It you guys wanted to see a benchmark we should all reach for here it is. This one was done by edub30 from here.

If you make your wallpapers this good you are set. BTW edub30 is a computer graphics major. (Me tinks)

My only struggle how do you rip a figure out from a picture. Like in the sports ones how do you get the guy off the background, cleanly?I can do the eraser tool but it looks like arse at high res's.jdang307

My suggestion Ryan, is to go to Ask the Mods and very respectfully ask a mod to check out the thread and consider stickying it. I did this for my PS Store thread. Constantly bumping will get it locked faster than stickied in most cases.

To any mods that read this, there have been a few wallpaper related topics that this thread answers each day, that is why I believe this should be stickied.

Great suggestions Ian. Shady also had a good idea for typing up a tutorial for how to use GIMP or Photoshop to add the XMB Bars to your own backgrounds. If I have time, I'll work on one for GIMP, but it will be pretty basic.

Highlight the storage medium while in the pictures tab on the xmb, press triangle, and select display all. This will force the contents to be shown. Otherwise you need them to be in the proper folder hierachy on the storage medium which I believe is PS3 > PHOTOS > files where caps are important

you were being picky but only because I couldn't find a good picture of vamp. haha Due to photobucket's limitations its not quite 720 but its extremely close and will look fine when you use the whole image for the wallpaper. I know it's not the greatest but maybe you'll like it. Click on it for full size.
