I quit my mage once people EXPECTED me to give them food and water and portals after a heroic. I'm not a **** vending machine. If I do play my mage it's only because my guild might want a dps instead of a healer or tank (rarely).
^- You can make tables with food now days. And there should be no problem for you to make a portal after a instace. And yes i have a mage :P.

I know, but regeants aren't free :P
And the people in my group were demanding it from me. I just told them to f off and ported out.

Looks like Blizzard is running out of ideas.
Was a good game pre-TBC, but I moved on a long time ago.

And you missed out on a great expansion in Wrath.....
wrath is by FAR the worst expansion of the two. ask the vast majority of die hard WOW fans... they all resoundingly agree that the game was made to easy, and to casual.[QUOTE="Roland123_basic"]looks like **** RIP WOW.... its about time. the game sucks now. Then why do you still play it? uh.... i dont. i havent played it for ATLEAST 4-5 months.[QUOTE="masterchief46"]
Well I know everyone saw the annoucement for the new expansion. My thought on this expansion is, it's going to be a smaller expansion, I love how they are revamping old Azeroth. I just don't think it's going to be a expansion like wrath. I think we might not even see emerald dream. Although there was just a tiny preview, I have concluded that we will, but blizzard is making it a suprise for a later date.
Comment on your thoughts, I am very intrested in what others have to say.

thats what people say every expansion and every expansion the number of subscribers just increase.
Don't pay him much attention, his WoW character logged on today. I checked. and what WOW character would that be hmmm? you have no idea what my characters name is. NO it is NOT roland. nor is it Dameaus..... GGLooks like it'll be a fun expansion, but I doubt I'll go back. You can only play a game so much before you can't stand it anymore, which myself and most of the people I played with over the years reached.
Why is it not worth playing a mage? I just made a new mage.....k0r3aN_pR1d3
Well for PVP, mages need a few seconds to cast a spell, whereas melee can do the same amount of damage with instant attacks. Considering how squishy mages are we should be able to deal a lot more damage.
For PVE, a mage can still do decent damage, but there are so many fights that involve a lot of movement that there's not a lot of reason to not just bring melee. Add to that the fact that mages generally have the lowest HP in the game and there's just not a good reason to bring one. I mean, nobody is going to miss that 41 INT buff when they have 20k mana pools. For now, if you want to be a cloth dps caster I'd roll a Warlock.

ignorant poster. mages devastate in pvp, ask any ice/fire mage. and other than highly skilled rogues, mages are pretty much #1 when it comes to dps. You clearly dont know what you're talking about. post is moot. For you and some others, you might have personal dislikes, but the majority obviously still liked the expansions as can be seen in the steadily increasing numbers over TBC and into WoTLK.If its more like classic wow and less like wotlk, Ill try it out. Every xpac has gotten worse though, I doubt the trend will reverse.

And there's so many fights that involve melee moving out, which means they need to run out of the way and then back, whereas a mage is a ranged class. And HP isn't a large issue in PvE. And mage dps is perfectly fine. I can post screenshots of recount next time I do a raid or 5-man with a mage beside me. All the classes right now can do damage, even my feral druid can put out a lot of damage now.

[QUOTE="Wrecked69"]For you and some others, you might have personal dislikes, but the majority obviously still liked the expansions as can be seen in the steadily increasing numbers over TBC and into WoTLK. Liked, doubtfully. Majority of people were too addicted to stop and bought and played the expansions even if they felt they were worse than pre bc. I was one of those people. And the increasing numbers are due to the fact that blizzard began catering the game to newbie players and casuals, a player base far exceeding that of the hardcore gamer or top player of the MMO. And for the skilled and longtime wow player, they continue to play in hopes that the game will improve, not wanting their years of dedication to go to waste. Either that or they are so used to playing wow as a part of their daily life, and have built many online friendships, it is difficult to just push that all aside. The strong willed ones are quitting or already have quit, and I applaud them. I just quit myself. If its more like classic wow and less like wotlk, Ill try it out. Very glad they are fixing up the old world so it's used more and has that 'new' smell. Flying mounts will be great. The races are boring and old and don't make much sense. Wish they would give something to the casuals like 1-3 player instances, epic quest lines that don't require a party of five, or pretty much anything that says 'hey, we know not everyone is a hardcore addict so we designed this for you'. A price cut, weekly rate, or even no rate would also help. I'm bored Bliz, you going to do anything about it? I think I'll be sticking with Borderlands for quite some time as they take the best parts of WoW and actually make it fun for either solo or with friends.Sins-of-Mosin

Indeed. Purples are meaningless right now. They even removed the fun from BGs and almost every challenge from the bosses.
Just glad I left.

People would rather have drama and confusion over who gets to roll for what gear I guess. I don't even play anymore, but I think it's actually a much better idea to do it that way than have gear drop and then have people in PUGs debate over who "needs" it the most....

Thats not what the 10 or 11 million subscribers care about :P. Personally i want to hear more on SC2 then WoW as I am not a fan of WoW but no more info to really give for it except a beta date.Seriously Blizzard we don't want to hear about WoW, we want to hear SC2 and D3.

After I saw the trailer, I'll admit I was pretty happy. But after quitting this game 8months ago, (before that, quit around season2 BC), I was pretty convinced that all the glam and aesthetics the trailer brings, WoW is going to and endless Arena/Raid grind like it always is. Thats Blizzard's role, thats my 2cents, thats repetitiveness at its finest.
Isn't grinding a part of every MMO? Some have more, some have less. I like that Blizz have actually thought about the low-level characters this time and redid maps and quests for them...After I saw the trailer, I'll admit I was pretty happy. Looks like best expansion yet. Love the idea of 2 new races and lots of new class combinations. And Azeroth will be completely different.
The only thing that really makes me happy about this expansion is they are going back to redo the old zones of Azeroth and update them with better, more exciting quests that will progress the Warcraft story and who knows may even carry on through WC4. As for the new races, goblins are fine because we al knew they were going to do it eventually. Worgens I can deal with, but I really hope they change the model of the human part into something that we can distinguish from the regular Stormwind humans.
so basically what you are saying is you like it when companies completely break the lore of a great franchise.... because that is what blizzard is doing you know. they are destroying warcraft's lore by allowing certain races to play as certain classes. seriously... gnome priest and night elf mage.... two of the most rediculous things i have ever heard.Looks like best expansion yet. Yeah, Blizzard totally needs to work on a new MMOG with a brand new IP. Gee, if only Blizzard would get to work on a new secret MMOG. They keep making WoW expansions, which obviously means they are not working on a new MMOG. Maybe some day they will post some jobs listings on their site for work on a new MMOG, and then later on they will publicly confirm that they are indeed working on one. That would be pretty cool, you know, if that ever happened, which it obviously hasn't.Blizzards' trying to milk every penny they can out of World of Warcraft. I think they should let the game die and develope a new MMO.

you know that the entire game is geared towards casuals now right? you can buy 4 pieces of your tier set with badges for crying out loud....I agree, way too many people have the Mimiron's head mount and "Hearld of the titans" title.I think they are ruining the game and making it for scrubby casuals.
Wrath is a freaking joke with it's diffuculty a monkey can raid in Endgame now.
This expack they are taking away spellpower and mp5 spellpower was a huge factor in theroycrafting and made it so people needed to have a understanding of that to do max dps now it's just going to be press buttons to win.
I miss old BC pre nerf of Vashj and Kael man those were the times real players were known!

"In World of Warcraft: Cataclysm the night elves will be able to become mages [3], using arcane magic. After the Sundering, night elven society foreswore the practice of arcane magic centuries ago, and would have a resistance against it, and even if they master arcane power they would suffer a painful transformation into a high elf, a change that cannot be reversed once it started.[4]. However, recently a Highborne agent sought an audience with Tyrande Whisperwind, to offer that they put their differences aside and combine their resources and skills to prepare for challenges ahead. This suggests that playable night elf mages could be Highborne night elves instead of the "traditional" variant players have been playing so far." Also, WoW has as much right in advancing the story of Warcraft as the previous titles in the series had.Looks like best expansion yet. Love the idea of 2 new races and lots of new class combinations.
