Anyone else enjoying the PS3 more so then you did the PS2?

Sony may not ever achieve PS2 type sales for the PS3 but they definitely achieved something more important to gamers, a much more fun system :D I loved my PS2, it was an awesome console but in terms of games I have to say PS3 is definitely where it's at. Sure their are some games missing from the PS3 library but give it a year and PS3 will have the most complete library full of amazing titles. I just need two more titles to forget about the PS2 :P Soon when GOW3 and Last Guardian release there will no longer be a hole in my library :D Not to mention this fall there are sooo many epic games.

What I'm saying is that PS3 is full of surprises, constantly delivering while I felt there were times with the PS2 when it just felt boring, PS2 got a lot more epic titles during the latter half of last gen. GOW is my fav franchise and it was released close to the end of PS2's lifespan, by which I mean a year before the release of PS3. Sony are definitely working for the gamers this gen, a reliable system, an active system since it's always updating and getting better plus with a lot more 1st party support, just how I like :)

i love the ps3. but ps2 is gaming consol god! today there are xbox and wii fanboys but it wasnt like that years ago. cause everyone had a ps2! and the ps2 has started one of the greatest franchises like gta and God of War. PS2 wins for me. ive had way to many memories to count on the ps2.

ps3 is my favouirte current gen console, but ps2 still has the edge over ps3 when it comes to games, When the last gaurdian and god of war 3 comes out then ps3 will start catching up for me, I still remember how immersive shadow of the colussus and Ico was, and final fantasy 10 to me was one of my favourite games of all time, then god of war come about and brought a new meaning to the word Epic. Amazing console the ps2 was.

I am most defiantly enjoying my Ps3 more than my Ps2. Games like MGS4,Uncharted, LBP, amazing multi-media access, and of-course the incredible graphics and online features....just make me smile:)

I am. I never had a PS2 long enough to really get into it. I actually got the bulk of my PS2 games when I already had my PS3 system.

Yeah eventhough the PS2 had a kickass library of games. Now if the PS3 were to get a decent amount of JRPGs then I would really enjoy my PS3.

Not yet, the PS3 library is still super small for me and I cant download any games that appeal to me. Sure the graphics are amazing, and the online is cool...but without games graphics do not mean **** and if you really dont play online it really doesnt matter.

But it gets a lot of use as a bluray player :D

Nope, not even close.

Not a chance. To this point, PS2 blows the PS3 completely out of the water for me. But I'm still waiting on a big RPG to drop (besides VC, which I have), so hopefully Demon's Souls or WKC will be superb and can convince me to turn my PS3 back on instead of the PS2 :P

Honestly the next gen of gaming has not really impressed me yet. And PS2 had at least a great game to play every couple months.

no way. PS2 beats out PS3 any day. Even in the PS2's first 3 years. You had games like Timesplitters 1 and 2. Dynasty Warriors was cool back then. Armored core still rocked. FF 10 and the MGS 2 were out. GTA 3 was awsome. Kingdom Hearts and DBZ budokai were a blast. The Tony Hawk games were still top notch back then as well. Soul Reaver 2 was cool. Prince of Persia rocked. Tekken Tag and Tekken 4 were top notch and the Onimusha series was good. Devil May Cry was still good back then too. Shinobi as well. Ratchet and Clank came into existence.

Dont get me wrong we have a lot of those franchises on next gen consoles as well, but some just are plain outdated now and the others just didn't have the same feeling as with their older versions like Devil May Cry 4 or Armored Core 4. This generation has less games and the epicness of some of them isn't as great. What's the big difference between resident evil 5 and 4? What is the big difference between Soul Calibur 3 and 4? I mean SC 4 was just SC 3 only with online, It didn't have hardly any new characters besides the guest star wars people and the shop for buying weapons and everything else was very inaccessible. The fighting was the same thing with almost no new additions. Yeah they added the armor break and the finishing move type thing but that was it. I would have rather had Soul Calibur 3 with online as a downloadable game like Tekken 5 for half the price then what SC4 was. 3rd parties don't try hard enough.

When I look at games like Uncharted, Resistance 2, Gears of War, Little Big Planet, and then I look at a lot of other games, they just don't stack up.

With PS2, Dynasty Warriors was fresh at the time and no one saw more characters on screen to beat around when it was new. Final Fantasy X brought the dialogue of the games to life with actors. GTA finally went 3d and became like real life. There is not as big of leap between PS2/xbox to PS3/360. A lot og games still retain gameplay like PS2 with barely any expansion or none at all but with better graphics.

I will say that PS3 is king with new IP's though. Folklore, Uncharted, Resistance, Motorstorm, Infamous, Echochrome, Heavy Rain Mod Nation Racers The Last Guardian, Little Big Planet Valkyria Chronicles, Warhawk ( yes they made the PS1 game but the PS3 one doesn't resemble that game at all.) These are all great games. We might not be playing what wethought when we bought a PS3 but hey I am not complaining.

I am, though I think that's mainly due to my differing situation. Back in the PS2 era I had to make do with getting games as presents and pocket money. Now, I can pay for all the games I want myself, so if I see a game I want, I can get it there and then.

I'm not impressed thusfar. There's some solid titles out, but I get far more enjoyment from my PS2. In time I'm sure I'll come to enjoy my PS3 more, but until there's more in terms of games I'm sticking to the PS2.

i dunno...PS2 was just so epic. maybe by the end of the PS3's lifespan i will give the PS3 the upperhand between the two systems, but right now i'd say the PS2 was my fav.

Yes alot more, ah man I remember first getting a PS2 for christmas many years ago, Pro Evo (the first one) Resident Evil - cannot remember which 1 !

And I also remember getting the Playstation at christmas - I had FIFA 96, Croc, Wipeout........just so many
