seriously, if sony still doesnt take any action, im thinking of selling my baby on ebay =/
and getting a 360 =/ i dont want to own a console which is weak to me
Hanabie
well said man im going to sell my 360 because it lost good exclusives.
Regardless the game does come to the 360 or not, I don't know why some Sony fans are upset AT MICROSOFT that it is stealing exclusive titles. In fact it is not. Sony made a HUGE mistake with the PS3. It thought that companies will stay true only to the PS3 just like they did on the PS2 (GTA, DMC, RE, FF, ...). Well, since there were lots more PS2 than Xbox in USA, and since games didn't cost a lot to make, they earned lots of profit just releasing on the PS2. Since USA is the biggest market in teh world for software and hardware sales in gaming, it is not suprising other companies want to work on both consoles and not just one. 360 outnumbers the PS3 2 to 1 in USA. And since both consoles combined they don't total 20 million units yet(still in USA), and since nowadays games const at least 3-4 times the amount it cost making games on PS2 and Xbox, so they HAVE to release it on both consoles. What I mean is:
Games cost more to make.
Not many consoles yet.
Releasing on just 1 console (in this case PS3) would result into low sales, thus affecting the company negatively. And since most of the best game's sales are in the US, companies cannot jepordize this by making their game exclusive to the PS3, since it just barely passed the 6 million mark (i think it did). So companies WANT to release their games on teh 360 too so they can sell more. If they were only on PS3, then companies will fail to make profit, especially with almost half the units than the 360 in the biggest market in the world, which is the US. I mean games being released on both PS3 and the 360 are being sold much more on the 360, at least the ratio by 60% to 40%.

With this idea,Star Ocean 4 should port to PS3 also, because SE also win more money selling the game to PS3 users too...

Yes, but still teh 360 fan base is much larger than the PS3. So IF there is going to be an exclusive title, better on 360 since it has more consoles sold in the US.
I was wondering the same as well
GoW3 - Sony made, so no chance of coming to 360, Killzone 2 - Like LBP, no chance of coming to 360, Resistance 2 - also no chance, White Knight Chronicles - No chance, The Agency - No Chance, MAG - No Chance, Socom - No Chance, Infamous - No Chance and Uncharted 2 - No Chance.
So, where the 'I wouldn't be surprised if most of them were ported or released day and date on 360.' comes from I have no idea.
eregol
Are ALL of those devs under the SONY umbrella? If they are then I was unaware of this fact and then the porting thing is moot, but still there's no guarantee any of said games will be any good or worth buying a PS3 for.
The only ones I think will be good are GOW3 and SoCom. The rest I have no interest in and again no guarantee they will turn out good.
[QUOTE="Hanabie"]can u explain why starocean, gears of war, etc. stay exclusively for m$?Ket87
Umm Gears of War was published by Microsoft Game Studios......thats why. They funded the games development.
Star Ocean was because MS tossed some money at SE.
Star Ocean was announced multi plat so Only Gears stayed exclusive and thats cuase M$ owns them just like warhawk and socom will never go to 360!
[QUOTE="Raven_Theory"]Everybody who wanted to play Metal Gear has already done so. The only thing Microsoft has is timed exclusivity. Yes they have some 3rd party games, but they suck on the 1st party front. As far as 3rd party goes
Tenchu Z and the new one
Kengo
Sylspheed
Beautiful Katamari
Kingdom Under Fire
Test Drive
Master Commander
Hour of Victory
That Frontlines WW 2 shooter game
Infinite Undiscovery
have all been poor to average games
MS's first party developer Mist Walker isn't that great.
Most of the cool games on 360 are multiplat
The only ones that people fawned over were Bioshock, Halo, Forza, PGR, Mass Effect, Tales of Vesperia, Viva Pinata, Fable 2, Gears of War 2, and Banjo.
Sony's games that are supposedly great are
Resistance, Motorstorm, Warhawk, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted Drake's Fortune, Hot Shots Golf 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, Wipeout, Siren Blood Curse, Little Big Planet for the most part have been recieved well by most critics that actually matter.
Resistance 2, seems like it will take home gold, Motorstorm 2 is quite cool, Valkyria Chronicles, although easy should strike the hearts of people, Socom seems alright for the online junkies.
in 09 you have Killzone 2, Tekken 6 with the better D-pad (everybody knows the 360 D-pad is not that great) Gran Turismo 5, God of War 3, Infamous, Twisted Metal, Heavy Rain, Ratchet, second PS3 adventure, Naughty Dog Project 2, White Knight Chronicles, Cross Edge, Wardevil Enigma (for now), Dark Cloud 3. Not to mention PSN games like Fat Princess, Kung Fu Ragdoll, Flower, that tetris like puzzle game.
Wow your going to sell your PS3 just so you can save yourself $50 dollars, but in the long run end up paying it again due to online fees.
Let us look at the 360 09 games shall we
Star Ocean 4
Forza 3
Halo Wars and the expansion of 3
Alan Wake.
If you ask me the 360, has already reached it's head back in 07
PS3 is getting most of the "big games" of 08 like Prince of Persia, Fallout, Far Cry, Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Mirrors Edge, Sonic Unleashed, MK, VS DC and a lot of big ones of 09, like Prototype, Call of Duty 6, Resident Evil 5, Bayonetta, Last Remnant, (even though it is late),
As far as PS3 being like Dreamcast, yeah right, the dreamcast only lasted pretty much for about a year. yeah sure it had games come out all the way until early 02 but it was long gone before that. Even Valve, now wants to be more involed with the system.
Neither system is bad, but the 360 isn't the king like people make it out to be. Yes it has more games as far as quantity goes, but for quality, I would say they are about even. The 360 has RPG's while PS3 has a stronger adventure esque genre of gaming.
thegame1980
Give me a break! Most of the PS3 exclusives you mentioned are not so great (Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword) AND NONE of their upcoming games have proved anything. Name games all day long that doesn't mean they are good or WILL be good. Also don't forget ALL of the good games you mentioned WILL be on 360 as well. Oh yea let's not forget the hassle of manditory installs, lack of trophy support and a barely functioning online network thus gimping the PS3. Making the choice to game on 360 an easier, more simple choice and less haggle. Videogames are no longer JUST ABOUT the videogame itself. Many other factors contribute to making a better home console and the ones mentioned above are it! Don't kid yourself with the useless garbage you spew just because you're a fan of the PS3.
Installs aren't bad but should be avoided. trophies are becoming more and more common. And give me an example of "barely functioning online network". If you are talking about PSN you are very mistaken.[QUOTE="Bhado"][QUOTE="_JPH_"]Regardless the game does come to the 360 or not, I don't know why some Sony fans are upset AT MICROSOFT that it is stealing exclusive titles. Do some people just have nothing better to do then to go around posting "MGS4 might go onto the 360?"
I swear I must have seen five different threads in the past week.
Hey, as far as i'm concerned, they can HAVE MGS4. It's not even THAT great. I played through it once over the summer and it's been collecting dust ever since. HaXeR
Same here.

I am talking about PSN. It's still nowhere NEAR as good as LIVE and frankly I don't care for it. Then again I haven't logged into it in like 4 months so things might be better now but last time the store looked awful, navagation was clunky, the friendsl ist was barebones (you can't tell where in the game they are or the last time they logged in and so on)

Seems you are not a PC gamer so installs don't affect me one bit, matter fact... the install are faster thaninstalling a gae on my PC. A game with online multiplayer capabilities does not make it a far superior game, VF 5 isn't even to my interest so you used up a bad example to support your comeback.
360 owners would want this to happen because they think their system is better and the fact that they have more games than the PS3. The games statement maybe true, but how many games does the 360 have that have "quality" in them? All I hear from 360 owners is Gears and Halo. They never talk about their other exclusives they have except those two. MGS4 would be downgraded really badly if it was ported to the 360. There was article a few years back in "GameInformer" that Kojima stated all future MGS games would be only "Playstation". That was when he was developing MGS3: Snake Eater. (Note: Don't ask for the link, I can't remember it). My guess is if this does happen and Kojima is against this, he would probably leave Konami and maybe team up with Sony or another third party publisher. Also to the ppl who kept complaining to sell their PS3s because of this, what difference does it make. It's still on the PS3, besides I like both systems, but I like the PS3 more because of its "quality" games and the fact the M$ doesn't make good quality games espeiclally from their own 1st- party studios.

I agree with you. The PS3's games are downgraded from their 360 version. Check gamespot's PS3 vs 360 comparision. Even till now multiplatform games look better on the 360. Now I know this ISN'T the answer you're looking for, but it's my answer. And please don't say Bioshock since it has been over 1 year and they stated that graphically there won't be any differences.
LOL, Fact still is, PS3 is the most powerful system out, no one will argue that. But another fact is, Developers are not schooled on it yet. Some are, but not many. And its probably a fact that a few have shanked/shafted a few games.

MSG4 will never go multiplatform. That link doesn't say anything other than that there is high demand for a port. Even if they did it won't be for a long time plus how are they supposed to fit it on a DVD. Even if they make u install most 360's have a 20gb hard drive. Just to install on ps3 is like 5gb WITH using a blu-ray. and when xbox comes out with their external blu-ray player it will be for watching blu-rays not games, otherwise every 360 owner would need one. IT WONT HAPPENdaman16161. Link had a Konami rep saying they were looking into it.

Kojima production is part of Konami so I think if Konami wants it ported they have no choice but to do what the company which has published the game has to say.

Wasn't Kojima involved with the MGS2 port? And twin snakes for the Gamecube? And MGS1 and 2 for the PC ? That means it is possible, that means it has happened before. And since Kojima is a Konami employee, not a Sony employee, I doubt he will quit if Konami decides to port the game to the 360.The game is perfectly doable on the 360. Look at GTA4 and COD4... they don't have hard drives to work with in the 360, and they deal with it with zero lost in quality. Data can be compressed, the PS3 and the Sixaxis joystick in the game can be remodeled, the Otacon and Mantis audio comments can be erased. The iPod can stay as it is, since Apple and MS are not really adversaries. We have all played games in multiple disks before, including FF and MGS, so stop using that as a techological impossibility...
I don't really care about this going multiplatform. I already played it... being there, done that. If this is true, all you can do is learn to never say never. 3rd party exclusives are coming to an end.
