Be happy you got a demo at all, some people will complain about anything, if they had made the full game available for free on the PSN, you probably would have still found something to whine about
I think the graphics are amazing! It takes a few goes to get used to but its defo a game that i consider buying
The Ai are preety average, the sound is spot on
best bit: Pressing x to pick up fallen swords or corpses and throwing them at people :-)
how does the game differentiate itself from GoW? i heard that the game has a slower, more cinematic feel to it. but besides that... are there any other big differences?c0mplex
I would agree with your first statement. I've played GoW a lot and the first thing I noticed when playing the HS demo was that it's a lot slower paced. I would also like to say that I had a hard time defending off attacks when the enemies charged up. I do like the grabs, they have a GoW feel but are more personal and less bloodthirsty. You'll really like all the neck snapping action. Also, the contextual button sequences are very easy. I'm hoping we get to see more as time goes on. Overall I'd give this demo a 6/10
[QUOTE="helocabalus"]has anyone noticed the v-synch problems??Radiozo
Yeah. But its probably an old build. Its not even the E3 demo so its probably 6 months old or so.
Mind explaing what "v-synch" means to the rest of us? I did a wiki search and nothing came up.
Is there some sort of demo length standard that everyone is complaining? It's a demo. DEMO.emitsu97
yes, of course there is. The demo should take around 5 to 10 min to play not 2 or 3 min. Also, the demo should take you through the whole first level or atleast half of one level of the game. I was much more impressed with the ninja gaiden sigma demo compared to this but then again maybe thats just me. Also, I was disappointed to find out there is no jump button in the game.
All in all I was just unimpressed and the game seems way over hyped. Oh well there is still plenty of other good games on the way but based on playing this demo I would say at best this game will get a 8.5 or 8.6. I just didn't come away with that wow impression that I was so hoping for but I know some other games coming out this fall will definitely give me that impression.
I will say this game looked very impressive watching it on tv during E3 and watching trailers of the game but after playing the game it fell short based off of what I played of it. I'm hoping that Uncharted Drakes Fortune will turn out much better than this and I think it will. Also keep in mind Heavely Sword should only take you about 12-15 hours to beat it. At least thats what I've heard.

That was honestly the only thing that disappointed me at all. I was like.... "if only I could jump over this bastard right now and slice him from behind..."
its a demo, its supposed to be short! Wait a few weeks and get the actual game. Now if that's short, then you have a good reason to be let down.needlesmcgirk
The game is short as well. At least thats what I've heard it should only take you about 12-15 hours to beat.

I think the devs are going to realize that they made a mistake by not putting in a jump button. Its almost a must in most action/adventure games.

From?
From ps3 today. Its been awhile since I read about that news to but it was asked by some gaming mag to one of the devs of the game and thats exactly what they said. If your playing the game the first time through it should take you about 12-15 hours to beat.
Short, uber short. already pulled off every combo available. But man thats some sweet action. nothing at all like GoW like everyone thinks.Houseofcary
nothing at all like GoW?.... yes it is.... but that's not a bad thing.

The game is short? I heard in an IGN podcast that one of the guys played a 1/3 of the game which he said was 20 levels. 20 levels is only a 1/3 of the game? Granted each level could be really short but you gotta think the game will have a good amount of content in it.

Exactly. People act like you absolutely can't be like a franchise and you have to be completely new. GOW is a great game. WHy not copy some elements? Ninga Gaiden is a great game. Copy that too. Personally, I love the whole copying things while still adding something new.
How long was Resistance? I'm guessing about 12-15 hours and I thoroughly enjoyed that game. I'll take an enjoyable experience in a time manageable size any day.emitsu97
but R:FoM had online play to in place of a really long game.
for me personally though... i find myself playing action/adventure games over and over, so i can still justify the $60 for HS.
