Yeah the character gear is really, really low-res.does anyone know why the regular pc digital version is temporary unavailable?
I was thinking of doing a pre-order and hopefully get early access but the site says the regular version is temporarily unavailable and i sure as hell dont wanna pony up for the deluxe version for trinkets that wont matter later.
I guess they cant cope with the demand and closed the order fore regular version but it think it really blows that they are forcing you to get the deluxe version if you want to try to get in today which looks suspicious....that really blows and is gimmicky if you ask me. already they are trying to squeeze you out of your money and the game is not even out...
anyone running into this also?
[QUOTE="lx_theo"][QUOTE="Steameffekt"] Yeah, I hope they cancel their pre-orders. TOR doesn't need a community like that. FelipeInsideNah, I hope they quit after giving Bioware their money. It'd serve them right. Yeah, this is what I'm worried about, but honestly it's gonna happen and there is nothing we can do about it. Some servers will be full of 12 year olds complaining about noobs and the likes. It would be a dream if ToR had the same mature community as something like LOTRO, but we all know it's not going to happen.
I am still baffled at the "12 year old claims".. The jackasses and people who complain are the same "hardcore" that constantly post in forums with constant one ups-menship... In my experience its nto the casuals that ruin a community its the try hard hardcore peole that take it too seriously.
[QUOTE="IxX3xil3d0n3XxI"][QUOTE="Steameffekt"] Any major differences from beta?FelipeInsideNothing major from what I can tell. A few bugs fixed and some things working better in my 6hrs of playtime. I am on Bondar Crystal republic side atm. I was going Sith but most of my friends are republic and dont want to play alone. =/ Do they have AA enabled? Has the framerate at least being fixed?
AA has been removed from the settings!
They are going to implement it in a patch.
You can enable AA by adding this line to the client_settings.ini - "AntiAliasingLevel = 4" (without quotes)
Mine is set at 4. Haven't tried 8 yet but a lot of people have and it's been working great for them. Just having it set at 4 really helps the whole world come together graphically.

Yes, I agree. "12 year old" is probably just the expression I used but I've come across BOTH. Little boys in WoW who think they know it all and don't even know how to talk/write = 12 year olds Hardcore gamers that punish you and call u noob and want u out of the party at the slightest mistake in a dungeon = Hardcore FanboysSo, for those playing and based on what you've seen ...
Is SWTOR a 1) Buy 2) Not Buy 3) hold off until they polish the game?
Thanks!

I don't mind people getting removed from grps if they continuously don't have any idea how to play. My point is when you do just a small mistake, or ask a basic question and they just rage and call you Noob.Definitely 1. I'm playing it right now (finally got into Early Access) and it's great fun. Of course like any new MMO, things need to be polished but I trust BioWare are working around the clock to get everything perfect and new patches/expansions in the horizon. So, for those playing and based on what you've seen ...

If you still haven't gotten into Early Access, you WILL get into the game tomorrow if you pre-ordered before the last week of Novemeber. Everyone else.. Friday.

You brought me great news young JEDI. :D On other news, I just received a email from Amazon.com saying my order will arrive sooner than expected! Dec. 16, 2011 is your new arrival date for SWTOR. Woot! I also purchased the SWTOR (physical) security key. Can't be too safe. Plus, it looks so cool. I'm a collector so I had to get it. :D Cost like $8.If you still haven't gotten into Early Access, you WILL get into the game tomorrow if you pre-ordered before the last week of Novemeber. Define framerate issues lol. I don' think I experienced any. Or does the game run better than beta? It's hard for me to forget since I'm playing KOTOR 2. :lol:Cant wait to try teh game, luckily the new BF3 maps are just fantastic, played them for awhile today, totally forgot about waiting for The Old Republic email :P

i stand corrected on my previous comments. I was able to order the regular version of the game despite the site leading you to believe otherwise. Now all i have to do is download a 25 GB download and wait for my invite and then run around and see for myself.

The final game I played this morning had all the graphics options on HIGH (Max) and also AA at 2.... and it worked smoother than WoW.

I've decided I'm going to give this game a pass, at least in the beginning.
A few things went into my decision: One, I can't stand the lack of customization in the game. If I play a Jedi, I want to play the class my way(within reason). I don't think it's unreasonable to let me choose which kind of lightsaber I want to use, no matter what advanced class I choose. This also goes for blasters. There's no reason I shouldn't be able to choose whether I want to use a carbine, or a blaster-rifle as a bounty hunter. Bounty hunters didn't just use pistols, you know.
Second, I can't stand the iconic class path the developers took. Boba and Jango Fett were very unique. They were amongst a few bounty hunters who used jet packs. I can't get over the fact that every BH now gets to use a jetpack.
Third, wookiees aren't playable. Nothing is as iconic to the Star Wars universe as Wookiees. There's no reason they couldn't have implemented them.
Four, I think I pretty much burned myself out on the beta. I spent at least three months playing the s*** out of this game, and it just doesn't give me a thrill to play it anymore.
Fifth, and the most important, I simply don't have enough time to play this game. I used to be heavily into MMORPGs, but things have changed.
Anyway, I have no doubt it's going to be a great game, and maybe these problems will be addressed at some point.

Very insightful. Although I agree on some points I would like to respond to some of your points.
Number one is Wookies. I agree it should be a playable race, heck maybe in a future expansion. But the only Wookies I remember from KOTOR were Zalbaar and that BH Wookie from Nar Shadaa in KOTOR2. I don't think it would fit the game to see Wookie Jedis and Commandos running around.
Number two. Although BH can use carbines and pistols, I agree it's a bit of a shame you have to change specializations to use them properly or use them if all.

I think many of these complaints would be legit if not in the form of an MMO. The limitations to some of the customization you desire give meaning and reasoning to rolling a specific class. Which I feel is needed. As far as playable wookies, I completely agree in the sense that they need a more diverse race system besides.. "The purple human, the red human, the blind human, the human human", but I do not know if Wookie is a valid option. Since the game is boasting it's voice over's so much, a forever wookie whelp would be highly irritating after a few minutes.
Reason 4 and 5 are legit though, 3 months of any game can cause burn-out, and MMO's do take time for progression.

Well, there is more to Star Wars than just the video games. Chewbacca, for instance was in the movies, books AND a couple video games. Wookiee warriors exist in every facet. Chewbacca didn't start off as a smuggler, he was depicted as a warrior in RoTS.
BHs can only use pistols, or dual pistols. Which is egregiously inaccurate. Like I said, I dislike the ":conic" path they took with classes. It doesn't capture the vastness of Star Wars, to me.

Heard these excuses before. SWG had everything I just listed. It's far from impossible to implement anything I suggested.
A class has "meaning" by nature of the class, not the way a player chooses to customize. So I think the lack of customization is due to sheer laziness on the part of Bioware, which is a shame.

Ahhh, but did SWG have all that at launch or later down the track? Give BioWare a chance.... They haven't even launched yet. Then it's even more shameful that customization and uniquity lost out to some developers idea of distinction. Settling for things being okay is laziness. The game would have been better if they took a page from SWG.
