Team Fortress 2 Beta

For those of you who don't know. If you pre-ordered "Orange Box" on steam, prior to Sept 17th, you get into the TF2 beta which is supposed to start today.

I am still waiting for the beta to get unlock. Rumor is, it unlocks at noon. Boo! Post your feedback about the beta here once you get it up and going!

Yea I was just chking steam and wondering where do you get the beta once it is unlocked? Does it just show up in your games section of steam or where? Thanks for any info.cupsta

u have to preload TF2 once u have pre purchased the orange box. the preloaded TF2 will be unlocked for beta at noon.

Where did everyone get this information from? What timezone is this time quoted from as well? I am in GMT so i guess its either 5-8 hours after 12:00 in American timezones.

Well i'm from the UK and its currently 18:12pm GMT. So how long till its 12 noon in the states?

I'm all preloaded and waiting to get my game on with this BETA lol

WOW, So i'm searching around trying to find a time for the release. GUESS WHAT, they aren't giving a time, that 12:00 time is a rumor from what i gather. One of the devs on the halflife forums, is quoted saying, "they aren't sure when they will release it, but sometime later tonight"

Now, i have to say something. Me and countless other have paid our money, you have it valve, the least you could do, is give us an exact time. Is that to much to ask? I mean isn't that something normal, especially when your spamming adds for it all over. They have to know there is alot of people tweaking out, waiting for the beta. Why be jackoffs and not be professional about it. If only these companys could be as good at customer relationships as they are at making the games, or promoting games.

So true, they suck at customer relations but have amazing games!

Although i'm worried that they'll release the TF2 BETA at like 2pm or 5pm USA time when it will be like 11pm here in the UK. So really i'll have waited all day to play TF2 BETA when i can only play it for a few hours before i head to bed for work.

I am so pissed i have been waiting since this morning to play this valve execs are too busy counting all the money they have made that they forgot to UNLOCK THE DAMN GAME. If the game is not released before the day ends i predict Riots going off all aver the planet.superusa2002

Really? why would they do that, it's a great marketing ploy if they just keep it going.

FYI, it still says you get in the beta on the steam store front page.

i would imagine the offer extends as long as the beta does, they have no reason to stop letting people in, and it would hurt them in preorders to stop the offer.

the orange box is still cheaper than buying ep 2 + tf 2 + portal, which i wanted all three.

It's still currently Monday where Valve are (west coast of the United States), and PST is the time they're going by. A Valve employee has said that the game will unlock late in the day, which I'm guessing will be in approximately 2 hours.Einhanderkiller

Half-Life 2? I'm pretty sure I was able to play that at midnight.
