Daddy won't let me buy a ps3 :( (kinda long read)

Ok so last week I asked my dad if he could bring me to Best Buy to get a ps3. He said "Okay". He drove me to Best Buy, and I picked up a ps3 from the shelf and brought it over to the counter to purchase it with my hard earned money i saved up from the past year. Right when I'm about to load it on the counter my dad says "No, I think you should wait." Then he picked up the ps3 and placed it back on the shelf and we went home. I'm thinking wtf is going on.

In the car, I asked him why he did that. He didn't respond. So i waited 5 minutes and asked again. Then he said "Your grades are very important now". At the time I had a C in one of my classes. So I asked "If i get rid of that C by next week can I buy a ps3?" He said "Ok"

It's next week now and i removed the C just like I said I would. Today I told him "I got rid of the C, can I buy a ps3 now?" Then he said "No". WTF!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? 10 minutes later I asked him why not, and he said "Because it's too expensive."

Now, if he was buying it for me, I would completely understand why he doesn't want me to have one. But I'M THE ONE WHO'S PAYING FOR IT... And if it's grades that are a problem, I told him that if i got a C again he could take the ps3 away. He still said "No."

How am i supposed to convince him to let me buy one? I know I sound like a whinney brat, but seriously..I'm paying for it..come on now...grrr....

Like a poster hinted at before, your dad might be buying one for you for Christmas or your birthday. Either that or he is just reneging on his word...Which would certainly be unfortunate. Keep up the good grades though, they're whats truly imortant.

I smell a Christmas present coming up. Your "daddy" probably had a talk with the cashier about any special Christmas deals or something while you were away getting your PS3.

u sound like whiney 5 year old. if you are old enough to get a job, then get one and buy a ps3 ur self. if you not, dont whine because ur grades are bad and u daddy thinks u dont need a ps3. my parents never bought me video games, i bought my own SNES, N64 when i was in jr and high school and my parents had nothing to say. i also had a car/job at 16 and realized early that if you want something, then u cant rely on someone else to get/do it for you. da_chub

If anything, you raised your grades so it shouldn't even be a problem to have a ps3.

Why do you accept to be treated like a child if you get your money by yourself? You father is obviously a very smart person. It is obvious that he has done his research about the PS3 and knows why you shouldn't be buying an inferior product. I wish that somebody had stopped me before I spent $600 at launch on a system that I haven't even hooked up after I moved a month ago. Save your money for somthing that is actually worth it.

When I first wanted a PS3 in 2006, I got a new laptop.

Then in 2008, when i got bored of my lap, I asked for a new one, my dad bought me a PSP.

Just in 2009, I just bought 2 Mobiles due to the fact that it had a not so cool cam.

Then in 2010, I got my PS3 and just a few weeks ago I got a Gaming lap.

SO, the only thing I'll say is don't be persisting but just calmly or jokingly and slowly, you'll find it in your hands.

If you earned the money to buy a PS3 then you should be able to buy it by yourself. In life some have to work hard to get what they want while some don't, I'm just glad that I'm among the latter. 8)

My nephew Sam has been bothering his parents for a PS3 since it came out and now I'm selling one to his mom for him for X-mas. I put awesome and I mean awesome Starwars skins on 4 controllers and the syatem and custom made him a XMB theme of Starwars. And photo shopped his head into a Darth Maul pic and set it for his ID pic. And he has no idea his mom is getting it for him for X-mas. He believes his parents just hate him. LOL
