[QUOTE="Maroxad"][QUOTE="vfibsux"] Problem is the typical MMO player doesn't care about story and does not even read the quests, they just race around finding question mark guys, click the accept button on all of them, and go kill 10 of this and bring back 10 of that, and deliver this to that guy over there so he can give you another accept button to click and you can deliver something to a new zone and start all over again. Story? Reading? Why.....that would slow down leveling!Birdy09
The problem is the poor storytelling, that is why people are uninterested. With Bioware quality storytellling, they might get people to actually care. If anyone has the potential to make us care about the story in an mmo it is Bioware. And this is coming from a Bioware hater.
No, poor storytelling is NOT the problem, MMOs are player driven, the primary focus is competition or cooperative play with other players. This mixing of SP and MP will result in alot of people still skipping that 100s millions of wasted money on in a heartbeat.MMO's are content-driven. Players are just there for the ride, with the possible exception of those niche sandbox / building-type MMO's I probably can't even name.
I never understood the people who say MMO's should be down to one formula, and then we get others who insist that the mainstream selection is all made up of a bunch of clones / just not diverse enough.
