man its been about a week my house was broken into when i was at school man my ps3 was stolen my beutiful 60GB PS3 got robbed and a whole buch of other stuf man im so borred now there is nothing to do i tried goning back to the ps2 but couldnt get used to it the no trigger buttons were killing me and no one was online on th ps2 is there a way to track it down from the serial number or something am supposed to get another one in a cuple days i remeber playing it on my big screen 65inch HDTV using the HD component cabels man HD WAS GREAT i loved resistance online but to bad for me it got stolen the thing that bothers me the most is thhat my spring break just started today is 10 days long so man i have 10days that i couldve played my ps3 in and worked out but noe no ps3 only working ou or playing basketball

i only told a few people about the pps3 my freinds becouse they also have one and that way we can play online and my cousin who we were with on the day of the robbery im in cleveland if a kid whants a ps3 and heard someone in his class got one he will find out were u live and steel it so never brag about anything

this is what happened to me on launch day. I ended takeing the guys to court. I didnt win anythingand they really just got community service time because all of them were minors. between the age of 15-17

So you cant track down your PS3 via Serial Number? I mean, I didnt think this was possible because: 1. I dont think Law Enforcement cares to spend the resources to find your PS3 2. I dont think serial number alone will be able to track down a users locations\ 3. Out of all the stolen PS3...nobody has gotten caught (cept for the ones, that knew who stole it) I did however, read about a couple of people being tracked with stolen PS3, via the serial number (when they connected online) Why dont you call Sony, and ask if this is even POSSIBLE in the first place. Ask your law enforcement agency if this is possible too. Keep us posted, I want to know if you catch these bastids.

Every floor has only 2 units...according to UPS they left my PS3 at the door, and I signed for it. So your telling me, my neighbor stole it? Well, they didnt give me that kind of information...they said they would "investigate" and notify me of the situation via Phone and E-mail, but they never did. I just found out that 3 weeks later, they just reimbursed me, the full amount. but I would like for the OP to get his PS3 back, and to see if serial number tracking actually works.
Aw man, that sux. Same thing happened to me but I lost a PS2 and a laptop, plus many many other things. That was a year ago. Now I have another laptop and a PS3 to keep me occupied.
