Assassins Creed, is it worth buying?

Its love or hate (most love though). Some people tell me its way overrated, others says its gold.

It depends on what kinda games you like... did you like Hitman? If so, you may like this one.

hitman? how is that game related to Assassins creed. I play Hitman, and saw the videos for Creed. Creed looks more fun, i hated Hitman games thoughSiKh22

You have to explore levels, and search for clues to find your target. Its pretty repetitive (like hitman). Find target, kill him. Only thing is, you use a knife instead of guns.

excellent game, sure it has its flaws not amazing i give it 9.25, sure its repetitive but its like the usual repeat like any other game.

worth the buy and the franchise has a bright future story is really really good, and the ending and possibly thoughts/predictions/implifications for sequels is AMAZING!!

or u can wait about 3 weeks for Devil May Cry 4....and the only person who can beat dante is cloud...and thankfully the FFXIII's arent coming out soon soi can have a clear conscience when i drool only over DMC4 atm

I cant believe they have a message to hit X when you see a glitch,,thats pretty bad!!!!

Loading times are bad and some are even disguised,,,the hd light runs not stop. First time playing, loading took up to 10 min!!

And just a ton of other problems, sometimes I cant get into a cut scene I have to work my way into it!!!

The whole sci-fi thing is ok, but it threw off the game and is basically a waste of time cut scenes and time,,,,,,One time I had to go in my room to sleep, but I had to go in the room then back out, just to be told to go to bed again so the X action button would come up!!.

I still feel the game is great and Im sure 2 will be solid,, but this has to be the first ps3 game I played that I have ever seen that runs poorly,,,,I wonder why this game was so rushed?????

I kinda never recommends this (i'm against renting), but this game was a total disappointment for me and i had such hype for it.

I recommend you rent it.

this game is almost everything but stealth.

It has a few minor "stealth" quirks, but surely you wouldn't compare this to MGS, Splinter cell, tenchu or thief.

Aside from some small bugs in the PS3 version of this game, it is fantastic offline.

If you are someone who needs an online experience, than this game is definately not for you.

My birthday is coming this tuesday :) and my parents asked me what game i wanted. I'm thinking about getting assassins creed? Plus i'll give them that Bestbuy $10off coupon i saved in my computer. the game fun? or a rental? SiKh22

Considering its your birthday and AC is $60 i say rent. You may like it, you may not. I hated the damn thing after 3 hours of playing it. I have gotten bad games on my birthday many times, believe me its not fun to get a crappy game on your birthday (40 Winks anyone?). But i will say it again, since AC isnt that long, rent it. Have your mom get you another game.

You dont need any stealth for AC, i almost beat it easily just fighting everyone in the open. Then i sold it for Ratchet and Clank. The idiots at Gamestop charged me a refurbish fee because of the fixed freezing problems it has. If you have AC and plan on selling it, make sure you LET THEM KNOW its fixed. Some people are just so stupid (refering to GS)!

I would prefer Devil May Cry 4, its going to be so jaw dropping awesome. It comes out Feb 6th. Definitely get it! It would also help if you told us what kind of genres your into.

Seriously, using stealth is your entire advantage in the game, I mean, sneak up, assassinate, take off...

it's just not an action game for people who need constant action...takes some thought and some planning.

If you dont belive me rent it first and you will see that i am telling the truth...

And this game is shat compared to hitman.... there is only one way to kill the target in assassins creed whilst in hitman there are numerous ways eg drug, sniper, shoot, knife, poison, stranglel, bomb, ect and numerous opportunities and circimstances to do so...

ugh... Repetitive!

Its a rent.

Well....I liked AC but the damn game is REPETITIVE! It goes like this :

Get to city -> Bureu(SP?) -> interrogate ->evesdroping -> informer -> pickpocket -> burue -> Kill target ->run-> masyaf -> repeat

It's a good game. You might like it or not. I say go for it.

this may sound weird but no the AI is actually very smart see back then to fight one on one was the way to do it.. it was like an honarable thing to do... its the whole pride thing... which i still believe in. it wont stop them from teaming up on u but they take shots at u one person at a time... but the cool part is when aometimes when u kill most of their freinds or "team mates" the last one or two guards left will just run away depending on how good ur countering skills are :P "mercy please mercy!" and then they run away :lol:

Well dispite all the negative feedback, I would say 100% YES..

I love it, I think it is a BRILLIANT game, so much fun..

well actually gamestop policy is if u buy a USED game u have a week to return it no questions asked... i play em and if i dont like it i usually return it the next day or a day later where do u live if u dont mind me asking cuz that seems kinda weird if they dont take it back :|

This guy's got it right. There are so many forums asking the exact same question. I felt the same way about this game. It's terribly repetitive, the AI is braindead, and personally I didn't like the sci-fi element of the story. I'd say rent it before you decide. You can read my review of the game in my profile if you'd like.

It was fun it was just very repetitive, repetitive, repetitive, did I mention it was repetitive? What I mean is you do the same thing again and again and again and again then after that you do the same thing again. I wish I would have just rented it, but that said I did have some fun playing it, just not as much as uncharted or COD4.
