i think it will be more like 2 million behind the 360 by holidays. Its already 5 million behind 360 now. Its 3 million behind wii. And most halo fans have 360's already,and the PS3 has a WAY better holiday line-up than any other console( i really mean that,im not biased,i have all 3 systems)

Yeah I think that it will be something between 2-4 million, just to give a wide range.

And that is something really impressive if you take into account all the obstacles it poses to casual gamers: Price, Games, Negative Press.

But this is something that was gonna happen sooner or later, after all it has both Sony and Play Station on its name, thus it carries a lot of brand name to support it.

I dont care if it goes to the 360, Im getting it for ps3. Im not waiting an extra few months for it, it might not even be as good on the 360.

I think you guys are selling the 360 short. It's cheaper, has a bigger library of games, and has Halo 3 coming out, which is undeniably the biggest game release on the horizon...

So I dont see the PS3 catching up anytime soon. Not because it wont sell good, only because I dont see the 360 slowing down enough to allow it to catch up...

You're right, Halo 3 is going to be huge. Nothing on the ps3 can stop that, once the Halo 3 frenzy is over... thats when the ps3 has its chance.

yeah. it was at 11.6 million at the end of June 2007 so i sincrely doubt that they sold 2.5 million in 3 weeks

The 360 not slowing down? Where have you been for the past few months? Sales for the 360 have dropped a 60% in the last quarter. Did you think that shipping 11 million defective consoles was not going to affect their sales?

yeah. it was at 11.6 million at the end of June 2007 so i sincrely doubt that they sold 2.5 million in 3 weeks

the 11.6 million units is measured as units shipped not sold. So they aren't even that high yet.

As of July 26th, 2007:

Wii: 10 Million Sold

Xbox 360: 8.5-9.5 Million Sold

PS3: 4.5 Million Sold

I'm getting my estimations from Wikipedia and adding more since they are usually as of May-June 2007

My March 08' Predictions:

Wii: 18 Million Sold

Xbox 360: 13 Million Sold

PS3: 10.5 Million Sold if $399 version comes out then 11.5 Million Sold

most lemmings bought 2 or 3 360's because the 1st one died on them... that helps on the "sold" numbers lol

Anyhow, it's cool that Sony got this recent boost in sales, I'm sure they will increase even more by the time the 60GB model ends and they start selling the 80GB at the same price while giving the consumer the chance to buy games like Lair, Warhawk, White Knight Story (my personal favourite), Rock Band, Eye of Judgement, etc... just to keep it in 2007 :)

Xmas this year will be great = more PS3 selling + soon enough MGS4 will come out wich will be the biggest boost of them all.

By mid next year the ammount of PS3 sold should equal the 360 and pass it soon enough ;)

SHIPPED does not mean SOLD. Microsoft had SHIPPED 12 million consoles by March(I believe). That does not mean they have SOLD 12 million.

but whatever the case... Halo 3, regardless of what you think about the quality of the game, is the biggest selling console franchise that will boost sales like no other game.
