I'm not a big fan of it. It's just another kart game. Nothing spectacular or special. But thats just me.Dysantic
I feel the same way. It's not bad but it isn't particularly great. It's kind meh. Maybe playing through the full game would be different but it feels like every other kart racer to me.
i was looking forward to it but the cart handling seems off, tracks are short, and limited weapons is a letdown to me. drifting kinda sucks too, overall only fun to create a character and car, gameplay lacks just like little big planet
Spent an hour with it. Lots of fun, no doubt. I play it like I use to play Crash Team Racing and got a lot out of it, even trying and doing well on the harder difficulties. Although karts do have handling issues, this is definitely a game I will be getting soon
I bet it gets an 8.0 rating. With the lag time rumors & the lag time of the Beta I cannot imagine the game being a 9.
Oh well I still am going to get the game. 4 player local multiplayer games are a must imo.
Dont be put off by this demo, the beta showed it off a lot better, the demo is so limted im suprised, they even put on the most boring track of them all, the demo didnt show the game off well at all.Totalgym9000
Yeah, I think the demo shows what the game can be. It is kind of like LBP, in the sense that the first chapter or two of LBP really is not that fun and makes the game seem horrible, then when you play farther in chapters and user created stuff you realize just how amazing it is. LBP and MNR is all about the environment. I am still in progress of playing the demo, but so far so good for the most part, wether or not I will be buying it day one, im not sure yet as I just bought RDR.
what the heck a demo is out for it?? what the heck am i doing on my computer right now! lolBangerman15
Haha, right? I never heard about the demo coming. It is not the best demo, but when you play with it more and more you start to realize the potential the game has. The little mechanics the devs put into the gameplay such as the boost/shield gauge makes for some interesting gameplay. Buying this game no doubt.
i did like the Sega Allstars demo. i haven't tried the PS3 version of Mod Nation Racers demo.(tried PSP demo) though. also, u ppl must realise that Mario Kart Snes, Crast Team Racing and Diddy Kong Racing are best the kart racers ever. everthing else is average/garbage.Completely unremarkable kart racing game, Sega AllStars is more fun, honestly.

I enjoyed it. I thought the cart handled very well. Also thought it was nice that you will be able to use what you create over to the actual game. Too bad you can only race the one track though and not use your created character and cart in the demo. Can't wait til next week.

This definitely
This! I had more fun with the Split/Second demo than I did with this. I don't think it's a bad game at all, I feel it's just too overhyped.i was looking forward to it but the cart handling seems off, tracks are short, and limited weapons is a letdown to me. drifting kinda sucks too, overall only fun to create a character and car, gameplay lacks just like little big planet

Wasn't really enthralled with it. Load times were long (although they are supposed to release a patch after it releases) and the actal kart racing felt weird. Felt like th4e karts were more floating than actually driving on cement. I hope it does well, but I'm going to pass.
I like it, the track is no frills, and they didn't give you much to work with as far as modding your kart and character. I really hope they work on the power ups a little and release some more with DLC or something because right now the game play is lacking a little bit, but I expect when you are racing online against human competition it will be a little bit more fun.

LOL... They didn't announce the demo until the Friday before it came out:

I downloaded it last night, and I'm absolutely loving it - even though you only get access to a little bit of it (90% of the stuff is locked, it seems), it's still a total blast. Racing on the extreme levels is crazy hard, but the challenge is what makes it great. And personally I like the controls - drifting feels great, and I like the way you have to be careful when doing tricks in the air, because if you land wrong it'll totally screw you up. You've gotta make an instant decision - go for the extra bonus boost, or play it safe and know you won't risk getting slowed down when you land? This game seems to add a lot more strategy to the driving than most kart racers have.

Nicely put...I played it today and it is stupid fun. Beyond that I was surprised how immersed I got in it...found myself really having to concentrate and strategize...loads of fun to be had here and after what people came up with for LBP I can't wait to see some of the tracks people will make. It's going to be outstanding...[QUOTE="hiryu3"]I like it the controls take little time to get use to but I enjoyed the demo. It was too short though.PSP107the car handling are little rough compared to the PSP demo.
REALLY!?! I played both and the PS3 is far superior in handling. I think people are scared off because the game doesnt feel like Mario kart, but it obviously takes skill and is fun so im good.
I thought the combined shield/turbo gauge was something new and interesting brought to the table. Also, boosting the weapons by not initially using them reminds me of diddy kong racing, which is a good thing.

Exactly, these mechanics are nice and add a sense of strategy along with the gameplay.

I agree... I'm not sure if it's the feel of the controller, or the size of the screen I'm racing on... but I felt like the PS3 version felt SOOO much better to control. Honestly, I enjoyed it more than I remember enjoying Mario Kart... but I haven't played Mario Kart since the gamecube either.[QUOTE="NaveedLife"][QUOTE="PSP107"] the car handling are little rough compared to the PSP demo.haze_blaze

This game is much harder then I thought it would be, which makes me happy! :)
I read somewhere we can keep what we make for the final version? I hope so cause I made an awesome mod :).
This post is spot on. I thought the same too. The track design was obviously fun, but the driving was weird. DId you have any camera issues? I did, i couldn't see where i was going sometimes.Completely unremarkable kart racing game, Sega AllStars is more fun, honestly.
