So you cant track down your PS3 via Serial Number? I mean, I didnt think this was possible because: 1. I dont think Law Enforcement cares to spend the resources to find your PS3 2. I dont think serial number alone will be able to track down a users locations\ 3. Out of all the stolen PS3...nobody has gotten caught (cept for the ones, that knew who stole it) I did however, read about a couple of people being tracked with stolen PS3, via the serial number (when they connected online) Why dont you call Sony, and ask if this is even POSSIBLE in the first place. Ask your law enforcement agency if this is possible too. Keep us posted, I want to know if you catch these bastids.IM SUPPOSED TO BE GETTING A NEW ONE THINS WEEK HOPE I GET IT ANG MY PLAYSTSTION ID IS KOTKOT NOT HOTHOT I KNOW IT LOOKS LIKE HOTHOT BUT ITS
KOTKOT

Sorry to hear that man, I've been very careful with all my gaming products. I live in a pretty good neighborhood though.mjf249I live in pretty good neighborhood to, but when my PS3 was delivered to my doorstep, it was gone. I live in a luxury condo by the way. Every floor has only 2 units...according to UPS they left my PS3 at the door, and I signed for it. So your telling me, my neighbor stole it? A senior citizen, that isnt home much, because he is a rich old bastid that spends like 8 months on cruise ships. Hell no...UPS guy ripped me off.

I bought my PS3 at Best Buy during launch and when I made my way in it was pretty late, I don't think anyone in my neighborhood knows I own one. Thankfully my backyard doesn't have any houses behind it(pure woods), and thank god my garage is deep within my driveway.

No, I dont know 100% sure if it was the UPS guy...but for me he is the only suspect. 1) The building is secure, the only way you can get up to a certain floor, is to slide your ID card in the elevator, or if your a guest have the security guard slide his card for you. 2) The security guard could not have done it, he is unlikely, because he is an older guy, and really nice..plenty of packages are left at my door without any hitch. When I come in and I see him he actually notifies me on other ocassions, that packages are waiting for me. 3) The box said Sony on it (Sonystyle.com), it was around launch, if I was a smart UPS guy, I would know what it was. 4)They had attempted delivery before, but didnt drop it off, because it NEEDED a signature 5) When they supposedly dropped it off, it did receive a signature...by me no less. Thats what they claim anyway. But I was not home. 6) This leaves the UPS guy as the last guy to see it...who exactly did sign for it? Nobody, homeboy just took it. You cant really report him, because, he could say, somebody signed for it, and it would be the end of that. My word against his, and rather than investigate, UPS would just reimburse me which they did. There are security cams all over the place, but since there is an office inside the condo, he had lots of packages to deliver, its unclear if he did or did not steal it. But, I guess actually it was all for good. Because while waiting for my reimbursement, (which took like 3 weeks while UPS "investigated') I won a PS3 from a contest - Mario Kart DS racing, and Im not even that good. Me and my friend just entered for the hell of it, and we were facing all these middle school kids. At the same time, my gf bought one for me, while she was visiting her family in Japan...so I ended up with two 20GB PS3, that I pretty much got for free. ("Free" is a loose term when dealing with a girlfriend) So that UPS guy did me a favor. But I heard stories of people being tracked via the serial number, but they never caught the guy...or at least notified me that anybody was caught. Maybe because the police were not involved, only UPS. But if they could track a serial number, that would be great - I dont think its possible, but who knows.
