It was less than that on various sites(even now), though that's a pretty big drop.

Publishers are greedy and they know people will buy it.

I can't wait until they start charging $70. Or $80. Games are just way too cheap. Especially Black Ops - that game is worth $100 at least.

Why stop at $100? Lets crank it up a notch to $150? :)

[QUOTE="monkey_muffin"]Thats not exactly fair. They don't have to pay to put thier games on the PC like they do with consoles. Doesn't that border price gouging?Wasdie

How is it not fair?

You're getting the same exact game as others pay $60 for.

Don't give me that "licensing is expensive." Licensing to make games on the consoles is not nearly the millions it costs for all other parts of game deveopment.

Gaming isn't cheap. I thought we all knew this. Game development costs have risen exponentially over the years. Did everybody expect these big-budget titles to cost less?

Also, you all should know that DirectX requires a licensing fee.

This really only applies to these big budget blockbusters. Games from devs like Paradox don't sink the millions into the game development, so they don't run nearly as much on costs so they can afford to release games for cheaper. High production values are extremely expensive.

Well maybe developers should spend more time making good gameplay instead of more flashy games that offer little to no gameplay change or improvement over their predecessor. Also, shouldn't DD make games cheaper?

I just wait a couple of months until it goes on sale somewhere..I don't buy games day of release anymore.

And with all the Digital Download sites vying for customers now a days , it doesn't take long before games start droppping down to reality in price.

I'd rather pay 39.99 3 months from now then 59.99 today, besides I got a log jam of games I need to finish before I even start thinking about this months releases.

I might have gotten Crysis 2..but after the demo..pass ! I'll wait until it's cheaper.

I wait until games hit the bargain bin.

Currently playing Dead Space, the original.

The game is nothing to write home about, combat is repetitive and fairly dull, there is almost no variety in terms of gameplay and level design.

But I got it on the cheap, so I'm not complaining.

Activision could release a 30 minute COD game, and fanbois would still pick it up at $60.

PC Gamers proved back with COD MW2 taht they were willing to pay 60 dollars without much fuss outside of empty threats. So I'd expect 60 to be the norm from major publishers.
