ultimeatly it doesn't matter what we think of it, the muslim world would have been up in arms about it, and sony is business first and a first amendment rights activist second.
as an athiest, I'm offended by religion in general.
stupidest delay ive ever scene...not like that many Muslims can play games there to busy bombing peopleUnknown_Hero3That hurts
Muslim here and no I am not. I am offended by this moron though:

Without idiots like this though, comedy would be dull since we wouldnt have people like him to make fun of.

I know arguing semantics on the internet is like arguing about theoretical physics at a child's birthday party but really it's not racist to be a bigot towards Muslims, they are not a race or an ethnicity, it is a religion. It's still wrong to insinuate that Muslims are terrorists.
To me, the delay is unwarranted, I'm unfazed in the sense of having to wait, but disheartened at another small loss for free expression. I respect Muslims right to their religion, part of which of course would involve electively not purchasing the game or playing it. Since Sony as a corporation is concerned with sales, its really no surprise to see them accede to this. It's not really so bad, it just kind of rubs me the wrong way as an agnostic who has their values not respected by many religious people they've encountered. Even though I fully support people's right to their own.Phearz
THANK YOU

How are we being sensitive, we are just telling you that you made a racist comment that was unnecessary and we could all report you for it. I take racism really serious.

What do you mean he got it? Was what you said meant as a joke? If it was, please refrain from telling jokes because you are bad at them...
wow you are annoying...give it up alreadyUnknown_Hero3
Im annoying? Please, you know I am right. You are lame and so are your terrible jokes.
heres how i feel about this whole thing, and i haven't really heard anyone mention it. it would seem that moderate muslims are not offended by the song being in the game. the offensive aspect of the song is that it puts the The Qur'an with music, which apparently is a distraction from God (im not terribly sure but this is my understanding of the topic). so if music is bad and extremist muslims do not listen to music, then, by extension, wouldn't they also avoid video games? this would mean that the issue would never actually affect them in anyway, because anyone who interprets the Qur'an as strictly as this would not be playing video games in the first place. if for some reason video games are exempt from this rule (they came into existence after the Qur'an was written? idk), nobody is forcing muslims to play the game. The Exorcist might be offensive to a christian, but nobody held a gun to their head and forced them to watch it. just a thought...
also, this guy is a complete idiot and it embarases me that someone would say something like this. i personally am athiest, so i cannot really understand the concept of being offended by something for religious reasons, but thats just me :)
Annoyed that it's delayed among other things. Especially since the nature of the delay would have been overlooked or not understood by the vast majority of those who played the game.
Only the religious will recognize the lyrics and only a few of them will probably play the game.
yet everyday on T.V. I watch Pat Robertson, Kenneth Copeland or Benny Hinn preach about death, and the end of our world. I fail to see how this is particularly different than that as far as the message itself goes.
But in another more relevant example, the lack of reaction from Muslims against the addition of false yet inflammatory drawings of Muhammad in the scandal involving Denmark. Especially since the false drawings were made by radical Muslim imams themselves, and the authentic drawings of Muhammad were tame and never intended to offend anyone.
There needs to be a serious reevaluation of where Islam is going or how it's role on the international stage plays out by Muslims themselves.
But for now, hypocrisy rules the day.

Yes but everybody should know what they are getting into when they watch Pat Robertson. To be honest, if I were Muslim, I might very well be offended by the song. I just don't know. It's better to be safe than sorry. Plus I would be careful about laying hypocrisy at the feet of the religiously inclined and Muslims alone. It's all over the place...

Please tell me you didn't just support living in a security state devoid of freedom. Because that's where "better safe than sorry" tends to lead you.
I feel you're wrong about Pat and others, common sense tells us the world is flat. Therefore a good many people don't realise Pat or other radicals are in-fact radical in comparison to other standards.
I had a extended family member myself that wrote entire paychecks off to the 700 club.
I do agree with you about hypocrisy being everywhere we look. I laid it at religions feet this time because that's what this involves.
This kind of thing is why introspection is needed on an individual level as well as a group level. If you were Muslim and offended I would hope you would stop, take a moment and analyze what exactly are you offended by? what exactly are you offended for? should you be offended at all? Instead of being completely reactionary and gagging any voice of opposition because it makes you or others uncomfortable, whether being offended is the correct reaction or not.
After taking a clearer less emotional look, choose a course of action that is equal in some way to the grievance. Like Denmark apologizing to the Islamic world yet still being boycotted and receiving death threats. That doesn't seem to be balanced at all.
Why should Sony censor something that isn't specifically targeting anyone or anything other than "souls" and the "end" of the world?
Should a passage from another holy text like, Love thy father, and thy mother. Receive the same censorship?

Don't you just love how one person can't make a simple joke without getting attacked by people that have absolutely no affiliation with Muslims? I hate people who are politically correct and I wish this game was out already so I could be making some levels for it instead of laughing at angry people who are just looking for something to get offended about.me89me89
