I thought the video and screens made it look pretty boring 7.0 at best, but somehow it got a 9.0... how is it? I'm not really into the whole magical / superhuman / monsters stuff

The game is very fun and worth the money but if you could also wait for Prototype which also offers a sandbox gameplay enviorment to play around with. You could wait for the reviews on that and do a close comparison.
what other game(s) is it like? if you had to make a comparison - i hate downloading demos on ps3

People say its similar to Crackdown. I never played that game so if you ask me I would say its like a third person Jak II game...with somewhat worse graphics for its time. So I'm saying its a really great game because Jak II is my favorite game of all time!
The powers are disappointingly unimaginative and it's pretty short, unless you feel like playing through the game again to see slightly different cutscenes...karristonIt's long if you do the side quests and I love the large array of powers.
Oh hells yes it is.
Especially fighting the Dust Men. You'd think fighting hobos with garbage armor would be easy.:P You will be proven wrong.:|
inFamous is TOTALLY worth it - I'd say it's like a mix of GTA4, Uncharted and Spiderman 2. IMO, it's one of the best games on the PS3 right now, and probably one of the best titles of the year. It's well worth it to at least download the demo - it's a great demo, and surprisingly long.
[QUOTE="Vyse_Legends"]They're hobos in garbage armour yet they have rocket launchers! ROCKET LAUNCHERS!!!!Yup they got RPGs.Oh hells yes it is.

Not really, they add like 2 hours maximum. Also, there aren't that many differences between the good and bad story. Sure, your powers change ever so slightly and the cutscenes are different, but apart from that... Still, it's a good game, worth at least a rent. It may be short lived, but it's fun while it lasts.

Erm - its a bit different - more variety in movement, more vareity in missions, much better storyline, better interaction with supporting characters, less limits on where you can travel...and more - its worth a 9.0
Haven't played the demo, but got the game anyway (kinda jumped into the hype wagon), and I gotta say it's amazing. It's super fun, and the story got me completely hooked up. I think you should at least rent it.I thought the video and screens made it look pretty boring 7.0 at best, but somehow it got a 9.0... how is it? Infamous gets better every moment. Graphics are great and the action is way cool and fast paced. Most fun I've had in a long time playing a game. This is a no brainer. There is just way too much to do not to like this game. The side missions are a very strong keypoint to this game. If you own a PS3 and you don't buy this game you are totally missing out on some great great fun. If you don't own a PS3 and don't go get one to play this game you are missing out and crazy. Fun is priceless and is well worth $60. Who gives a crap about who rates this. Take it from another customer it's just short of perfect to me. I could give a darn about a rating when that controller is in my hand anyhow. Some people wann rate this lower than a 9.0 you are either all nuts or secret Xbox fanboys. This game is freakin awesome. Get this game!!!!!!!!!!
I havn't even completely played the entire demo, but it seemed okay. I meen a little button mashing and it seems like the kind of game that is going to get repetitive fast but idk I can't say that for sure yet. I might eventually get it. I'm in no rush, it doesn't have online does it? Cause I can wait a while for any game that has no online. But really the game looks good and it was fun messing around in the demo destorying stuff lol. Oh and 1000th post. Woo!?!SoNin360
You COULD wait, sure... but why? If you buy it now (and if you manage to find one of the stickered inFamous copies) you can get that free Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta at the same time! Unless you're waiting a REALLY long time for the price to go down - and I mean like well over a year - then it doesn't make sense to wait now if you're still planning to get it later.
its surprisingly short, but its still fun
i wish it was longer because its so much fun

??? I wouldn't say inFamous is "surpringly short" - to the contrary, really. My first complete game took me almost 20 hours, and I still didn't find all the blast shards or anything. Plus you'll want to play through it at least twice, so you can do both good and evil; together, you're probably looking at 40-50 hours of total playtime. For a modern game, that's a LOT longer than most of 'em - a lot of titles clock in anywhere from 8-15 hours nowadays. Heck, that new Terminator game is being reported at only 5 hours long!
Definitely worth it! Just bought this game today and played it for 3 hours straight. I gotta admit the AI is a little cheap. They have ridiculous aim.
Well I beat the game twice. One good and one evil and I must say this went on my list of one of the best games this gen. I love it.
Watch a few more gameplay videos and see then if you don't like it. If you still have doubts, wait for a while until it goes cheap...
(Warning: It's gonna be a long while)
[QUOTE="jay_rock_"]If you are unsure, then just rent it. Either way, every PS3 owner must play this game.Make sense but the last time I rented a game I was 14 years old,I will be 22 this year so its been awhile...Well I played the demo and it was alright so I still don't know yet if I should get this game...

It's a great game. Good story and fun gameplay in large open world.
I definitely reommend it, if you're however not sure how to proceed - give it a rent.

20 hours? Completed the story and all side quests in about 13, got 58% of the trophies too. Don't know if I could take going through it again just to get the evil trophies. It's an OK game, but I'd need a 5 month break at least to play through it again.[QUOTE="LURCH87"]

I finished Wanted: Weapons of Fate in 3 1/2 hours.
And inFAMOUS is the best game this year.
