i think it will be a LONG time due to the large amount of players, there will just be more and more expansions and WoW will soon take over the world and enslave our wives and children!!! :o But what do you think?

Either when World of Starcraft comes out, or when World of Warcraft 2 comes out.

I'm betting more on World of Rock N Roll Racing or World of Lost Vikings!!!
It won't die off, but other MMO's will come and chip away at its userbase. Blizzard themselves is already developing a new mmo so who knows?
Even if that happens I doubt all those people who have spent thousands of hours will transfer unless they get there old accounts.. and if Blizzard dont do that they will lose a large portion of the community as well as split it up..Either when World of Starcraft comes out, or when World of Warcraft 2 comes out.

I think that it will lose some power when Fallen Earth and Project V13 take fantasy-overdosedusers away.
I think it has a solid 2-3+ years of life before the true decline begins, and even then it will take a long time to bleed off. Even if it lost 90% of its pop base it would still be number one in monthly profits. They will never lose their superpower status, because they have pretty much pushed the old quest/grind play style as far as it can go. That is why lately every mmo released lately that uses similar play mechanics is absolutely crushed. Love or hate, even with its weaknesses no one does it like Blizzard. Wow will last as long as people are interested in that style. Blizzard is now taking all the great ideas that went into warhammer online and have begun reverse engineering them into wow (achievements, rvr, dailies, etc) in pieces. If they are able to sucessfully integrate these ideas, wow has the potential of being around for a very long time, even considering blizzard released new titles.
IMO, the only thing that will kill wow is the same thing that kills every succesful mmo. At some point the level cap is going to become ridiculous and the lower game will be crushed under it...that is if they don't overhaul the game as a whole. No game company in the past could do it. Blizzard however has a great shot. They are going to show what they can do with virtually unlimited resources.
i think when guild wars 2 comes outmayforcebeyou
I'm going to add Guild Wars 2 to the list of games that were supposed to kill wow but only managed to get bruised up in the process.
Warhammer Online, Vanguard, Tabula Rasa, Lord of the Rings Online....and others.
Rule #1 : Blizzard can't be beaten at their own game, no matter how great the contender. You just can't argue with the numbers. They win every time.
Whoever plans on even thinking about taking on the monster that is wow will have to bring their A game, and then its a flip of the coin whether or not many of wow's players even take a look.
World of Kojima is going to blow all of those mmo's outta the wata!Pvt_r3d
Whatever! Nothing will stand up to the might of...World of Hello Kitty!!!

When Uwe Boll joins the gaming industry.

Uwe Boll is a GOD! No one makes better movies than him, no one! :P
No one knows this yet.... and I'm not supposed to say anything cause I signed a confidentially contract.... but I'm gonna spill it out anyways: Uwe Boll is one of the new DEMIGODS !!![QUOTE="silentassasin05"]When people get a life. :PexplasivTHIS!! That's so sad.... I play WoW and have a life.... but I agree lots of people give up their life for WoW....
When people start realizing how much better guild wars is, i dont play either anymore, u just think guild wars was much better as a gameonehandmastersorry should say i not u think, (i and u are right next to eachother and i always put the wrong one in)
I've only been playing WoW for 5 months. As long as they keep adding new people like me, it will be the force it is for years to come.

WoW can only defeat itself or if Blizz come up with a better MMO. They have found out the secret formula of luring in casual gamers the size of nations and turning most of them into hardcore players.
For SW:Tor, they can always do a Starcraft MMO.
We ALL know(yes, we all really do on a subconcious level) that IF it makes a Starcraft MMO, Blizzard already ensure it will get, at minimum, 48,379,392 subscribers. (yes thats the current extimate of South Korea's population.)

I forgot about this, then glanced over it again and it just re-made my day. LMFAO no joke.I think the next time we see a MMO do as well as WoW has it will be a Blizzard game.
WoW is unique, the kind of money needed to reproduce it's success just isn't on the table.
Typically, most MMO's have 3-year development cycles but WoW had 7! Love it or hate it, it did what a lot of games were failing to do and gave the customers what they wanted - no death penalties, casual gameplay in a market dominated by grind-fests, good items available to the majority, mounts, etc. etc. + plenty of small detail, humour and a high level of polish. Nothing ground breaking just a bunch of things done right.
WoW's subscription numbers will fall though. Players will burn out replaying the same content over and over. I think we'll see them start to take a dip from that this year as they've made some pretty fundamental mistakes with Wrath of the Lich King. But I think only Blizzard can provide the challenger to it's own throne if they are to loose subs to another game.
Have you played other PAID MMOs? Although Runes of Magic is very well done for a free game.... it has heaps of issues and it not as polished as paid onesThe best MMO in my opinion it's Runes Of Magic, it has better art design than WOW for me and the best PVP system (PVP server) and it's completly free! I'm surprised that people on this foruns haven't even tried it already...
