Playstation needs a super smash bros game

Super smash bros is one of the only games I still play from nintendo. I still to this day play the N64 version because it is a great party game. It would be great to see playstation have a game similar although it may be difficult because sony's characters are less cartoony.

Characters I can think of that would work: Jak and Daxter, Rachet and clank, kratos, snake, maybe sackboys/sackgirls, Sora from kingdom hearts, Drake, Cole, maybe that clown from twisted metal? I'm sure theres quite a few I can't think of.

It would be cool to play on some lbp levels maybe use nectar as an item to make your guy have more power or something.

In Super Smash Bros you just like hit each other I few characters could shoot arrows or blasters. If this were to happen on the PS3 you would have :

Cole BBQing the hell out of everything.

Drake and Snake with SMGs

Kratos Flying around tearing people limb to limb

Sackboy slapping Kratos then getting torn limb to limb

It wouldn't work it would be WAY to unbalanced.

First of all I'm not a Nintendo fan. Anyways, I find it hard. Nintendo has more characters than Sony and alot of the most famous characters that appeared in PS1 and PS2 are 3rd party. Sora, Snake and all those are 3rd parties. The only characters that I think are from Sony are Nathan Hale, Killzone characters. I got my ps3 six months ago so I don't know alot of Sony but it will be hard for a Smash brothers on a Sony console.Miroku32

No you just make the powers do

I'm having a hard time trying to expliain this. Look at samus, she has a giant beam gun but obviously she can't obliterate mario in one shot. She stil has her powers but its balanced. Your not taking anything away.

PS3 doesn't deserve a Smash Brothers game. There aren't enough memorable characters.

Agreed a SSB type game for PS3 would be good but it'd have to be a diff style in some way. I think SSB could be way better if it was on a system that had a good online system.

SSB games are much more fun with local multiplayer though. Playing SSBB online isn't fun with or without lag.

Trust me when all you have is a GCN N64 or WII they are fun

If you want to play Super Smash Bros, get a Wii and play Melee or Brawl on that or get an N64 and play the original. If Sony made a SSB-like game it wouldn't be as much fun and everybody would complain about how much of a rip-off it was. I doubt the roster would even be half as good as what SSBB's is mainly because I don't really care as much for Sony characters as I do Nintendo characters. Nintendo has so many clas.sic franchises that they can do that. If Sony tried, it would seem like they were stretching for ideas.

It's best to just invest money in newer projects imo.

i would love to see a game where insomniac and naughty dog made a game like that.....maybe throw in a lil sucker punch for sum sly action??????

and of course in the game have like a preview of sly 4 lol....

you are out of your mind, Super Smash Bros on the Game Cube was one of my favorite fighting games of all time. The one on the Wii is a great game to play with a big group of people. and the N64 version is a classic.

why can't they have snake? snake was in brawl, and mgs certainly isn't a nintendo title. or maybe thats just what they want me to think...

SCIV / Tekken > SSB true story.

Ugh, not for me. I hate SSB. I've played them all, and I think they're trash.

Good if others like it or want a game like it with Sony characters, but I have no desire to play SSB, or anything like it, again.

Smash Bros succeeds because it uses bright and colorful video game mascots like Mario and Sonic in a "fighting" game. Sony has... what? Ratchet? Satchboy?

Just buy a Wii and brawl with Snake.

I still play ssb for n64 thanks very much. And I like how you've decided it wouldn't be fun before it ever exists. And I was using ssb as a guide, obviously it would have to be different because of the audience.
