[QUOTE="sonydbz"]I bought mine to play PS3 games. Perhaps the only time it is used to play last gen games is when my brother's ex comes to play Prince of Persia. I'll probably start using it to play some MGS before the 4th comes out. Alot of these people who are complaining about no BC are probably late adopters of the PS2 (not late late but late) while most of us have played the PS2 till its death (a good 6 years for me). But I can't blame them for not wanting to use a little bit of energy to get a PS2 out of its resting spot to play some of the last gen games.. deadkingdg
I bought the PS2 and the PS3 on launch day and I am a defender of BC. I still have the very same PS2 that I bought at launch, and it still works, but I had to open it to clean the lense 4 times to solve disc read errors. It works now, but the load times are very slow now because it doesn't read discs as fast as it did. I replayed most of my PS1 games on my PS2 and will probably replay most of my PS2 games on my PS3 eventually.
Playing with a wireless controller and having virtually infinite memory cards beats having to replug the console and endure the long load times.
I bought it to play PS3 games, but a good game is a good game, even if it is 10 years old, so I know I will replay PS2 games, if not PS1 games eventually.
Everything he said. Also, it is nice having 1 system hooked up through simple and tidy HDMI cable to a surround sound system (or not) and not having to screw around with connecting/reconnecting anything else. It is a pretty setup to only have 1 do it all system (ps1, ps2, ps3, blu ray, dvd), a surround sound receiver, and minimal cords sitting under your HDTV.
