pc gamers hollering to high heaven about wanting cutting edgegraphics.. Who cares, cutting edge graphics is not whats going to have you coming back to play the game over and over again. This should be towards the BACK of the list in what we should demand of a sequel..

Enjoy the game on your console then, and don't get bothered by a PC hard like me asking a developer for preferential treatment(which is reasonable considering the hardware gap between PC and consoles).

What your suggesting is the most minimal and trivial thing to gain from a pc from a console.. I would rather the game be deep, modability, have good UI and options over anythingcoming close to graphics at the end of the day.. If people seriously think the main strength the pc has over the console is graphics, well then there is no point discussingthis further.

A clear misundersanding as requesting that Valve make additional enhancements exclusive to the PC did not imply i'm a gamer who places graphics above gameplay and presentation. But i do place a little bias towards music i'll admit that.

[QUOTE="biggest_loser"]What does it matter when Valve puts the PC platform first? DanielDust
It doesn't, but some are just weird that way, the biggest graphical achievement Valve ever had was AA in HL 2, their games are about art, which is why Source still looks good with only the minor updates and enhancements it had since 2004, Portal 2 is outdated in every way possible, but it's clean and the art is outstanding it makes it look much better overall than it really is and it makes it look much better than more advanced games.

reminds me of how uncharted games look so much "better" than any other console game and "proves" the power of the ps3. Aesthetics go a long long way.
