Wow, talk about bringing back an old thread. Just got all 3x Stalker games, and just starting to play Chernobyl (first one). Trouble is the graphics are worse than a Nintendo Wii. Then I have noticed this mod. So just to clarify this mod brings Chernobyl up to par with the effects lighting and Ambient Occlusions that Clear Sky and SOP have? Including wet surfaces, proper water effects etc? If so then I must get this, the only thing I don't want in it though is the gameplay changes such as AI and the no ending mode. When installing is there options to select what you want. I jsut want Chernobyl graphics better.

Best your going to get for a graphics only mod I'd say. Theres a few AI changes which didn't really hurt, such as enemies actually using grenades, they actually move around anomolies rather than straight through them and they can no longer see you perfectly from miles away even in pitch blackness.
Actually when its near pitch black at night during a firefight you can turn your torch off, you can't see a thing and unless they shine theirs directly on you.. they can't see a thing either even if your quite close. I thought that was kinda cool.
Other than thats its mostly graphical, with a grammar redo, altering the weapons names to their real-world counterpart etc.
Its the least gameplay-changing mod I've seen. Plus you can actually turn off what you want to using the modifier tool and set everything back to their default vanilla game settings.
As for the no ending, I'm trying to figure out how to get the credits rolling after the final "final" ending scene myself.
buy it on steam for 20 bucks, and talk of cracks on here can result in banning.I have a cracked version of this game (not a hard disc or direct2drive) and whenever I install this mod, it says it cannot find the game disk. I try to reinstall the crack after installing the mod but then it gives me a error message and will not even run the game.
Will complete 2009 work with this cracked version? Or do i need to get a disk version in order to play with it on?
thanks for any help
