Future Ingame XMB Wishes...

What didnt make it into the 2.40 update, that you hope will make it into another update.

Personally i would like the ability to switch users in game. I have two brothers i have to share the PS3 with, and its a hassle to have to exit the game, switch users, just to get back to the game my brother was playing. I was kind of let down with the 2.40 update, because i surely thought this feature would make it. Is anyone else letdown by something you thought sony should have implemented???

what someone above said, in game chat.

they advertised that with home but they did it while some1 was playing motorstorm in the ad. went to in game xmb, chat, video chatted while game was paused, talked about motorstorm, then they got matched and played together online.

only reason is cuz i saw the ad and it looked cool, but i dont expect that till home comes out (NEVER!!!)

Ability to stream music from a PC (or at least play off of a USB device) in-game. Also, it should just play over the game sound if they don't patch it. Most games let you turn the music all the way down, so why not just play the music over the game instead? Like play them simultaneously or whatever?

All around, I'd like to see the XMB organized better... made more aesthetically pleasing, but I really doubt they'll change it significantly.

Oh, and you should be able to view the clock when you press the PS button no matter WHAT you're doing. If I'm watching a DVD or BD-ROM, I should be able to hit it and see the clock. Not the end of the world, but it would still be a nice touch.

All I really care about is cross-game private chat.

any chance they will ever make it so you can play with a guest on your console as well. similar to what xbox does? i would love to play cod4 with my brother online onthe same ps3. jus tmy thoughts

YES i am so pissed that i cant have my music playing in game... some of the games i own the soundtrack just sucks. i.e. motorstorm, grand theft auto 4...

If we were perfectly content then Sony would think they were perfect.

In-game music for every game, come on Sony it can't be that difficult.

I just don't see why we can't play music over our games, it makes my head hurt to think that EVERY single game MUST be patched in order to play music in game, it's ridiculous.

Also, More games to support trophies, The Orange Box, CoD4, Pain, Pixeljunk Monsters and Flow to name a few.

you have to be joking.... switch users??? when have you ever heard of that??? not even xbox has that..... lets say you are playing GTA4, how will your brother play his saved game on the ps3 if you have to re-start the game to reload a buch of different saved files...or online yea lets switch in the middle of a WARHAWK battle, you will have to exit the game a log in to the servers again, this feature sounds lame not possible.....sorry

but they really didn't get anything they were asking for 2.41 which isn't really anything special and wasn't advertised to be doesn't really offer much all the important stuff that people have been asking for are missing trophies exist in theory at this point as does in game music.

that doesn't bother me as much as not being able to change display settings inability to changer users in game. resetting the game to the load screens fine but quiting logging into another user then restarting the game is defiantly more of a hassle.

im not bagging on 2.4 i never expected much and i think the title of the update tells you just as much but so many people blew it way out of proportion of course it would disappoint there was nothing much there to begin with.

1. Internet browser, that would be a function that would seperate the PS3's in-game XMB from the 360s and would help with Walthroughs and such.

2. Chat (not really needed, but it would be nice) The chat would be nice, but it's not the most needed thing.

3. Switch users would also be cool (if possible)

A very minor problem but if they could move the clock so the charge status of the controller doesnt cover it up when you press the ps button would be nice.mattzz10

Wow where have you guys been. Sony can't do it like that because M$ has the patent for in-game music. which means any application for playing a users soundtrack over a game cannot be used. So the only way to get in-game music is for you to tell Developpers to do it. Only they can impliment it. Sony gave them the tools with 2.4 and its up to them to add it in.
