some questions about the Yellow Dog Linux
Can you install Java on it?
Can you still access the PSN from it?
Can you still purchase PSX-PSP games and other games such as flOw?
Can you install other Linux based programs on it?
thanks

I used nero startsmart, good program. It took 10 mins to burn to a 4.6gb or whatever my DVD-r's are on there, its not that hard... If you dont have a decent burner program, open my computer and select the DVD rom(with DVD in the computer of course). And copy it onto the disk...

Found my problem. you have to do an ISO IMAGE COPY to get the file on the DVD properly, what i was doing was just copying the fie and getting that error. Here http://www.nero.com/nero7/enu/nero7-demo.php Use that to put the YDL 3.3gb file onto the DVD, courtesy of our good friends at the playstation forums :).DylanDJK
Wow iam now downloading nero7 b/c I had the same issue but its 3 hrs wtf. Is that how long it took you. I have DSL.
First off, thanks for the thread. It's awesome. My questions are:
How do you go about downloading other games and apps for Linux? Do you download them directly onto the PS3 or bring them over from the PC?
Can Word, Powerpoint, etc. be used with Yellow Dog?
I'm using component cables, but sending 480i signal through it (SDTV with a component input). Is Yellow Dog really that bad in standard definition.
And finally, to answer EVERYONE'S QUESTION: I BOUGHT YELLOW DOG LINUX FROM LINUXONLINE.BIZ FOR $10. Fast and easy (my computer's dvd-burner is broken).
Thanks.
