How many ps3 owners actually play ps2 games on their ps3?

Actually, I never owned a PS2 (gasp!) but liked the fact that I could play PS2 games when I purchased my PS3. I think that it just makes sense, the PS2 was (sort of) backward compatible, why not the PS3!?!? I did end up purchasing a few PS2 games that I always wanted to have in my collection. So quick answer - Yes.

i havent touched a ps2 game since i got my ps3. besides, i still have my ps2

now all i do is watch movies, play ps2 games and go online

I got rid of my PS2 shortly after getting my PS3, so BC is a big deal for me. However, if I had a 40GB, I'd be sure to hang onto my PS2 because I love playing through my old games. I'm planning on playing through MGS2 and 3 before MGS4 comes out, and every once in a while I like to play some ZoE2, Ratchet & Clank, and I still have to finish Okami.

Backwards Compatibility is the #1 reason I bought the PS3, after I gave the old PS2 to my brother. IfSony can cut the cost and introduce a model at a lower price but without BC, good for them.

I already got the 60GB with 98% BC, so I don't really care what Sony does to the new models.

This is a possibility, what happensif your 60gb stops working? You will not be able to replace it.
