Some very typical rants and raves in this thread :P Yet I was glad to see none/minimal brunts on the other next-gen systems, Good job keeping on track of the thread. one other minor thing though, if you want to make a serious point, check your spelling after you're done super fast rant typing. :D
Only thing I see Sony did/is doing is trying to make up for a marketing mistake of putting out a pretty useless 20GB system with the 60GB system. Now with 20GB done and gone and never to see the light of day again, the company is trying to make up some losses by dropped 60GB price. I was stoked to have checked the stores one week earlier still at $600, then last week saw $500 and was AWWWWWW (the sound of empherial light shining upon me lol) and instantly popped into my local game store and picked one up. Yes there are not alot of games YET for the PS3, but look to the future. The PS2 didn't have crap for games when it came out and look at all the fun stuff that's been pumped out for it since release. Same will happen for PS3.
Anyhoo, picked up a used copy of Resistance, me not being a 1st person shooter fan, I've found it quite entertaining and some really good jump me out of my seat moments. Oblivion is THE BOMB for a simulated MMRPG, though sooooo damn much time roaming aimlessly I forget what I'm supposed to be doing alot in game. But seriously, 80GB - 60GB, $100 difference? Do these things truly matter if you want a PS3? I will agree with all that have said "Go buy the 60GB system" if you really want one now. Trade it in for the 80GB when it comes out or do as some have mentioned just upgrade your HD to more than 80GB later and you've still saved the $100 now.
So SO SOOOO many kick ass titles comming this fall and early next year for the PS3, buy one now and play the hell out of the few Great games out now and be stoked for the titles to come. That's all...Keep gaming.
