[QUOTE="OrwellJames"]Games should never provide intriguing insights into human nature and society, nor should they be a source of social criticism or catharsis. They should be an grueling test of one's ability to maneuver plastic sticks and press trigger-like buttons in a controlled and precise manner in order to shoot, stab, or stomp on large patterns of light that are displayed moving across a two-dimensional screen, whatever those light patterns may be, including but not limited to zombies, aliens, soldiers, pedestrians, and little mushroom-shaped men that walk on two feet with no legs. Never again will we be able to reach the deific level of mind-numbing repetition and thematic futility that was the Atari generation. Narrative is ruining gaming forever. God help us all.Denji

what?

Is that guy making a serious statement?

don't know man.

Are you two serious? He is obviously joking.

Yeah really. That whole post screams sarcasm. It's obvious.

It's hard to get sarcastic tones across through typed words. Plus, I've seen people make serious posts like that before.

Kinda seemed like a dead give away to me.

Its professional criticism, nothing wrong in that. On the other hand, I enjoy Kojima's styIe of storytelling as much as I do any other game director.

What is sounds like to me:

Small simple mind with a short attention span, tossed in with a little jealousy

Honestly, where did this guy come from anyways? Who is he? He just wants attention. Why isn't he whining about Final Fantasy? Or Oblivion? Oblivion's play time is in the months, forget hours. Final Fantasy game hours keep going up with each release. I think this nobody needs to shut up and stop thinking he can play with the big boys. He should just go back to his little "Bionic Commando".

One thing about Metal Gear people don't seem to understand is that it's an interactive story, an experience. Not just a game. I can see if the cutscense are long with NO story at all. But there is, and a huge one at that with years of character growth.

Denji

you're the MAN Denji. And for those who said they wanted more gameplay then cutscenes I suggest them to replay the game, use stealth and everything this game has to offer because there are ALOT of stealth elements in this game and you just have to use your imaginatinon to decide how you'd like to use Stealth in this game. Trust me, you will be spending hours having fun with the PMCs and militia using "stealth". Try to unlock most of the weapons, camouflage and facecamos to take more advantage of it.
