I was thinking about buying either a rapid fire controller or buying a DS3 rapid fire mod kit, and maybe using it online once in a while (not extensively)... Could I get banned from the Playstation Network from using it online (for example, MW2)? Keep in mind, you can not change my mind from getting the controller/mod. Please don't try to criticize me for using one.

I remember some people would use turbo controllers on the ps2 Socoms. They would pick the m16(a semi auto), put it on single shot, and with turbo it would fire almost as fast as F90/P90. This gave the m16 a HUGE advantage. Which is why they would get IMMEDIATLY voted out.
@TC- If you're using it in private matches with friends, I don't see a problem with it. But if you're gonna use it in online matches because your team is losing, then thats cheating and I would hope you do get banned:|

Well, if I were to use it for close range weapons (i.e. pistols) there would be a good advantage. Close range weapons don't need to be too accurate.

Well, it it's a low chance, then, I could take the risk. I'll probably get bored of it after a while anyway. The actual mod for the DS3 (listed above in one of my posts) has you add in a button on the grip, so you can still use R1 for regular fire.

" For the DS3 mod that I will most likely get (if any) of the turbo controllers (the mod kit is only $20), there still is recoil. Watch the video.

That's cheating, whether you'd be banned or not for it. If anything, people would file complaints against you when you use it online. Do it all you want for single player or coop but leave the games online to be played as they were meant to be.
Just keep in mind that when you use something like this you are deciding your enjoyment is more important than anyone else's who happens to be in the game with you. Why not just play and keep it fun - if you lose there's a reason and you should lose, not press a magic button. Cheating is a lousy way to deal with that.

The gun fires all bullets in the clip so fast that the game for the most part doesn't calculate the recoil needed. Also, M16 which is semi-auto basically has no recoil.

Making modded controllers is not illegal, but using them online most certainly is. Steroids aren't illegal but using them is. That's why SONY allow the controllers to be made. Although, trophys is an online part of the game and if you cheat in SP, gaining trophys, then it's also not allowed.
I know 100% that if in MW1 your guns fire abve a certain fire rate which is not humanly possible, MW1 detects this and kicks you from the game. Im not sure why they would remove it from MW2.
