Yeah, the melee seems weak or something. I can't tell if I am hitting the guy. Thats why I think rumble would help to some degree - to immerse you more. My subwoofer usually kicks in for that - but not on this game for some reason (maybe just the demo).
Anybody here tried the demo yet? I've played it and it was amazing. What did anyone else think about it?MFKR95
i loved it so much looks like its going to have a good story
It was pretty fun and some good graphics, but like other people said; the melee is weak and slow, I run out of bullets too fast :P, Button Events are hard to react to (harder than Heavenly Sword's), and it was WAY too dark. I mean, even with my flashlight I couldn't see a darn thing unless there was a flame nearby (especially in that cave part).
This game reminds of Bioshock except with zombies/ creatures. Or Oblivion with guns.

There is gonna be an oblivion with guns FALL OUT 3 BABY.
Personally I couldn't get into it. I think the graphics were, hmmmmm nice, but your team looks like the grown up versions of stereotypical high-school students. The combat was also very simplistic to me, and I really didn't feel like I was in some creepy demonic cave, I just was like strolling around killing freaky things. I think what really turned me off to the game was the explanation that they give, the little story summary. It was about the lamest attempt at a story that I have ever heard. The captain dies but he was psychic and he possesses his team and heals them, oh and the priest can heal too, when he's not laying waste to baddies with his dual automatic Desert Eagles. Let's not forget the minorities, because all Asians use swords instead of guns, even when they have both, and big white guys are always behavior cases, so giving them a huge machine gun and making them part of a secret squad is the best thing for them. Also I never understood how the snipers bullets can make like 90 degree turns to kill everything in the room. Personally I felt a little bit like I walked into an Adult rated version of captain planet "Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, Heart!" only we got screwed because there is no monkey, I think Jericho's monkey was cast in MGS4 though, so he's still around. I just really wasn't feeling this game.alt_version
The big guy with the Gatling gun is Delgado, and he isn't white. Billie which is the girl who uses the sword doesn't really like guns, and she is more of the stealthy type, plus she likes swords over guns! She can still use her sub machine gun anyway. About the Sniper bullets? They make 90 degree turns because Black has psychic powers.

Oh right then, it all makes sense, thank you for explaining it like that. Hey most games don't make sense, but they also don't often come off as well silly as this game does.

Those button pressing sequences are lame in my opinion. I'd be able to get into the game better if I could actually watch the dramatic (supposedly) cutscenes instead of staring at the screen on edge waiting for the next button to flash up.
Also, I agree, I felt the melee attacks were too unresponsive and confusing. As others have pointed out, I couldn't tell if I was hitting the other guy or missing or where the enemy even was half of the time.
Yeah the button press thing was very hard... I died the first time - but got it the second. It gave you like .5 seconds lol.LtColJaxsonHaha no **** man, I died at least 9 times at that part.
I thought it was ok...but what's with the no jump button...?? In this day and age of shooters, you have to have a jump button. I would buy it, but it's a 2nd tier tittle to me.MERC_RECONN
I didnt mind not having a jumping button it didnt really seem that it would fit in.
Heres me laughing at you: LOL
Heres Clive Baker: I like to make scary movies and games evidently
Me again: LOL
Me pointing at you: LOL
yea that made me feel better, but in all honesty, like it all you want, I don't care, I just said I don't like it and I don't think the gameplay or story is all that compelling. Go on now, have fun!
This one might be a rental for me... I only had 10 min to play it b/c I had to go to work. Truthfully, I liked it more than I thought I would after seeing gameplay vids. But there was still something 'off' about the combat to me (although the powers for the most part are pretty cool). The telekenitic sniper shot is hard to aime and there are no options to invert the Y axis... which sucks. But maybe after giving it more time I'll like the game???
I'm definitely intrigued by the story and will play through it at least for that.
I was extremely disappointed with demo.
It seemed very generic. Felt like Quake with magic and has a squad.
The element of fear was done poorly. I didn't jump once while playing the demo.
Also the controls felt akward and camera constantly waved all over the place giving me motion sickness especially when I used the girlw ith katana. Difficult to tell if you hit enemies or not and very poor indication how much damage you are taking. Also enemies seems very straightfoward.
Having different characters might seem great, but quickly you realize that instead of carrying multiple weapons you get multiple characters with one weapon set each. Switch through characters mostly felt like just switching through different weapons.
It the end, it is just generic FPS with Clive Barker's name. Very similar to Stranglehold. Generic TPS with John Woo's name.
