For anyone looking to buy this game, I urge you to. It's easily got 20 hours of gameplay and plenty of replay value. If you rush through it like an idiot, expect it to be maybe 12-15, but you can easily play the game it's meant to be played and get up to 25 hours of great entertainment.

Overall, the game is awesome.

There are some quirks, for sure, but the amount of fun it is to just roam around the city makes up for it.

The things I have a problem with are the minor framerate hitches, and the citizens getting kind of repetitive. In fact, it kind of reminds me of the first free-roam Spider-Man game for PS2, where the citizens you save always say the same thing, and the side-quests are always more or less the same. It just seems really uneven. Some of the parts of gameplay and graphics just scream "this is next gen", and some of it seems like it has been in development for 4 years. I think with a little more polish and a more focused story it could have been a GOTY contender. Right now I'd probably give it an 8.5-9.0.

The parkour free-running stuff is freaking awesome. Killing guards is fun.

They could have used a darker, more medieval tone in the cities, quite a bit more variety in the citizens voice acting, tightening up of the framerate in places, and more variety to the side-quests. That's pretty much all I would change. They make the city feel a little less "real" than you'd like, but the overall gameplay experience is still really fun.

okay well at least single player on PS3 this year.

My brother picked up the PS3 limited edition today, which means the first thing i wil be doing tomorrow when i get home is playing it.

Can't complain about getting to play a game for free every once in a while :)

does this game freeze alot for anybody else? there has been like 5 times when the game just suddenly freezes... its annoying since you have to restart the system. Should i return my copy for another at gamestop?agarc90

yea wat he said! and i heard its 40 hrs lol, i played about 9 hrs and didnt experience the framerate adn freezin problem, im still tryin to figer out how they have problems with their game and few dont? me being one of them

there is something to be said about a review - and that is that someone - qualfied or un-qualified, interestedted or un-interested in the type and style of music and all aspects of the game is involved in rendering an opinion of the experience that they have gone through - ours is to read and watch the review and make up or minds in order to determine if we want the product - however the only true test - is to play and play so that we too may experience the game and decide for ourselves if we were to enjoy it.

Buying a game is a gamble - so doing some research lessens the odds that we purchase a sorry excuse for a game, however it will never eliminate it - as the only true test is to play.

I have read alot of negative thoughts bout this game - and STILL bought me a copy - and....... ME LOVES IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, lets me get back to them assasinations..... providing the system does not freeze again.......;)

It doesn't freeze too much for me...maybe every 2 hours...by the way anyone throw a person in the water or killed somebody next to one of those places where the meat is barred in and they flopped around like a fish, you should if you haven't :D

So it freezes a lot. And it does make it a bad game if it freezes. But I really want this game!

you gringos are so lucky. You pay $60 for the regular version and maybe $70 for the Limited Edition. We, here in Europe, pay 70 EUROS (that's about $90) for the regular version and 90 euros (about $130) for the Limited Edition. Why? Why the hell is it more expensive in Europe. Not only that, but we get a very different limited edition. I was sooo looking forward to it, having read that it included an extra DVD, a comic, a walkthrough, a metal case, etc. And what do I get? The same crappy plastic box as the standard one and an Altair figure. That's it! No DVD, no comic, no book, no metal case, nothing!

Ok, the figure is much better than the one I've seen in this forum, but I'd rather have the DVD and the comic, etc.

You should totally just buy from ebay or some american websites. Its cheaper plus you can buy the american limited version of assassins creed 'cause the ps3 isn't region locked.

Assassin's creed II can't be that bad. Why doesn't someone just list all of it's faults if they think it's so bad?
