You could always still take your parts to a local computer store and have them assemble it. Stores like these usually charge ~$50 to do it :P

If it doesn't fit, it wouldn't matter if he knew how to build a computer or not .... it doesn't fit. Now, if it does fit and just needs to be adjusted, you can do like the above poster said and take it somewhere or look up a YouTube tutorial. The cables from the power supply should have labels on them. You don't have to plug in every cable.

Take it to a computer store to assemble it, won't cost you too much extra.

Don't worry. It is a common error, not that big of a deal. Like someone said before, you could easily modify the case to accept the heat sink. You could also return the item. I believe newegg charges a restocking fee on opened items. Next time double check the measurements. Some coolers these days are enormous, so it is good to get into the habit of double checking the specs.

You could always use the stock cooler to go ahead and build the PC. Replacing the cooler doesn't take anymore than 15 mins when the new one arrives. That is, unless you bought an OEM CPU.

lol, use the stock Heat sink and fan, put the aftermarket cooler you purchased back in the box and return it. Then if you want buy something that fits the dimensions of your case later. Your computer will still work 100% fine with the stock parts, getting the stupid aftermarket cooler is only for hardcore folk who overclock the cpu to its utter limits. My cpu is running on the stock heatsink and fan and I overclocked the cpu to 3.33 ghz and the temperature is still only 37 degrees celsius at idle and about 45 at load.

It's not the heat sink it's the radiator, I installed everything including the back plate on the mother board so now I need to take everything out in order to use the stock cpu fan. I was also having some trouble with the psu and some extra plugs on my cpu that where not used so I didn't really know what to do as my mother board isn't labeled very well.

Case - Rosewill cruiser

psu - corsair cwch70 rt

Mb- Asus m4a88td-v evo 880g r

GPU - VGA Sapphire hd6850

Cpu - AMD phenom II X6

HDD - 1TB Samsung hd103sj

Lol, that's some bad placement for the rear 120mm fan. I'm assuming you're hitting the side panel fan when you try to install the radiator? If so, just take the side panel fan off if you really want that H70 working. But it also looks to possibly be blocked by how close it is to the top, which in that case you're SOL :?

okay now to make things easy you just connect the following your motherboard has two connectors a big one with 24 pins and a small one with 4 pins : connect em both Put your ram in there, make sure it's put in properly Put your video card in there, connect the extra power connector don't connect any disks or optical drives If you have already connected everything for your buttons on your case , leave it You should have more room now to work, take out your cpu , there's a handle at the cpu socket, lif the handle , see if it's properly in there, if you have broken the pins the cpu is broken, if they are folded you have to straighten em out. Put the cpu in the socket, close the handle. After you've done that put the stock cooler on there, it should fit it's made for it, i don't know about your other cooler since you didn't posted it specs. Remember the cooler has a cable that has to be attached to the motherboard. After that boot the pc, it will boot without drives. then reply If there's cable's in the way that you've connected while putting the cooler in disconnected them and connect them after you installed the cooler

The cpu you is fine I made sure I installed that correctly, im going to go do what you said. also the connectors for my fans will not connect to the psu connectors even though they look like a exact match. The cooler was a corsair H70 but looks like im returning that and using the stock cooler for now. Also my stock heat sink has pre-apply thermal paste should I wipe it off for this test since I bought a tube of it?

And don't forget to remove the plastic from the bottom of the OEM Heatsink. I think they have the paste pre-applied?

I am surprised, however, that someone recommended water cooling to someone who has never put a PC together :(

Edit: The stock thermal paste should be fine. If you haven't done it before, I would leave it on instead of risking causing too much scraping.

Cooling paste is overrated i don't even use it and i play games all the time . The connector for the fan for you stock cooler should be connected with the motherboard not too far from your cpu-socket

Okay, does the stock cooler have a back plate because I have one but I can't remember if it came on the mb or with the stock fan. I think it was already attached to the mb. If I do need it I have to take everything out of the case in order to put it in.

what do you mean by back plate. If that other cooler was watercooling it probably came from there. A stock cooler only has a heatsink and a fan and if you didn't seperate them.... I would just remove the back plate i can't see any use for that.

Okay I have the mb all set with the back plate on it, should I go ahead and connect my cases stuff to the motherboard because it seems like it will be easier if I do it before I put in the GPU. Also is my graphics cards fan supposed to be facing up or down because it was facing down before which would have meant the gpu's fan and the psu would have been blowing at each other.

okay now just do like i said in my first post. Boot the system without drives and see what it does, attach a screen and keyboard. Look if you're able to go into bios. Check if your cooler doesn't make too much noise because then you can just keep the stock cooler.

just start with one side first and then do the other. If you can't do it with your hands use a screwdriver but be carefull that you don't ruin the motherboard. If you make mistakes don't go crazy, it isn't ruined that fast, just try to be carefull.

if you're done with that you have to go into the bios(setup, you'll have to press a key noramally it's delete or f2) and look if your bios have found the harddisk and optical drive. Then you have to put the boot order to this 1 st cd-drive, 2nd harddisk, 3 and on doesn't matter. Make sure you save when you exit the bios. Then you put your windows cd in the optical drive and reboot your pc. The install procedure will start just follow on screen instructions. If you have a question just ask i will look regurarly but i just installed dead space 2 and i'm dying to start lol
