Raiden was pretty much the focus of MGS2. And that turned out just fine.

If it is to be a prequel set between the events of MGS2 and MGS4 we could always play a small portion of the game with Snake much like we did in MGS2 on the Tanker. The interesting part would have to be, what would a sequel to MGS4 be like? If that secret ending that everybody was talking about turned out to be true then we might find out more about Snake's fate and if a sequel is a possibility. Seriously, Kojima could surprise us with anything.

No matter what this secret ending is, I think the Solid Snake story is done. A prequel might work, but continuing on from where MGS4 left off would be pushing it a bit.

the average of developing an MGS game in terms of time is about 3 years. MGS4 development nearly reached 4 years. We're talking a 2011 - 2012 release date BROTHER! I know for a fact that it's going to KICK ASS much like every Metal Gear title did.

I'm not sure what direction it will take, but I have no doubts that talented team will make a great game. I'm perfectly fine with MGS4 and how it ended.

Hopefully they do a game on the Boss. That would be awesome to see how it all started. And I wouldnt be opposed to remakes of Metal Gear 1 and 2.

The big news, is when Kojima himself confirms it, then I could rest easy and wait for the release while watching AMAZING trailers of the game!

2012 Sounds about right. Intill then, im sure we see alot of other stuff to. Makes me wanna play MGS4 some more now.

In-between now and then. You would think some developer would just really stick one. Im kinda waiting for some game to pop out of nowhere, that runs perfect and plays great, and is that good. Im almost in wounder of, "Why cant anyone else figure it out, besides a select few this gen."

no one said that Kojima Productions were to release it a year or 2 or even 3 years from now. The idea of MGS5 is just in their head.
