Finding time is always a piss poor excuse, one of those things that people need to stop doing (sorry my friends do it a lot and it annoys me lol). I worked 14.5 hours 5-7 days a week while playing Rift casually, so there's no excuse for someone to say "I don't have enough time" unless you did what I did and had to work a few of those 26 hour shifts then I'd believe the whole "I don't have enough time" excuse.

You can always make time to play an MMO, of course you might not be able to play for 4-12 hours or w/e how long you wanna play, but you can still play 30 min or so like what I did with Rift.

Sure, cause if you can make time then everyone else must have the same life as you and surely be able to make time too right? Why even post all that?

you have time to post between 20 and 50 times a day on this forum... you clearly have time to play an MMO.

who the **** are you trying to fool felipe?

Maybe he's at work, that's where I am when I post 95% of the time.

Besides why the hell would he be trying to fool anyone about if he has time for an mmo? Furthermore why the hell does anyone care?

Because some people just need to be assholes, it is like crack to them.

I just think it's so strange....this whole attack on Felipe over his own personal life and time.

Felipe: "I just don't have time to play enough to justify $15 a month."

Other Board members: "Oh yeah right you liar....what kind of bullshit shit are you tying to pull? You just think you don't have time, omg you suck and don't even try and get one past me I is way too smart for that!!!!"

Felipe plays SWTOR for a start... or did.... I dunno the amount of conflicts caused by alot of statements he makes leads me to believe that he knows what he is saying beforehand most of the time....

And Ballroom made a good point... I don't belive for a second that he hasn't the time.... and THEN it became about subs" .... as an observer.... it is a lame excuse. if he could play 10 hours a month thats still more value for money than most other forms of entertainement.

and as others point out. he spends a lot of time on here, considering his time zone... its not "in work".

So now I have to even explain my posting time and habits for a forum? My god this has gotten more than absurd (is there even a word for that?). This forum used to be such a great place before some people came along...

@MBirdy88:

What does him playing SWTOR have to do with anything?

The $$ worth of amount of time played is a personal opinion...nothing else. Maybe he just felt like it wasn't....so what?

Just an observation.... you do attract alot of attention with certain opinions dude... the problem here as I see it is... that you defended yourself with know justification or examples, e.g still argueing with ballroom despite not telling him what makes you so busy that for some reason you cant put 10+ hours a month into a game or whatever...

you treat this genre as if it was different to others... was his point... when its not.

Ignore them.

If it was free or a one time buy game I'd buy it, but because it's a game I have to buy and then pay a sub to I'm going with "I don't have enough time to sink into the game in order for me to justify the cost". I'm sure there are people who would think 10 hours a month is enough to justify the cost but not me, 10 hours a week would justify it but even then the game is just too grindy for me to sink 10 hours a week into in order for me to get my money's worth in the first place so for me it's not worth it and (for this game) I don't have the time.

Time is not static, 10 hours in Wildstar is not equal to 10 hours in Guild Wars 2. I have enough time to sink 10 hours into GW2 but not Wildstar, not worth the time(lol).

I'm not going to argue anymore with anyone regarding my game time. I can't even believe people took that much interest in it (I guess I AM special then). And this genre is a bit different cause it's based on monthly subscriptions.

I don't understand why it matters...

Maybe he needs time for the other games besides MMOs, maybe he works a lot, maybe he needs time for the forums, maybe he needs time to touch himself....whatever. How he prioritizes his time is his business. So when he says he does not have time it could be for any reason he likes and he does not need to answer to a bunch of people on the forums he doesn't even know.

What the hell....turning into the damn communist forums around here.

Exactly this.

@Geminon Geez dude, did you take the same crazy pill like everyone else did this week? What the hell is wrong with people lately?

I got attacked from multiple angles because some dude decided that he knew more about my life than I did, and then it went even more absurd from there, culminating in your last post which had my jaw open while reading it at how crazy it sounded.

The forums DID used to be a lot better. People would actually just talk about video games and respect each other, not go out on a warpath on each topic to try to "win" an argument with their own opinion. I guess some fault has to go to the mods and the new rules, because the crap that just went on here and goes on every day on these forums wouldn't have even allowed back 10 years ago.

This is the third AND LAST time I'm saying this, enough of this crap and enough of derailing threads for the heck of it. The topic was about Wildstar, and that's all I'm going to talk about from now on.

they did used to be better. and then you got a bunch of holier than thou aholes that moved in.... that were then countered by people that enjoy trolling them because of their banal attitudes. they are easy targets.

does it really matter at all now? no.... the forums are how they are, and it isnt going back. the mods cant do anything about it. they have picked their favorites, and all they do is enable everyone. the mods are the worst perpetrators in a lot of cases.

people can see your posting history felipe.... many of us have been reading your posts for a long time. you literally hype every major MMO to come along, so you clearly DO play MMOs.... and then wildstar comes along, and you trash it, and say you have no time to play MMOs and that is why it isnt worth your time...

your posting history says otherwise. that is why you are being called out. you have done nothing to refute what those of us who have been reading your posts for a long time know..... so you continue to get called out. you then change your tone to a completely different reasoning.... which is why you were called out yet again.

all so many of you on this forum says is "WHERE IS YOUR PROOF WHERE IS YOUR PROOF... YOUR OPINION DOESNT MATTER WITHOUT PROOF"....

and then, when you get called out for not providing what you constantly campaign for in other threads.... THOSE people are assholes?

excuse me but..... all i can do is give a big LOL to that....

Damn, I did it again. Sorry members, back to Wildstar if people will stop posting useless crap for once. I HONESTLY cannot believe that something so insignificant has caused so many posts.

if you really have that much going on (you dont, but OK, whatever).... then you seriously need to stop gaming. im being completely honest. gaming should not be part of your life as it requires, frequently, a significant time investment.

if you are REALLY doing all that (again, you arent, but ok, ill give it to you)... then you have MUCH better things to be doing than playing games.

i know we all want to sound like we have big dicks on a forum felipe but god... you lay it on too thick my man. all that and you still manage to post 20-50 times a day on this forum. you must have used all the money you make at those 3 jobs to buy a time machine....lol dear lord.

sigh, I really did not want to get involved but...

Felipe might not have time to play WildStar because the game is not as pick up and play friendly as his other mmos are. With the very confusing quest UI and buggy quests (which is probably why Felipe considers the quests confusing) he probably doesnt have the time to play the game, then figure out what the game wanted him to do and actually play and enjoy the game for the 15-30 minutes he has. With the way quests currently work, they really arent very supportive of the pick up and play style Felipe clearly likes (and there is nothing wrong with this style either, it is great for people on a tight schedule).

WOW.... just WOW.

Another person that knows my life better than me.... on top of that even called me a liar with describing my own life. Why would I even do that?

He even went one step further (if it was possible) and recommended that I STOP playing games. You and Ballroom should work as career advisors, I'm sure you would get "heaps of work".

Here's a few dot points for you so you can shut up for a while and stop wasting everyone's time:

* When I post on these forums I'm normally at work, or at home working or in-between stuff where I don't have enough time to game so I go on the internet and browse webpages while I post.

* Video games aren't my only form of entertainment. I watch TV Shows, I read books, I read comics, I read about stuff on the internet, I create stuff with Photoshop, I post on forums (yes, chatting with random people about video games is entertaining for me, except when people like you and Ballroom turn it into something absurd), I chat with friends, I play boardgames with my wife, I go out with friends, I watch movies etc.

* MMOs require a lot of time, and on top of that a monthly subscription. Yes, they can be played casually, and for that I would rather have something like GW2 where it's not chewing $15 a month out of my bank account. More if I want to play 2 or 3 MMOs casually ($45 x month).

* Everything I said in my post is true. I have 3 jobs (one full time), and building a house. I don't have to prove it or explain myself to you or anyone.

How old are you btw? Do you work? Study? Do anything other than play video games? Hopefully one day you won't get more busy and see your game time cut short, you wouldn't want a random internet person to attack you cause of that now would you....?

Just an observation.... you do attract alot of attention with certain opinions dude... the problem here as I see it is... that you defended yourself with know justification or examples, e.g still argueing with ballroom despite not telling him what makes you so busy that for some reason you cant put 10+ hours a month into a game or whatever...

you treat this genre as if it was different to others... was his point... when its not.

I attract attention? Am I special from the rest that I can't have an opinion? I guess because I sometimes differ from the general consensus that makes me an easy target right?

I'm not going to argue anymore with anyone regarding my game time. I can't even believe people took that much interest in it (I guess I AM special then). And this genre is a bit different cause it's based on monthly subscriptions.

Just an observation, I'm not personally bothered by it. so carry on. I think ballroom went too far with it myself, but just pointing out your follow up engagement with him did not do you any favours either... not that this should of been an issue in the first place... a freindly version of the same debate would of worked. But as I said for some reason you always end up entangled in this engagements. ;P

I'm seeing more of a "Subcription" arguement here than time... which rubs alot of people up the wrong way, because in their and MY perspective.... people look at an ongoing sub fee the complete wrong way, they make comparisons like "GW2 is great and has no sub fee" ... yet there are MANY shortcomings to that game's ongoing developement that annoy pro-sub people no end.

I have to pay £8 to see a film... a 2 hour film...sometimes less.... or £7.50 for a subway..... or hell £5-8 for 2 drinks on a night out... if I'm lucky. with logical reasoning an MMO subscription is better value than the other crap we spend on within a month... the whole issue is overblown.... yet is dramatically effecting this genre.... people not understanding the value behind it. kids without cards to pay monthly... understandable.

but then you've probably heard of all of this before. BUT THIS IS WHY PEOPLE GET RILED UP WITH THIS CONVERSATION.

I'm gonna leave it at that. only way to stop, its to stop talking about it.

Difference being that if you pay $8 to see a movie, you actually see the movie.

What's the point of me paying $45 x month to have 3 MMO Subscriptions if I don't have the time to play them? Get my point? That's where games like GW2 come in handy.

I get your point, but considering how much content one has.... why would you be subbed to 3? ... that kind of argument is why you get the gip that you received... its like a super-anecdotal what-if.

Why do you have to see every bit of content for it to be worthwhile? is not playing for the gameplay/development/teamwork not enough? besides... what MMO's these days can you not see close to everything other than hard-mode content?

@Geminon

Oh no, don't misunderstand me. I have done my fair amount of trolling GW2 so I don't claim to be "holier than thou" and trolling is not above me when I get bored.

That said I don't attack people unless I'm provoked. Attacking a game that I think is crap is one thing but accusing people of lying about their life when I don't even know them is not something I do. At least I can't remember ever doing that.

Why do you have to see every bit of content for it to be worthwhile? is not playing for the gameplay/development/teamwork not enough? besides... what MMO's these days can you not see close to everything other than hard-mode content?

exactly.... MMO gamers do not sub to multiple MMOs at the same time. they sub to one and put all their time into that game, unless they are part of the new wave crowd and then they just play the game for 2 days and move on to the next MMO.

i think you will be hard pressed to find many MMOers that sub to 2 MMOs... let alone 3. and Birdy is right, you dont need to play for 100 hours a month to get 15 dollars of enjoyment out of an MMO. if you play for 15 hours a month, that is a dollar an hour.... the absolute cheapest entertainment you can possibly find. people pay 60 dollars for games that provide far less than 15 hours of entertainment....

and i honestly cannot believe people complain about 15 dollars a month. i spend 3x that just going out to dinner ONCE... and my wife and i will typically eat out 3 or so times a month. just stay in one of those times, and bam, you suddenly just payed for 3 months of your MMO.

Felipe, you would have been far better served just saying "Im subbing to ESO right now and dont want to sub to any other MMOs".... THAT is a legitimate reason. saying you dont have time, or dont have the money, when by your own admittance you clearly do... that is why you are getting bashed left and right.

@Geminon:

Uh, I play and pay for 2 different MMOs. ATM it's WoW and ESO....I raid on Tuesday and Wednesday in WoW and play ESO when I'm in the mood. They offer two completely different styles of MMOs.

You are seriously everything that's wrong with these forums bundled up into one user, its remarkable. My question is why do you care? He said he doesn't have the time then he doesn't have the time. I'm not sure why people feel the need to set out and try to make him look like a liar.... I guess you people are just bored seeing as most of your arguments lack any sort of logic.

"why would you be subbed to 3?"

The simple reason that different MMOs offer different things. For example one day I might feel like playing a Sci-Fi MMO (SWTOR), another day I might feel like playing a fantasy one (ESO or GW2) and so forth. People have different games installed at once on their PCs, so why does an MMO only have to be one game?

"Why do you have to see every bit of content for it to be worthwhile?"

I don't. I'm the kind of guy that actually is left quite happy and satisfied if I just play 1 hour of a game and have fun for that hour. But I also run on a very tight budget, both in monetary form and time management form. Since my gametime these days is so limited (hopefully that changes in the future), I would rather have a product that is free there and I enjoy playing, rather than a product that is costing me money and does the same thing.

I realize MMOs have the best money to entertainment ratio, I've even used that in my arguments in the past, but in my personal case, if I have 2 products that do the same thing for me (entertain me), and I don't use that product that much, I would rather use the free option.

@Geminon I don't have the money, hence why I am not subbed to 3 MMOs and choose to play GW2. When I say I don't have the money doesn't mean I couldn't pay $15 a month, just means that it's not worth it on my current budget and limited gametime. Like others have said, why people care so much about this is beyond me.... I must be special.

You put so many constraints in place, yet throw a massive curve ball with the whole "because mmos offer different things I want to play them all" ...

1) sub to one per month and do the different things.

2) control yourself? pleanty of other genres to play ...

I dunno... for someone that has a lot of contraints your happy to you a blanket statement like that.... you have the discipline to do all this stuff.... yet for some reason need everything different in each mmo one day to the next.

obsurd... but if you want to role with this carry on... its ridiculous but your entitled to it... I guess.

I think you still miss the point.

Let me ask you. Do you have ONE game installed on your PC right now that you only play? Or do you have a few and play the one you feel like? Nothing wrong with variety. MMOs aren't the only genre I play. I have Titanfall and COD I play with friends, I have Hearthstone and Might and Magic if I feel like a TCG, I have Photoshop if I feel like editing photos, I have Kindle if I feel like reading, I have my PS4 when I feel like playing FIFA. So much variety, yet for MMOs you say stick to only one?

Again though, why do you or anyone else really care what I do with my time?

Back to Wildstar. RAID video, they look insane.

I've put about 8 hours into the game so far and it's surprisingly enjoyable. The world really feels full and there has been so much effort put into the little details. The combat is more varied and fun then other MMO's and the humor, while forced at times is a nice change.

This thread was suppose to be about the Wildstar beta, but it has clearly gone beyond that and become very offensive. At this time, I will be closing this thread. If there is anyone that would be interested in creating a new Wildstar thread (that could potentially become a sticky once the game is released), please contact me. Preferably someone who enjoys the game and accepts that other users will have some criticism.
