There's a lot of debate over on AV Sciences Forums about this problem (or lack thereof).  I'll post over here after I have had a chance to play with my PS3.

Not all HDTV's Suppot Full Range RGB, also you have to use it with HDMI only. Second part of that is obvious but I wanted to say it all.

Here is my proof.

Can someone tell me how "Search for media servers" works for my Windows XP and PS3? I tried...things...and it didn't work.

It just says "No server found."

The media center option is really crude in my opinion so it will probably be corrected with the next updates but anyway have both PS3 and Laptop on the same IP connection.

Open WMP11

Go to the "search for media center" option above any ove the PS3 media bars, search for one.

In WMP11 click library then media sharing. Then enable the PS3 it may be called unknown object though. by this time ps3 should have found your wmp11. Set that up, then go to wmp11

Go to library again and select your media (i.e pictures, music) so that a dot highlights/selects it. Then go to add to library and add your folders you want to share.

waste of time IMO. ill stick with the 360 streamer untill they support more media files

2) The stability of the network connection used during gameplay has been improved for some PlayStation®2 format software titles that support online gaming.

I was wondering if anyone has figured out the connectivity issues. Was hoping that was resolved with 1.81. My network is set up perfectly but network connection via wireless is sporadic and unreliable.ryanrodriguez

Have you confirmed that it's the PS3's fault and not your router? Those things aren't always 100% reliable no matter what.

Yes, it's totally true. I'm willing to bet the farm on it.

Why shouldn't there be a 2.0? They're on version 1.82, so 2.0 seems attainable.

The1.82 update is scheduled for release within a few days. It includes support for AVC High Profile (H.264/MPEG-4) files and probably some more PS2 compatibility.(http://blog.us.playstation.com/2007/06/26/firmware-182-coming-soon/)

Perhaps when 2.0 is near release, they'll post something on their blog.
