Ah...brushing up on your bullet time skills,....smart, something tells me your polishing your guns for Max Payne 3. I hope it delivers, so far trailers look great, even though we have to wait for consoles to get theirs first. Oh well good things come to those who wait.
System Shock 2.... Can't play it because im too scared
Grimlim
System Shock, and System Shock 2 have to be some of the scariest, and the most edge of your computer chair games ever created, I suggest day time play only, and a really bright light in the room. :o
Diablo 1
I've had it since my first computer which was a Pentium 1 200Mhz, 64MB ram, 3D Voodoo Banshee (I think it was 32MB Vram) and Windows 95. Ha! And to think back in the day we payed 20$ for it... How times have changed (I'm sure there's people with older PCs that will reminisce the days they owned one).
trastamad03
My first Intel rig was a 486SX33 running a Matrox Mistique 4mb card. Back in that day my newly discovered first 3D shooter styled game was Tomb Raider, incredible in it's day. From that day I was hooked! (In fact I still have it, and can run it with DOS-BOX)

Ya back when Core was the developer. I still have my copy of Tomb Raider as well. Gold Edition.Fallout. GoG releasing it free, but regardless i hated it kris9031998
Let me guess... you hated the time limit and lack of direction.
My family still plays Age of Empires 2 together regularly. I am having my son play through Half Life plus Opposing Force and Blue shift.
I've been playing through Wasteland again in anticipation of Wasteland 2. I've also been messing around with Wizardry 7 and Ultima Underworld.
Lineage 2. The server I'm currently playing on is running Interlude, which is from 2006. I haven't been playing anything else much the past month...
Liero ... try and beat that !
Code135
Liero came out, if Wikipedia is to be believed, in 1998. That's not that old at all.
Installed Thief Gold, patched with the community fixpack so everything works great. I never got past the first Gold level, so I'm looking forward to a free night to turn off the light, put on some headphones and play what is probably the most immersive game ever.
Also, it's fascinating just how level design changed during the 15 years since the game's release. Thief levels are really, seriously huge. It's much easier to treat the game world as an actual place when you aren't limited to corridors. Also, it messes with my completionist attitude in that it's pretty pointless to try and see everything - you just have to treat it like a stage to complete your objective rather than the rollercoaster ride mentality enforced by current design.
So yeah, a really good game.

Topic is "What is the oldest PC game you have booted up and played recently?" and I'm still playing Liero ... that's not old at all ? Go check other posts and compare where is 1998 and where is 2003-2004 ...
I recently got Red Alert 2 working again, I was so excited that I finished the Allied campaign and half of the Sovjet campaign in 1 night.

More that i had no idea what was going on, both direction AND gameplay wiseStarted up yet another playthrough of Fallout one. I still love it, although I really am not a fan of Fallout 3.
Unreal 1 with HD textures. Think it's actually the longest FPS I've ever played, been playing it for 20 hours and I'm about 60% through it.
