Street Fighter 4 is about to make a HUGE impact on PC gaming.

Stree Fighter 4 is about to release on Steam. It's going to sell a ton of copies and be by far the most popular fighting game on PCs, ever. It will be the first fighter on PC to have a large, active, long term community.

Ok, I don't actually know for sure that all that is true, but I think it could happen. Street Fighter 4 on Steam should easily sell tens of thousands on the first day. The only thing that could go wrong is a poor job of porting.

i think it will sell more at retail because Steams prices for new games are to high+ 1$=1€, if i buy Street Fighter 4 from a shop i save more than 200 kr =20$

pretty much, he apparently forgot that final fantasy 7 was a ps1 game and was so requested on pc's that it was ported, same goes for ff8. these 2 are just off the very top of my head as im sure theres many others.

and if he tries to come back with "ff7 was terrible etc etc" he should check out the scores given to it from any gaming website. in fact, it's so good people are still trying to patch vista to play it.

I think it's gonna be the best fighting game on PC since Virtua Fighter 1.

Saleswise? I doubt it, most people already have it for their consoles.

well if i went to buy a fighting game i would get it for a console, i wouldnt want to sit here tapping keys and **** i would rather be on my 360 or soemthin with my mic and consoles have CONTROLERS i know you can get controllers for your comp but why go buy the gear and the game to play on your pc when you can just go buy the disk and play it on a console....i dont think sales will be so great for this on pc. i know you wanna play online, but consoles have online gaming capabilities.....xbox-cod

Why go buy the game on PC?..... because PC gamers have gaming-PC where they can play it. PC Gamers can use keyboard&mouse or ps3 and xbox gamepads if they want to. and PC users will rather use keyboard&mouse playing first person shooter (and some battle) games like people all over the world use it which means it is universal and PC elevated it.and if you dont think sales will be great on PC, so WHAT? thats not even your business. and no PC gamer said that console doesnt have online gaming capabilities. Most PC users are mature enough not to say anything about console cos most of them own it too. so stop being a troll in here and leave PC alone.

oh u dont have to say that here, PC users understand that fact. i dont even see a competition in sales. Cos there are lot of families who own a console and PC are more for individual. Some console users trade games back. and most PC gamers dont. So I dont see competition when it comes to sales

cant wait for it also on a side note i think MS should release all games on PC which require there controller(or any third party) i mean just coz a game is better played on controller should not be a criteria coz we are now in 2009 all gamers should be given equal oppurtunityparaskhos_basic

Fighting games don't do well on PC. That's the reason we're seeing so little of them. Not because of poor ports or because of controller issues but because there is little interest in the first place. SF4 isn't going to change that.

PS3 and Xbox360 controllers both work with PC's so if you've got either console and a sweet gaming PC why would you want to play on a console?

This might be the reason for me to get back to fighting games. Last one I played was Tekken3 on PSX. Let's just see how it turns out/community. I'm a bit afraid this game will get macroed the hell out of it...

HUGE impact on PC gaming is much too optimistic LOL, but I certainly hope the game does well "enough" for Capcom. Perhaps not overly significant, however, it's still nice to see the extra attention given to the PC version (e.g. additional rendering modes, optimization, bundle, etc).

I rarely pre-order games, but I did with this one quite a while back.

Huge impact? Doubt it. Decent game? Yeah.

Considering the fact the only other major fighting game it's going against is freeware, insanely modable, and has been out for years with mods emulating almost every 2D fighting game ever made, the odds are stacked not in SF4 favor.charrr1234

Exactly..PC has one or two good fighters already (contrary to popular belief), but Mugen is not among them. It may be quirky and fun, but no fighting game player takes it seriously. None of the good fighters on PC have native online play support as SF is going to have, either.

The only decent (and modern) PC fighters are Guilty Gear, the Melty Blood franchise, and a couple other Japanese fighters of doujin origin.

I'm glad to see a major fighting franchise making its way to PC.
