I rent Blu-Ray movies. I haven't bought any yet because they're still ridiculously overpriced.

I have now more than 150 Blu-ray movies, I think I bought more Blu-rays than I bought DVD in the same time period.

Ones i find amazing :

Hellboy and Hellboy 2, Planet terror, In the name of the king, The reaping, GI Joe, The Mummy and returns and Scorpion King 1, Starship troppers, The Condemned, Star Wars : clone wars series, Watchmen, Die another day, Pirates of the Carribean, Curse of the golden flower, The Promise, Die Hard 1, 2, 3, 4, Fabtastic four 1 and 2, Surrogates, Serenity

Im not sure where you live and if you are in another country then i really have no idea, but for me BD's are actually now at a very good price. Typically for new releases they are just 19.99 (sometimes cheaper) while the DVD is 15-17 on release. Usually the 2 DVD special editions are like 23 and they have the same thing that the BD has on just one disc.

No I don't watch movies on my PS3 I really only ever use it for games. I don't really care about buying Blu Ray movies I still buy DVD because it's cheaper. I care about my game collection more then my movies.

I do. My most recent purchases were Toy Story and Toy Story 2, which both look absolutely stunning. It's hard to believe that it's been 15 years since the first one.

This Personally i never seen a blu ray movie yet but $29.99 for movies is dumb. Some movies do offer the digital copy so u can transfer it to ur PSP. alot of retail stores do have sales of $10 blu rays but thier mostly old movies.even though thier better than today's movies, they werent shot in HD but i wonder just how they improved it.

Film has a much higher potential resolution than 1080p, so they don't have to improve it because it's already there.

The dark knight is the best movie. Buy Lord Of The Rings. X-men, and some Pixar films. Or Dreamworks.

That is quite high. Surely no-one pays that much though? In the UK, new BR's have an RRP similar to Australia's; around £30. You can get them online for much cheaper though. http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/11089484/James-Cameron-Avatar-Combi-Pack/Product.html There's an example.

PS3 is/has been about the arguably best player on the market, given it's the only player that's been able to go from profile 1.0 to 2.0 with no problem (whereas most anyone else that bought a stand-alone player basically had to throw it away to get a compliant model), is the only known player to support 3.0 (even if it is an audio-only spec), and is confirmed to be getting updated for 3d movie playback.
Sure do. Just wish more video stores would carry Blu-ray. But it hasn't become the standard yet. Waiting for that day when it does.. so the high price point will drop. :)Elian2530
Considering Sony owns the standard, and won the format wars, don't expect them to drop anytime soon. Not with the ridiculous amount of cash they're making on royalties for the patents on lasers, drives, and media are concerned.

Because they cost more on eBay, and because Australia is region B. Other B regions are Europe and Africa only. Shipping is so pricey from there.

Id love to get that when it comes out but from what has been released, the BD and DVD will not have a single special feature or even commentary on it. They say so it is to give the best possible movie which is fine but then why not include a second disc? Im going to wait till like November when they double dip and release the special edition with deleted scenes and everything else.

Yep. However, a note to all audio and video geeks, if you have yet yo invest in a BR player, don't use the PS3 as one. It's the worst one you can get on the market. Especially to those who have home cinema systems, get a dedicated BR player instead, they read faster, clearer and wont YLOD on you.

Projector? Bleurgh! However, HD projectors are a good alternative to HDTV, but don't even come close to plasma quality.

Try WATCHMEN... There's also a cheap version of THE MIST (10 dollars I think)! I'm waiting for the extended version of THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy to be released!!!! it's gonna be cool in BLU RAY!
