Predictions for E3 2010

So it's way early since E3 09 just finished but i am going to take a stab at what we'll see at Sony's E3 next year.

• KZ3 announced to end the show (cue even more amazing trailer or gameplay)
• Resistance 3 gameplay (I think R3 will be announced early next year like R2 was announced in Jan 2008 in gameinformer)
• Syphon Filter Ps3 announced (if it hasn't been announced by that point, it could be announced this year at another event)
• FFvs13 gameplay (i expect this to happen at TGS though)
• Starhawk announced (could be announced before hand)
• Live Stage demo of Last Guardian (this might happen at TGS though)
• Insomniac's new IP shown (rumor has it that it is going to be a WRPG)
• Agent live demo
• GT5 blowout (could happen this yet at TGS or Gamescon)

I know I'm late yet at the same time early for this timely thread, but...

I'm going to predict the PS4 beats the nexbox to the market, because I think Sonys not going to want the

uphill battle they endured this time around, and by now Sony is way more integrated with the video game industry

so they probably had a team working on the PS4 while the other was finishing the PS3 and getting it perfected

to the best of their abilities, whereas the team working on the nexbox is probably one and the same as the one

that worked on the 360. Which would explain perdectly why they dumped em off on the consumer so quickly and

moved on. So despite the fact that Microsoft finished producing this console first, I have a sneaking suspicion

thet Sony started the next one first, and consequently will finish it first.

In regards to this E3 I've got some predictions, some having more substantiation than others.

-Kill Zone 3 Teaser

-Resistance 3 Trailer

-Infamous 2 Teaser

-Last Guardian Trailer and/or Gameplay footage

-Final Fantasy Versus XIII Trailer

-Agent Trailer and/or gameplay

Very much looking forward to Heavy Rain's release date as well, It'll be a breath of fresh air for this generation of gaming, everyone so far for the most part has played it pretty safe with the exception of EA. More companies need to get that Quantic Dream non-Madden EA mentality and take some chances.

I believe the Heavy Rain demo releases February 11th, although I've seen the clips of the parts we will have available to play for the demo, I still think this will be a game more about having the controller in your hand than some would like to think.

I'd also like to add something to my current E3 predictions, due to my as of late discovery that the

Playstation GEM (rumored motion controller title) has been pushed back to the fall due to insufficient launch title support.

A definitive, Final and Solid World Wide release date for Gran Turismo 5 is long overdue now, that show be the first part of Sony's E3 press conference.AgentA-Mi6

I agree that would be a great way to kick things off, and as I said half kiddingly they should put it on a stone tablet. I think sadly at this point they almost would have to do something kid of tongue n cheek like that, yet at the same time reassuring the base that it actually is the "definitive release date".

Also I hope it supports the motion controllers, but I doubt it will, although I can think of an awesome way it could work. I think if I heard right the grips are pressure sensitive on the motion controllers, so you could squeeze the right one for gas and the left for brake. I won't invest too much hope in that becoming a reality though, because I'd rather just have the game, and maybe get a wheel. It would be a hell of a way to get market penetration with the controller though, you have to admit that.

Twisted Metal announcment and Final Fantasy Versus XIII gameplay and or something new and I will be a happy happy camper.

For me a good showing of Gran Turismo 5 damage physics and all, would show they are not needing to hide anything from the consumer,

throw a stone solid release date as well and it will already have been a good E3 for me.

To make it great for me there needs to be a Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer complete with gameplay footage and a release date.

To make it awesome David Jaffe would have to anounce his project title and it would be the official Twisted Metal 4. (alotta woulds ~ alotta ifs)

To make it an extraordinary E3 all of the above would have to happen.

I'm going to expand on my previous predictions as its now alot closer to E3 and so inevitably we know more about what to expect,

although surprisingly enough with E3 less than a month a way we still have alot of room for surprises.

gimmick they already have The Fight and The Shoot which only serve to encourage the gimmick claim people have labeled the Move with, and I think those 2

titles will be more aimed at the casual gamer, I think Sony has to get a AA or AAA caliber IP out there that has a non gimicky name if they ever want to

breakthrough to their harcore centric install base. So I'd expect to see something big built from the ground up for the Move that looks like it has potential

on a level thats on par with everything else thats out there.

-Resident Evil 5 Motion Enhanced version (using a Move and a sub-controller)

-Gran Turismo 5 motion control support announced (I'm betting at least motion control support will be announced for it)

I'm 98% sure they're going to announce the retirement of the PS2 and a plan to start including PS2 titles on PSN + software emulation. This would push the rest of their PS2 stock out of the door and software would fly off the shelves with BC opened up again.

That would be the smartest thing they could do at this point, if they're going to do that they should start the show off announcing that so the people who only own PS2s would watch and allow themselves to be sold on the PS3s, there would be a huge spike in PS3 hardware. There was probably a second wave of PS2 owners that were waiting for a price drop on the PS3 and changed their minds when the backwards compatibility was taken back. Thats really the key feature to winning alot of PS2 owners over.

It is dropping down but I don't know if its hit as low as they'll let it before seeing it off to sea. I really hope you're right on this one, but I can't help but be a skeptic about that.

Yes I suspect he will, I don't think the second they are done making games they will call it over, as long as the PS2s and PS2 games are in stores they can still sell PS2 titles on the PSN and I would imagine they want to do that as long as they can. When they said they will continue to support the PS2 as long as they see value in it, I think secretly they meant via selling its titles on the psn. At this point in time I'd be surprised if the older PS2 titles are even selling at cost, whereas on the PSN they are selling for the same price as the hardcopy without it having to pay for the CD, CD case, booklet and retailers share.

In my opinion Final Fantasy Versus XIII could have been their most attractive exclusive probably mainly because of its name recognition, but it looks like a beautiful game too. Sony's probably a little reluctant to take it only because they can no longer tout off "only possible on the PS3" now that Square mentioned the possibility of it going crossplatform. They probably still would say it anyways if it doesn't go crossplatfrom but not without looking like jackasses. I'll get it regardless of if it goes crossplatform or not because it looks like a more traditional Final Fantasy game. I never got onboard with the whole gunplay for FFXIII, not to mention the claims going around that it has cheesy plot. Anyways a Final Fantasy Versus XIII announcement even that its crossplatform at Microsofts conference would be devastating, because in my opinion it could have made Best of show, at least as far as I'm concerned. Also in my opinion if Versus goes multiplat I'm going to personally disregard any more rumors that a supposed 3rd party exclusive is going to remain a 3rd party exclusive. Its on the same level to me as if Metal Gear Solid 4 went crossplatform. I'm that shocked that the possibility is even up in the air right now. I'm going to count on Kingdom Hearts 3 going multiplat if it does.

As long as the PS3 version of FF Versus XIII isn't compromised because of lack of disc space on the dvd-9s and we don't have to wait for the development on the 360 I'll be ok with it I suppose. (not trying to start trouble, just been looking forward to this game for a loooong looooooong time and won't be happy if I have to wait even loooooooooooonger or if I get a trimmed down experience on account of this decision.)

I do count on Sony dropping some big bombs as you're saying though, but this was their nuke in my opinion, thats all I'm saying, it was going to be the 1 rpg Sony got any exclusivity on this gen from Square Enix, the only one worth a damn at least. This probably won't even hit this E3 though, as someone said I think earlier in this thread Square is "considering it" which means they'll probably be sitting on it for a while hoping to see Sony sweat some good offers.

Well I think you are going to get your wish on the horror game for the move, well.. um...sort of, Capcom the king of recycling is putting out another

Resident Evil 4 hard copy, this one will have move capabilities. I doubt Insomniac will show up at Microsofts press conference right after they unveil Resistance 3 on Sony's stage, it'd just be like a slap in Sony's face, and I think they're above that, I'm sure they are working on a multi plat, not Resistance 3 obviously as Sony has the rights to that one and Ratchet and Clank, so it'll be something new, but I can't see them being at Microsofts conference.

I'm not counting on Versus being their because of this recent comment by Square Enix to the effect of "considering" multiplat status for Versus, I'd guess the only way we'll see Final Fantasy Versus XIII this E3 is if Sony throws an extremely generous offer at Square for Final Fantasy Versus XIII exclusivity, at least timed exclusivity, and they might show off the progress its made, because if they don't get anything out of Sony then they'll probably want to wait until the 360 counterpart is almost complete before putting it in the public eye again so it doesn't have too early exposure. Also I doubt Kingdom Hearts is in the works because Square probably has all its teams allocated to Versus. I could be wrong though and hope I am, I would love nothing more than to see Kingdom Hearts 3 even just the words make an appearance this E3. I think you're right on the psp though, I heard or read ramblings about a psp with a touch screen somewhere.

Anyways a Final Fantasy Versus XIII announcement even that its crossplatform at Microsofts conference would be devastating, because in my opinion it could have made Best of show, at least as far as I'm concerned. Also in my opinion if Versus goes multiplat I'm going to personally disregard any more rumors that a supposed 3rd party exclusive is going to remain a 3rd party exclusive. Its on the same level to me as if Metal Gear Solid 4 went crossplatform. I'm that shocked that the possibility is even up in the air right now. I'm going to count on Kingdom Hearts 3 going multiplat if it does.

As long as the PS3 version of FF Versus XIII isn't compromised because of lack of disc space on the dvd-9s and we don't have to wait for the development on the 360 I'll be ok with it I suppose. (not trying to start trouble, just been looking forward to this game for a loooong looooooong time and won't be happy if I have to wait even loooooooooooonger or if I get a trimmed down experience on account of this decision.)

I do count on Sony dropping some big bombs as you're saying though, but this was their nuke in my opinion, thats all I'm saying, it was going to be the 1 rpg Sony got any exclusivity on this gen from Square Enix, the only one worth a damn at least. This probably won't even hit this E3 though, as someone said I think earlier in this thread Square is "considering it" which means they'll probably be sitting on it for a while hoping to see Sony sweat some good offers.

I actually loved FFXIII, it was just as much a Final Fantasy game as any other and and most real fans of the series recognize that. Anyone I've talked too who isn't just an "I love cloud FFVII is the **** person loves it. I can definitely see how the Multiplat announcement midway through development hindered it though. I love that game :)

And apparently Killzone 3 was confirmed tonight so there goes that one :/
